Merry Matsu Christmas

You hummed as you waited for several cakes to bake in the oven. Only a few hours until closing at the Lucky Clover, and they definitely felt brutal. All of those last minute Christmas customers getting in something before everything closes. Most of them were couples, enjoying their time with each other. You adored every single person, expressions filled with joy as they walked in and walked out. That was just the feeling of this time of year.

"Good god~ They just keep coming! I want to close down already!" Yuna whined setting down a silver platter. She leaned over the counter acting dramatic, you could only sigh.

"Don't be like that Yuna. Don't you enjoy seeing everyone so festive? I kind of like it. Christmas in Japan is definitely different." You remarked, Yuna could only scowl.

"(Y/n)-chan you always impress me with your work ethic. I thought you would be as desperate as me to get home. You at least have 6 guys waiting for you~" She commented, her voice trailing off melodically. She even wiggled her eyebrows for emphasis. All of her gestures made you blush deeply.

"Y-Yuna! Stop that!"

"No way! I'm surprised you haven't fallen for them yet. Maybe they're saving it for the mistletoe." She said leaning back on the counter. Your hands went to your face trying to hide the redness, you could practically feel your own heat. It only made Yuna grin and laugh out loud; oh how embarrassed you felt. She ruffled your hair grabbing more Christmas themed desserts you left out.

"I was just kidding, but from your reaction..I can tell you're expecting it. Tell me everything when it happens~" She said before leaving through the door. You whined into your hands, letting them fall to your side. The red was still heavy on your face, but you let it eventually fade. Despite Yuna's teasing, yes you were happy. Because finally there was a family waiting for you for Christmas, a family you would enjoy spending the holidays with. For that was better than any gift. Your lips twitched to a smile just at the thought, and you were left dazed. Until the ringer loudly brought you back to reality. You felt eager, and took the desserts, ready to decorate them again.
---------------------------------

Another hour went by, just half an hour more until closing time. Yuna still complained to you about her troubles with working during Christmas Eve. You could only pat her head and nod, although you still didn't agree with her. The liveliness of the cafe started to die down as the last of the customers came. The work started to dull down as well, most of the tables and chairs stacked up. Yuna became excited, however, a drastic change to her earlier mood because the time to leave finally came drawing near. The door bell jingled softly, and the Matsu brothers came walking in.

"Ohh (Y/n)-chan~ Look who's here." Yuna teased pointing to the colorful clad brothers at the doorway. You ignored her teasing, trying to not make your cheeks burn as you greeted them.

"Hey guys!" You waved jovially.

"(Y/n)-chan!" They exclaimed back as happy as you were.

"We came to pick you up (Y/n)-chan!" Jyushimatsu exclaimed flapping his arms around, his actions always got a laugh out of you.

"Ok Jyushimatsu-san, closing time is in half an hour."

They nodded and got themselves a booth to wait for you. This became a routine really, they would wait the last half an hour for you. Just to walk you home. They really became considerate over the time you stayed at their home. Matsuno and Matsuyo kept calling it an upcoming Christmas miracle of their slight change in behavior. It was amusing to you also kind of...sweet.
----------------------------------

The time rolled by quickly and Yuna cheered running out and bidding you farewell. You went outside where the Matsus waited for you, and walked back home with them. It was great to see the streets not overly decorated for Christmas, plus it was white everywhere because of the snow. You loved it, it decorated the streets like sugar and it gleamed in the sunlight. Everything this time of year was so appealing in your eyes.

"Hey hey (Y/n)-chan! Are you excited to see Santa?!" Jyushimatsu asked. You could see the childlike awe in his eyes, you weren't surprised. Jyushimatsu always had the childlike imagination with him.
You nodded hesitantly, "S-Sure Jyushimatsu-san." He cheered at your words and started chanting Santa over and over.

"Ah~ Jyushimatsu always being a little kid. Doesn't he know there's no such thing as Santa?" Osomatsu said that out loud, and on purpose, thank goodness Jyushimatsu couldn't hear them.

"Let him have his fun." You scolded Osomatsu.

"He's like this every year." Ichimatsu said.

"But Osomatsu-nii san, what about last year? Didn't Jyushimatsu capture Santa?" Todomatsu asked. You nearly jumped at that question; Jyushimatsu did what?!

"I still can't believe that was his goal." Choromatsu muttered, even his voice was in disbelief.

"No matter. I'm hoping for this year that I get what I want for Christmas. A romantic love scene happening just when the mood sets in." Karamatsu said. He hummed as he imagined the scene while you all cringed. All year round was nothing but painful around him. But Osomatsu hummed along with him in thought.

"He does have a point." He said casually appearing next to you and slinging his arm over your shoulder.
"This year just won't be us guys." He grinned as he faced you.

"Hey (Y/n)-chan, won't you fulfill my Christmas wish?" He said drawing himself closer. His voice drew back in a husky whisper and you couldn't help but blush. Your expression changed to shock. Osomatsu suddenly let out a choking sound as Choromatsu yanked him back; Ichimatsu and Todomatsu simultaneously hitting him near his ribs.

"Stop forcing yourself on her shitty eldest brother." Choromatsu growled out, holding him by the back collar of his clothing. He had an intimidating aura around him making people stare, even shiver.

"T-Thanks Choromatsu-san." He blushed due to the softness of your voice and dropped Osomatsu in a flustered state. You shivered yourself as you could feel the temperature drop and the night sky start to appear. Todomatsu took the opportunity and slipped your hand into his.

"Let me warm your hand up (Y/n)-chan." He winked at you, once again you could feel your cheeks burn. But you had to admit, the warmth that spread from holding another person's hand felt nice; Comforting even. Ichimatsu glared and spotted your other free hand, and he couldn't help himself. He took it abruptly, only to face the other side and not look in your eyes.

"Y-Your other hand s-seemed c-cold s-so.." He stuttered horribly, and you could feel his hand shaking. You squeezed it giving a small smile. He blushed heavily, and his ears produced steam, he wanted to curse his shy side for making him like that.

"Ahh!" Osomatsu screamed out pointing at them.
"You bastards taking advantage of the situation. I want to hold her hand too!" He exclaimed suddenly jumping on you from behind. The force almost knocked you over, but thanks to Ichimatsu and Todomatsu you didn't fall face first on the concrete.

"O-Osomatsu-san! I can't walk if you're going to be on top of me!" You cried feeling strained from the sudden weight. Choromatsu tried tugging Osomatsu away from you.
"I-Idiot get off her!"

Then in came a bizarre set of events, Ichimatsu and Todomatsu helped Choromatsu, while screaming at their older brother angrily. Osomatsu and you joined in the screaming. Karamatsu was too deep in his fantasy to notice anything going on, and Jyushimatsu just kept chanting about Santa. This certainly was going to be an interesting Christmas for you.
------------------------------------

You sat around the brothers along with their parents as you sipped on tea and watched Christmas movies. It was a relaxing time, and you enjoyed it. You watched around seeing the brothers interact, occasionally bicker. And even Matsuno and Matsuyo seemed relaxed as they talked with each other. You sighed out quietly leaning back, this felt nice. You thought back to the lonely times you spent with your aunt during Christmas. Even if you loved your aunt, a Christmas without your closest family just wasn't the same. You breathed out, letting those painful times go out with it. That was then, this was now.

"(Y/n)-chan!" Jyushimatsu hugged you as you were sitting. His mouth open smile was as wide as ever.

"Yes Jyushimatsu-san?" You asked with a slight chuckle at the end.

"Will you wait for Santa with me? Let's wait for Santa! I want to see Santa!" He exclaimed speaking in fast speech. You blinked, processing his words. Then you sweat dropped, you didn't believe in Santa anymore, but he was looking at you with his shining puppy dog eyes. You hesitated, trying desperately to avoid his cute expression. You were pulled on your free side away from Jyushimatsu.

"No way. (Y/n)-chan and I are spending the night together." Osomatsu said, and he grinned down at you suggestively from above. As always he tended to go to perverted suggestions. You blushed pushing him away.

"Stop that!" You exclaimed.

"Ow!" He exclaimed toppling over, and then received a strong smack from Choromatsu.

"Now that I think about it, what are we doing for Christmas?" Ichimatsu asked. The entire room was silent, for quite a while this silence went on.

"I..." (Y/n) started, closing her eyes as she thought. But she smiled at all of them, eyes still closed.
"I don't mind as long as I can spend the day with all of you. It's nice being a part of a loving family for the holidays." She admitted. Her voice sounded soft and genuine, and it caused heavy blushes on the faces of each of the brothers. They even felt moved to tears by your words, even Ichimatsu, that and they were just really emotional in general. They all gathered around hugging you, even Matsuno and Matsuyo joined in.

"Of course (Y/n)-chan!" Cried the brothers. You blinked confused, but just let them embrace you. It felt secure, like a family hug should.

"Thanks." You said as you could feel the warmth.

"I want you to become my daughter-in-law already." Matsuno said as if he were praying a Christmas wish. Your face blushed heavily upon the comment, and you tried to hide yourself behind your hands. His wife softly smacked him on the head.

"Dear! Don't embarrass poor (Y/n)-chan. Besides that would a Christmas miracle if anything." She said waving her hand dismissively. The brothers felt an arrow pierce through their chest at their mother's comment

"Kaa-san is so mean." Osomatsu remarked. (Y/n), still blushing, just snickered behind her hand.

"Now now, it's just a few hours before Christmas. (Y/n)-chan would you like to help me in the kitchen." Matsuyo asked.

"Alright." You got up and followed her.

As soon as you were gone the brothers huddled around each other whispering. They tried hard to not let Jyushimatsu scream anything out loud.
-------------------------------------

The night came by, everything was quiet. It even started snowing as the air became brisk. You yawned as you stood up from your futon, as you had heard some weird shuffling from the other room. Your suspicions had grown as you looked around with the light of your phone. You peeked in the brothers room, and all you heard was loud snoring. Except something seemed off, Jyushimatsu's spot was empty. Out of the corner of your eye you saw him sitting in the balcony. He still stayed loyal to his Santa hunt and was currently sitting out in the balcony. You sighed, quietly sneaking around the knocked out brothers, picking up a stray blanket and her eyes out to the balcony.

"Jyushimatsu-san, if you're staying outside at least keep yourself warm." You said giving him the blanket. He only smiled widely at you giving an ecstatic expression.

"Thank you (Y/n)-chan!" He exclaimed. You shushed him just to keep his brothers still sleeping, slowly closing the balcony door, and then you joined him.
"Still searching for Santa?" You sat down next to him, he kept his gaze on the stars, his eyes were shining just like a child.

"Yep! He's gonna come like last year!"

You wondered if he was still being serious, what exactly happened last year. You probably didn't want to know so you smiled and nodded. You sat around while Jyushimatsu still focused on the night sky. The hours passed, soon you started falling asleep, your eyes opened and closed; your head nodding up and down. Finally you were just too fatigued, especially since you ended the day working so hard. You fell asleep without a struggle, right onto Jyushimatsu's shoulder. He giggled quietly to himself, slightly moving so you were under the blanket.

"(Y/n)-chan's so cute." He said snuggling next to you.
----------------------------------

Time went on, and even Jyushimatsu started to lose himself to his fatigue. He nodded off several times only to jolt awake. Just as he went off another time, he heard a jingle of bells. His eyes opened, and widened as he saw Santa's outline, high in the sky. He watched in awe as the sleigh passed through the houses, like it did every year. He shook (Y/n), maybe a little too roughly, to waken her.

"E-Eh?? Jyushimatsu-san?!" She exclaimed entirely out of shock from the sudden shaking. Jyushimatsu pointed a finger at the disappearing figure.

"(Y/n)-chan! Look! Santa! It's Santa!"

He jumped up and down laughing a giddy from seeing his idol. (Y/n) rubbed her eyes with her fists, she thought they were playing an illusion on her. She did just wake up. But no, the figure was still there. And she gasped, her jaw dropping in a complete stunned silence.

"S-Santa?!"

"GUYS LOOK SANTA IS HERE!!" Jyushimatsu screamed, and the brothers woke up from their sleep, annoyed.

"Again with that Jyushimatsu?" Osomatsu asked groaning.

"Is it gonna be like this every year?" Choromatsu asked, to no one in particular.

"Guys! I just saw SANTA!" You exclaimed, imitating Jyushimatsu's exact pose as you pointed out the window. The brothers blinked at the same time.

"(Y-Y/n)-chan?" Todomatsu, he sounded worried about you.

"Did Jyushimatsu infect her again?" Osomatsu asked.

The brothers watch you and Jyushimatsu freak out about seeing Santa wondering just what the hell happened on that balcony.
--------------------------------

"IT'S CHRISTMAS!!" Jyushimatsu cheered, still full of energy. The other brothers seemed more tired than usual. Probably because they had to suffer Jyushimatsu's endless banter about Santa. You on the other hand were just as cheerful, humming carols as you made hot drinks for everyone.

"So Jyushimatsu got to meet Santa.." Ichimatsu said looking upon his excited brother.

"But when will our exciting Christmas come?" Osomatsu asked.

"I'm hoping for a romantic Christmas." Karamatsu mumbled, like a silent prayer.

Just then you burst through the door, smile so bright as you brought a tray.
"Here you go guys!" You exclaimed sitting down with them, again with the smile on your face.

"You seem happy." Todomatsu remarked.

"Yes, like I said I just wanted a Christmas with a family, and I got it." You said, tracing the rim of your mug. Your expression looked so serene and so happy. The brothers blushed, each of them gradually getting a smile on their faces themselves. They all glanced at each other nodding. Then they all surrounded you in a small circle.

"Eh?"

"(Y/n)-chan...Merry Christmas!" They exclaimed holding out a big present. You sat shocked, slowly taking the wrapped gift from them. They all looked in anticipation as you ripped the paper off. Your eyes laid upon the gift underneath, and only a gasp could escape you. A huge golden frame, two actually, one of you, your mother, your father; and the other of you and the Matsu family. Everyone looked so happy. It was such a simple, throwaway gift, but it made you so happy. Your throat and eyes burned, already your eyes began to water, slipping from your eyes to your cheeks. Why do much emotion over a simple gift? Well, let's just say the happiness behind it meant a lot to you. You didn't even question how they got the photos, a Christmas miracle perhaps?

And well you were still dirt poor at the time so you didn't get them anything and felt guilty. But that's besides the point. You felt beyond touched.

"You guys...are so sweet..thank you..." You tried to say it normally but your voice kept cracking. Even some hiccups from the breath you held escaped you. The brothers all tackled you in another hug, spreading comfort and security.

"Now now, a princess like you shouldn't have your face stained with tears today~" Karamatsu spoke, his voice even lower than usual if at all possible.

"Shittymatsu don't ruin Christmas with your painful lines." Ichimatsu growled at him.

You sniffed laughing at their usual banter, yes this wasn't a spectacular Christmas, but you loved it anyway. You always appreciated the time with the colorful losers, even if they're not the normal type of company. You couldn't stop the heart racing and the blushing that always appeared around them.

This time of year truly did bring joy.

"Oh (Y/n)-chan, don't think this is the only gift." Osomatsu hummed out making you freeze. He held up a mistletoe brimming a huge grin on his face. The others had their own in hand, looking very similar to Osomatsu. They stalked upon you like predators.

Oh dear God...

"G-Guys.." You stuttered nervously, your eyes fixed on their expressions. You clutched your frames and gulped.

"We all deserve something too." Todomatsu said just as eerily as Osomatsu. They all chuckled as they hugged you. You blushed heavily gulping and shaking. They attacked you pecking you on your cheek and the corner of your lips. You did escape, however, and they ended up chasing you around.

"Come back (Y/n)-chan!" They yelled at you.

"Guuuys! Stooop!" You yelled back as you continued to run.

Yeah...definitely an interesting Christmas indeed.
