A Stupid Mistake

Brooklyn's POV

"Sky!" I yelled without taking my eyes off my phone. When there was no answer I went a head and yelled, "Sky!" Again, no answer. "SCHUYLER FLAHERTY!"

"What!?" Sky yelled back as he walked up to the bed. "I was in the bathroom having-"

"I don't need to know about that," I cut off. Seriously, I love this dork, but he needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut.

"So, what's so important that you had to tell three times?" He asked

"Nick and Dylan did something really stupid," I replied. "Apparently they um....they got drunk. Really drunk. I even have a video. Nick drunk texted me" I then showed a video that my butt head brother sent me. Sky's eyes went wide as the video went on. This is why I'm waiting till my twenty-one. Just because I'm in Canada doesn't mean I have to do it. "Let's go find them before they end up in real jail."

With that being said we grabbed our stuff and headed out into the city. Only problem was that there are two drunk teens walking around the city and those two teens just so happen to my by twin brother and best friend. Great, even with Sky and the toursies and the girl's help. It was going to be almost in possible to find them.

"Don't worry, we'll find them," Sky said in a soothing tone while wrapping his arm around me. Just having him there by my side and feeling his arm around me made every thing seem right. I looked up at him and smiled weakly. While it hasn't been long since we've gone out to look for Nick and Dylan, I still felt the knot in my stomach and a what if kept swirling around in my head. Over and over again.

About a few hours later, there was still no sign of Nick and Dylan. With the whole cast and the girl's looking we had covered good ground. But so far. Nothing. I was starting to get worried. Who knows what could've happened. But I guess the real question is...why did they got out and get some drinks. If I know those two, they aren't ones to go out and get drunk. Most because they're both underage. That's it. I'm never coming to Canada again. Not until I'm twenty-one. Hey, I may be eighteen but that doesn't mean I going to make stupid mistakes.

"Maybe they went back to the hotel," Sky suggested while pulling me closer to his side. "We've looked every already. Plus everyone else is still looking. It wouldn't to check." I only nodded. In fact I've barely said anything since. "We'll find them."

"And once we do, I'm kicking both their asses," I replied. Sky laughed and I had the smallest smile came on my face.

______

Luckily Sky was rooming with Nick, so hopefully he would be there with Dylan. Passed out somewhere in the room.

As we got closer to the room I heard giggling from behind the door. I looked over at Sky, who shrugged. Soon enough there was another giggle and a "Shh, you're gonna get us caught". Sky only looked at me again before quickly getting the room key. It took a few tries to open the door but as soon as that red light turned green and I opened that door. My eyes went wide at just what I saw. I blinked a couple of times to see if it was real. Which it was. Right there on the bed there was a very giggly Dylan on the bed with Nick (without a shirt) laying right on top of her while sucking a hickey right onto her neck.

"NICHOLAS MASSON!" I yelled at the top of my lungs making both Nick and Dylan look at me. "Just what do you think you're doing. Same goes for you Dylan James!"

"Relax lil sis," Nick said brushing it off as Dylan started sucking a hickey onto his neck. "One sec babe," Nick said to Dylan. She giggled and said, "Ok hot stuff." Yeah, I'm just going to act like that didn't just...and now I know how Nick feels when Sky and I are doing that. Note to self, don't act flirty with Sky in front of Nick ever again.

Nick was now standing in front of me as he said, "Sides, you always say you wanted us together."

"Not like this," I replied. "In the morning you won't even remember. Both of you won't! And the only thing you'll have in any memory is a nasty hang over." I replied. He didn't even seem that drunk. Neither did Dylan. Well, besides the giggling of course.

"Brooklyn, Brooklyn, Brooklyn," Dylan said while sitting up straight. "Poor, little innocent Brooklyn, you don't know the half." she then giggled. "The truth is we've been secretly dating for the past....nine months."

"N-nine months?" I asked quietly. "You've been keeping a secret from me for nine months?"

"Brooklyn, that's just the alcohol talking," Sky whispered in my ear. But is it. Is it really?

"That's the cold hard truth lil sis," Nick replied with a smirk.

"Nick, you're drunk, you don't know what you're saying," I said while taking a small step closer. Which I shouldn't have done because the next thing I knew I was on the ground.

"What the hell Nick!" Sky yelled. "You just pushed your sister. The girl you're always so protective of."

"She's your problem now," Nick replied.

"How can you say that?" Sky asked. I saw him start to make a fist with both hands.

I quickly got up and took a fist into my hand and whispered in his ear, "Sky, remember his drunk. Everything may seem fine but it's just the alcohol talking. And what ever you do, don't get into a fight. Just, me talk to him." Sky nodded and I carefully went in front of Nick. I could feel Sky's hand on my back. Just knowing Sky's there is things get ugly makes me feel a bit better.

"Nick, listen to me. You're drunk, so please, come with me and everything will be fine," I said softly. the next thing I know it was all a blur.

Sky's POV

"Look who's finally awake," I said with a small laugh. But on the inside I was hoping Brook didn't remember anything that happened last night. Last night was well....let's just say I never seen Brook cry as much as I did last night.

"Why am I in a hospital?" Brook asked weakly as she sat up straight. I opened my mouth to say something. But nothing came out. Brook's face fell, and at that moment I knew she remembered everything.

"Why?" she asked quietly. I opened my mouth to say something. But nothing came out. For once in my life I couldn't come up with a cover story or an answer. "Why would they kept this secret from me?" Brook's eyes started to water. Before I knew it tears started to spill down her cheeks. She started to shake and I could tell this was more than Brook was telling. I got off the chair and sat down on the bed. I pulled Brook into a hug. I didn't know what to say or do. All I really could do was just be there for her.

Brooklyn then started to feel very tense. I pulled away and saw her eyes were wide and her face was blank. I turned around and saw Nick was standing in the doorway. I looked back at Brook to see she was looking down at her hands.

"Brook I-"

"Go away," she whispered.

"I just-"

"Nick just go away and leave me alone!" Brook yelled. She started to shake and a few more tears fell down her cheek. I heard the door close and that's when Brooklyn lost it.

"Hey, hey," I said while brushing away her tears. "Nobody should be crying on their birthday."

"That was today?" Brook asked quietly. I nodded with a small smile. "I'm not really in a birthday mood." after that I tried to get her to feel better. But nothing seemed to work. Brooklyn just wasn't herself. Last night really shook her up. I tried telling her it was just all a drunk mistake. But she wouldn't listen to me. Then again she's never listen to me. So why was now any different.

Nick's POV

"Well, we messed up," I said.

"We messed up, or you messed up?" Dylan asked. "You're the one who wanted to keep this." she gestured between us. "A secret."

"You're right," I sighed. "I messed up. Should've told her we're dating." I wanted to tell Brooklyn, I really did. I just didn't know how or when. When I wanted to tell her, it was never the right time, place, something popped up or she's already doing something with Sky. It seems like that's all Brook ever does now is hang around Sky. Or talking about Sky, or just...It's always Sky and Brooklyn now. That's all people talk about. How cute Sky and Brooklyn are. Well newsflash people, it was Nick and Brooklyn long before Sky came around.

"I wanted tell her. I really did. But you always said it wasn't a good idea. Why?" Dylan asked while putting her hand on top of mine.

"Because, it's weird alright. What am I supposed to say? "Hey Brook, just so you know I'm dating your best friend. Ok? Ok good talk, bye". She'd freak!" I exclaimed.

"So, you'd rather have her find out when you-" before Dylan could finish I gave her a look. She groaned and said, "When we were dunk?" I didn't reply to that. it goes why deeper than that. Dylan wouldn't understand. Nobody would. "This goes deeper then just telling Brook. Doesn't it?"

"No," I replied while standing up. "The point is Brook, my twin sister hates me. Probably for life and just with today being our birthday it only makes things that much harder. Today is the one day out of the year where we'd always have twin time. Not in with. Brook stuck in a hospital! She hates this place to no end!"

"You were drunk," Dylan replied sweetly. "We both were. We both said things to Brook we shouldn't have."

"And I was so close to slugging Sky. Form what I'm told at leafs." I added. "If Brook didn't have enough reasons to hate me, she can add me punching her boyfriend."

"She hates me too you know," Dylan reminded me. Her blue eyes were washed in a sea of sadness. Something I never thought I'd see. "I've known her for pretty much my whole life. You think you're having a hard time, well, I am too so just...you should've told her!" Dylan yelled while standing up. "I told you something bad would happen, and I was right."

"When you said we were going for a walk I didn't think it'd be here." I turned around and saw Sky was dragging Brook over to where Dylan and I were.

"I think you three have some talking to do," Sky said seriously.

"I don't have anything to say to them," Brook snapped before looking away.

"Fine, if you won't talk I will," I said. "Brook, I wanted to tell you. I really did. But it was never the right place or time. Either that or you were busy doing something with Sky."

"Brook, I wanted to tell you the moment Nick and I got together, but we both agreed it was better to wait," Dylan added. "You really weren't supposed to find out the way you did. We were gonna tell you tonight."

"And about the things I said. I don't remember much, but I know enough that....just know I'm sorry Brook. We both are," I said. Brook didn't say anything. When I saw the cast on her arm my heart sank. That was there because of me. When I pushed her, and her arm hit something. "How're you feeling?"

"I'm ok," Brook replied quietly without making eye contact. "I can't perform even if I wanted too. Doctor said after I got that hit in the head I should stay off the stage for a day or so." She then looked up me. I saw her eyes were red and puffy. She was crying because of me. "So thanks a lot Nick. Really thanks. I never liked acting anyways. That's your thing. I get that." Brook then walked - actually she off to who knows where. I went after her of course. Sometimes I forget how fast Brook can be when she wants to. When I caught up to her I held onto her shoulders so she couldn't get away.

"I'm sorry, alright!" I yelled. "I don't remember what happened last night. But I know enough that what happened was bad. Really bad. I should've told you when I had the chance. And don't be made at Dylan, I talked her into keeping it a secret."

"Why didn't you tell me," Brook asked. "I would've been ok with it. Sure, I may have teased you about it. But at least I'd be happy for you. And sportive." I sighed. I know that's Brook's way of telling me I screwed up. And boy, did I screw up big time.

"Ever think it's weird to know that my friend and sister are dating?!"

"I get it, alright!" Brook yelled while pushing me away. "You never liked the idea of me dating Sky. Well guess what? You don't have to tell me cause I get it! You really think I don't see you rolling your eyes whenever Sky's being really sweet? Well I do. Believe me I do. Why can't you just be happy for me! I actually found someone who cares about me, and doesn't just think of me as your little sister. Because that's all everyone ever thinks of me is just your little sister! I tried of everyone comparing me to you. I get it. I'll never be as good in anything you do! I just so stick of being in your shadow all the time just...from now on you live your life, I'll live mine and we leave each other alone."

"Brooklyn," was all I said. Looks like there's more to Brook's story too.

"We may be twins but I just can't do this anymore." Brooklyn then turned around and began to walk away. But she stopped and turned her head around to say, "I hope you're having a happier birthday then I am." Then she ran away.
