Love at First Sight
Sky's POV
"So, Rebel broke it off and Chase is moving to LA?" I asked as Brook and I walked around the corner.
"Yep," She replied as we made our way into the rehearsal room.
"What about Logan?" I asked. I know Brook used to have a huge crush on Logan when she was younger, and I'm not sure if she still does. I mean it does show she likes him sometimes, and other times it's just awkward.
"Complicated," was all she said.
Before I could say anything the director yelled, "Masson! I've got an idea to make it look like you and Williams actually tolerate each other."
"I wouldn't say I can't-" Brook began, but she was cut off.
"Do you remember the duet you did with Williams?" I'm starting to think that this director used to be a football coach or something. The way he talks to us, and how he calls us by our last name, and if that isn't reason enough then too bad for you.
"Which one?" Brook asked. Wait, Brook has done more than one duet with Logan? Stop acting like that's a shock! You know Brook was Logan's dance partner.
"Blake space," Logan said while walking up to us.
"I did some research and you two had perfect chemistry!" Well that doesn't sting. Stop! You're the understudy! And might I also added you need to keep this new relationship professional. That and do you really want to risk losing Brook again?! You just got her to start talking to you again and you aren't going to ruin that now.
"Think we can do it again?" Logan asked shyly. I looked over Brooklyn, and could see the gears turning in her head.
"Ok," she said quietly. Well, I'm not sure how I feel about this. I love seeing Brook dance, but if this ends up being our old feelings then....stop, you don't have feelings for her anymore.
Everyone in the cast of Mamma Mia gathered around to watch Brook and Logan dance. Brook had her back towards the mirrors with her hands on her hips and her right knee was bend out. Her sweater was tied around her waist perfectly, and her hair was in a ponytail she was wearing that morning.
Logan was waiting by the other side of the room looking a little nervous. When the music started Brook started moving her shoulders to the beat of he drum before turning around and started dancing. Logan joined in and I'd be lying to myself if I said they didn't make a great pair. They danced amazingly together, and Brook took well to playing the crazy girlfriend. Even though she was never a crazy girlfriend to begin with.
At the line "I'm a nightmare dressed with a daydream" Brook tore off the sweater in a dramatic way. I'll have to look up the full routine to see that means. But if I'd have to guess Brook had a pull off skirt of her costume or something.
Which reminds me.
I still remember the day first time I ever laid eyes on her.
Flashback
"A five hour drive to a dance competition all the way across town," I complained. "Stuck between Ben and Josh. Chaz! I call shotgun on the way back!" I said.
"UGH!" Chaz groaned.
"Stop complaining, the ride wasn't that bad," Nick said.
"You were driving!" I shouted. "Not to mention you were speeding like you robbed a bank!" Honestly I have no idea why I came. All I know is that Nick's sister is in town for a dance competition. Nick wanted to surprise her and asked if we wanted to come along too. But, he didn't tell us it was five f$&?ing hours away from the theater!
I was stuck in a small space between Ben and Josh! It's never a good idea to sit between those two. So in other words it was a very painful ride. I really hope this is worth it cause once this is over it's another five hour ride back to the theater.
"Did we make it in time?" Chaz asked as we all walked inside and took our seats.
"Next up we have Dylan in the hip-hop category with Boom."
"I'd say that's a yes," Nick replied. "Dylan is Brooklyn's best friend." In the darkness I saw a slight shade of pink spread across Nick's face. Dude, are you sure this Dylan girl is your sister best friend and nothing else? I'd say that's a big fat no. But I have no experience in crushing on my siblings friends, or my friends siblings. And I don't plan on it anytime soon, actually I don't plan on it period. That's a road you never want to go down.
Anyways, the competition went on, each performance was better than the last, until finally the announcer said, "next up we have the Brooklyn aka the Tornado in the lyrical jazz category with Black Magic." Just as a girl came out wearing a black cap and dance shoes.
"Tornado?" I asked.
"That's Brooklyn's nickname since she's literally a human tornado," Nick replied. I nodded before turning my attention back to the stage. When the music stared all I can say was that Brooklyn started to blow up the stage.
Soon enough the cap came off and what I saw was sandy brown curly hair with purple streaks and a little glitter. Her eyeshadow was sliver with bold liner and mascara, with purple gems around them. A darkish purple color that had a little shine to it stained her lips. Her costume was black shorts that had little purple gems here and there, a black corset and a white shirt that made her look like a witch. She had a little wand and a small potion bottle that was shaped like a heart. The contents of the bottle was well...purple and sparkly.
Her focus was mostly on the judges, but I'm also sure she quickly glanced at me for a moment with a playful smirk. Which I guessed was a part of the whole act. When she finished she walked off the stage like she owned it. Which she did. After that I couldn't focus on anything else but Brooklyn's dance.
"Sky!"
"What?" I asked quickly.
"C'mon, we're going back stage to met the girls before the group dance," Josh explained.
"Ok," I said before getting up and following everyone else to the dressing rooms. I would say we didn't get lost, but we did. All because Ben had to do to the bathroom and Josh wanted chips form the vending machine.
"Which room did Nick say it was again?" I asked.
"329," Josh replied.
"No, it's 189!" Chaz replied.
"329 is right down the hall, let's go see if I'm right. Which I am," Josh said before marching off to the room. Since Josh is Well....Josh, he threw open the doors and was met by a bunch of screaming girls before running away.
We all chased after him up the hallways, pushing past very confused people until Ben screamed, "I found them!"
We all stopped running before going running into the right room. "I told you it was 189 and not 329!" Chaz yelled while slapping Josh upside the head.
"Nick who are these dummies?" A pretty voice asked. The girl in question was looking at all of us weirdly, I don't blame her. Here we are, a bunch of guys bursting into a dressing room full of girls who don't know who we were.
"Oh, I hope you don't mind, but I brought some of the guys from the tour. Brook, this is Ben, Josh, Chaz and Sky," Nick said. When their names were called they either waved or smiled. "Guys, this is my twin sister Brooklyn, and theses are her friends, Dylan, Zoey, Julia and Alex."
"Hey it's nice to finally meet you Brooklyn, Nick talks about you a lot," I said with a smile. The more I looked at Brooklyn, the more I realize how much she actually looked like Nick. Same skin and hair color, same blueish eyes, same built, but what stuck out the most was probably Brooklyn's freckles, which were dotted under her eyes perfectly. She was in a completely different costume then the one before. Instead of looking like a witch she looked like she cane form the 50s. She was wearing A little blue mini poodle skirt and a white short sleeve shirt, with her hair in a mid ponytail. It actually made her kinda cute if I'm being honest here. "You're an amazing dancer, I can see why they call you the tornado," I said while rubbing the back of my neck.
"I'm...thanks, and you can call me "Brook" if you want," she replied shyly. She's kinda cuter then I thought she'd be. Now I'm not saying I'd date her seeing as 1, she's Nick's sister, and 2, after today I probably won't see her again. Brooklyn's nice and all, and she is kinda cute. But I wouldn't date her.
"So!" Nick yelled very loudly. Dude, any louder and you'll case a avalanche. After that my mind kinda blanked out of what was happening. My main focus was on Brook and how she's a lot more prettier than what I thought she'd be. The way Nick talks about her I was half expecting a girl who's a bit shorter, and is constantly punching people in the arm at everything they say.
I was so out of it that the next thing I knew was that I was being pushed out of the room. "What happened?" I asked .
"We got kicked out by Nick's baby sister," Josh replied with a huff.
"Let's go back to our seats," Nick suggested. "We can come back after the group dance." We all headed back to our seats and waited for the group dance to start. Which wasn't very long in my opinion. Through out the whole thing I kept my eyes on Brook and her big smile as she danced around on stage.
I couldn't take my eyes off her for one second. Her smile was so big it made her eyes shine brighter than the stars.
Wait what?
Ok, get a hold of yourself. You just met the girl, it's not like you'll actually met her again anytime soon. When she goes back to New York that's it, tonight will be the last time you see her so stop while you're ahead.
