Rain
(I hope everyone had a merry Christmas, happy holidays to everyone else and here's too a new year!)
Brooklyn's POV
"I still don't get how you don't love The Classic."
"And I still don't get why you bother bringing this up again," I replied while shaking my head as we walked around Time Square. I took another bite of my cookie as I breathed in the city air. It was good to get out of my room and walk around the city again.
"Kinda feels like touring again," Sky said. I thought for a moment, and I guess it did. Two people walking around the city like it's the first time again.
"Yeah, it does," I replied with a small smile. So far things were going good. Neither of us talked about the whole break up thing, and instead we just talked about Mamma Mia and anything else besides what we used to be.
As we were walking one I looked up and saw that almost all the signs there started playing one video. Sky seemed to notice it too, and after a few moments he said, "That girl almost looks like you." Just as a girl with a skirt and a top piece that had the pattern of a certain bridge came on.
"That is me, and the other girls," I replied with a nod. Sky looked at me like I was crazy, so I said, "A few years ago we all did a little music video to Welcome to New York for Time Square." Sky's cheeks started to flush redder than his hair, which I found weird. But I didn't ask about it, I wanted too, but I'm pretty sure it's better left a mystery. "Anyways, I have to know, when did you get your tattoo?" I asked.
"Couple months ago," Sky replied as if it was nothing. "You wanna see?" he asked. I nodded and he showed me his wrist, and as I thought it didn't say anything dumb.
"Did it hurt?"
"It wasn't as painful as falling into....say a the orchestra pit." I can safely say that I've never gotten tattoo, or fallen into the pit, but both sound painful.
I ended up laughing for a little bit, and when I calmed myself down I was still smiling wide. I forgot how much Sky can make me laugh in just a matter of seconds. That's actually one of the things I love most about him. As a friend. I love him as a friend. Nothing more, nothing less.
We then walked around some more and talk. It was actually really fun hanging out with Sky again. I was so wrapped up in having a good time with Him that I didn't even notice the dark clouds roll in. It wasn't until the rain started to pour down onto the streets of New York that I noticed it. I wasn't sure what happened next cause Sky grabbed my hand and started pulling me to who knows where.
The rain seemed to pour down harder and harder with every second. It wasn't until a few minutes later I realized that we were on 50th street, which is where the nearest subway station is. "Why not just hail a cab?" I asked as we headed down the stairs.
"There's too much traffic, and everyone else was either hailing a cab or heading inside a store.," Sky replied.
"So going into a subway would be the better choice?" I questioned as we reached the final step. I looked around to see that it was more crowded than usually, and that's saying something in New York. People were soaking wet as the cane into the station; Everyone was pushing past the other, it was another typical New York subway station alright.
"You'd rather say out there and get stick?" Sky asked. When I didn't answer he said, "thought so." After that nothing much was said. We eventually got onto the plat form and had to wait at least half an hour before getting onto the train.
When we did there were a lot of people inside already. In other words we were standing up, smack in the middle. It was such a tight fit that I my chest was up against his. I looked up Sky was redder than his hair. I couldn't help but smile, he was smiling too. "Remember that time we played sardines back on the tour?" Sky asked.
"Yeah," I replied with a small laugh. "We were all board since dress rehearsal was running late. So Anthony suggested we play. I was the first to hide, and after about ten minutes you were the first to find me and then we...." I stopped myself before I could finish. What happened next was we started to kiss, and of course Nick found us and started yelling at Sky. Needless to say the whole game was ruined cause of my other protective brother.
"Remember when you went into the over head compartment and got stuck?" I asked changing the subject.
"I think I still have a bruise," he replied.
"I told you it was a bad idea. But you've never listened to me."
_______
It was still raining by the time we got to my place. Luckily Nick and Dylan were out somewhere having lunch so the place would be tease free.
"You can use the bathroom to dry off, I'll leave some dry clothes in front of the door for you," I said before walking to my room. I turned around as a smirk appeared across my face as I said, "the hair dryer is in first draw." Sky rolled his eyes as I started to laugh and walk into my room.
I quickly took off my wet clothes and threw them into the hamper before drying off and put on a pair of pj pants and a over sized t-shirt.
I then looked through my draws for some of Nick's old clothes that Sky can use for now. It might be a little small but it's better than nothing. I headed out of my room and too the bathroom. I knocked on the door and said, "I got some dry clothes for you. I'll leave them in front of the door for you."
"Thanks Fun Size," Sky replied.
I put the clothes on the floor and then said, "I'm going to make some snacks and hot cocoa, you want anything?"
"Hot cocoa sounds good."
"Ok," I replied before walking over to the kitchen to make the hot cocoa. When I was about halfway through Sky came up to me and said, "I'm surprised it's not white cocoa." I rolled my eyes with a small sigh to show my annoyance.
"Can you get the mugs?" I asked while keeping my eyes on what I was doing. "They're in the cabinet right next to me. Over on the left." Sky didn't say anything and instead got what I asked for. "So do the clothes fit?" I asked as I turned around.
"Might be a little stretched the next time you put them on," Sky replied. I couldn't help but laugh.
"It's better than nothing," I replied while still laughing. Sky started to smile at me that gave me this weird feeling. "Anyways, hot cocoa is done. Wanna watch some movies?" I asked while taking a mug from his hand and poured myself some hot cocoa. "Doesn't have to be Hallmark, I know you hated watching those. There's a Star Wars marathon going today, we can watch that instead."
I turned back to Sky while taking a small sip of my hot cocoa as he said, "Actually, Hallmark sounds nice." I nearly choked as the words filled the air. "You ok?" Sky asked while putting a gentle, yet firm hand on my shoulder.
"Did I just hear you say that you want to watch and I quote "that sappy shit?"," I asked while brushing his hand off my shoulder. When Sky nodded I almost passed out. Sky, of all people is actually willing to watch a Hallmark movie, and we're not even dating anymore!
"Why do you sound so shock?" He asked with a very confused look on his face. "Hallmark as grown on me in the past few months."
"Let me guess, you and Rose watched it and you learned to actually like it?" I asked quietly, while ignoring the sound of my heart shattering into s million tiny pieces.
"Rose hated hallmark and I'd usual watch it by myself. That and it drives Ben and Josh crazy," he replied with a small laugh.
"Why are you watching sappy stuff if a girl isn't forcing you?" I asked while placing a hand on my hip. I remember when I used to force Sky to watch those movies he'd always complain about it being boring, so it's hard to believe he's actually willing this time when there's a Star Wars marathon playing.
"Do you want to watch movies or question what I do in my free time?" Sky asked while leaning forward a bit so now we were eye and eye.
"Both," I replied with a small smirk.
"You haven't changed at all Masson," Sky said with that smirk.
"Neither have you Flaherty," I replied.
