marcel truly is a teddy bear. he's very gentle and an overall kind soul. he's not harsh or stuck up. he hates the jock stereotype because it has never fit him. he has been put in the stereotype more than once. it bugs him how people can even assume that he's a douchebag that flexs all of his wins. in reality, he hates bragging. he doesn't see the point in gloating about wins. sure, he loves winning as much as the next person but he doesn't see the point in rubbing it in other's faces. perhaps that's what sets him apart from the rest of the people on his team. he's very kind and cares for the people closet to him. he'll always make sure that they are happy and safe. they are his first priority. he doesn't care what happens to him as long as they are safe. he's extremely protective of them, not wanting anything to happen to them. he doesn't want to lose anybody else.

for as long as marcel can remember it's always been just his mom and him. he barely remembers a thing about his dad since he left when he was three. his mom doesn't like to talk about him so he doesn't bother to ask. he has never wanted to ask anyways. he has never been there for him so he had no reason to ask about him in the first place. he was fine with it just being his mom and him. that's all he needed. his mom worked hard to provide for him and he could see that. as soon as she could, she put him in as many sports as possible. naturally, he was pretty good at anything that he played. she hoped he would continue playing because she knew that she would barely be able to send him to college so this was her only hope. every sport that he played, he played it hard and well. he wanted to make his mom proud and to see her smile. it paid off in the end because he got a scholarship and made his mom proud. that's enough for him.
