The Meeting

"The silhouette of a perfectionist, a sophisticated and highly dignified entity, Bianca Hoppers. One who has given the youth of this generation a boost of energy and inspiration, has yet again proven to be the best in her profession",Her golden-brown strands fell into light curls as they hit her shoulder, her face hidden under them as she sat on the oakwood swing in the balcony of her 15th floor pent house. She stared at her Bugatti, parked in the parking lot of "Paris Towers", her humble apartment.

"A house, one of a kind complete with a smart thermostat, smart lights, robotic lawn care, super home security, command centre and automated electronic devices. It has been a dream like no other..."That was exactly the way she had been introduced in the front pages of the top week magazines. Her pictures in the "white coat" had hit the highway billboards faster than humanly possible, along with strong inspirational sayings accompanied with quotes that were as influential as she had become in the span of a couple of months.

She sat there star-struck by the shimmering rays of light that melted into the darkness of the great black sky, as the clouds seemed to have misted her thoughts with the choices of her life, as if she had lost her strength and was trying to figure out how on earth could she finish doing the laundry, get her robotic lawn cleaner fixed and do a million other chores by the end of the day. She longed to get away and dream of bigger things, bigger than just sitting and doing absolutely nothing like she was demonstrating at the current moment.

She had never been so ideal or even felt the tint of loneliness before. She sat there petting her only companion, her best friend and only family, her pet Siberian husky named Shivers. She had been thinking of a million things since her apartment's entrance had been choked by reporters and interviewers ready to take and spread her zeal with the world...which she wasn't too keen on. Only she knew when she had messed up at different times of her life, how she could have improved her actions and could have, somehow, altered other's reactions, how she had fallen and broken before she had pushed everything at the back of her mind and rose to glory with one or two to support her and her aspirations.

She still found it hilarious sometimes, how she had become one of the most successful of neurosurgeons at such a small age. She looked at her past; what was the point of having all that she had but had no one to share it with?

As she was in deep thoughts of self realization, her eyes flickered to a familiar structure of a lady... Her walk! It reminded her of someone so close, yet, so far away...atleast had been close. She couldn't believe it, it would have been five years since the incident had occured... her past couldn't haunt her again, could it? NO, It just couldn't be. It just wasn't possible. Was it truly Ariana Somerfield? Her classmate from High-school?

No, it wasn't possible at all, she shook her head with a shudder of reminiscence, all the good and bad she had been through with her, all the betryal, hurt had come rushing to her. She decided to drop the thought and went into the kitchen to get some treats for Shivers.

***

"Shivers, stop it! What do you think you're doing? Okay now... just stop it this instance or you won't get any treats!"Her voice echoed through the empty hall, tearing apart the silence.Shivers ran about the house and jumped on all those white couches, while she went around the entire house, probably ...no, certainly screaming like a maniac.

The same old usual thing he did when he was super excited. But, this time it was unusual, he had this twinkle in his deep blue eyes just the way he used to have when he was a pup. A jolly good time that was, she thought, taking in a deep breath.Every vacation, she would just ponder about the park on the sunny summer evenings, basking under the sun and allowing it to bless her sweet days, it was and had always been just her and Shivers.

She wiped a nostalgic tear before her inner self inturrupted her memories,"OK, Bianca stop your dog before he breaks the entire house down!", it whisper shouted. She had learnt to talk to herself and question herself more.

Just at that moment, the doorbell rang and it wasn't surprising since she had ordered pizzas from " Papelli", from where she usually got her favourite, mouthwatering pizzas. The saviours of the day..the pizzas had finally come...she felt like laying down red carpets for their grand entry. They certainly deserve some respect! They were the best things to be invented, according to her, apart from cakes, chocolates, cookies, chips, candies...never mind, the list would just go on forever, and if someone questioned her...how do we put it nicely?...diet, she would always say, "I am a doctor but I am definitely not a nutritionist." She basically lived on junk food.Well, to be frank, food is the best the way it is, it is healthy the way it is, hence, no one could actually confront her on that.

As the doorbell rung for the second time, Shivers became uncontrollable! He pounced towards the door and scratched it with an annoying screeching noise. Wow, now she had failed to understand even her companion, she muttered to herself, "What a pity girl, what a pity."

Just as she opened the door after dragging Shivers out of the way, she noticed a lady standing in front of her, she looked about her age. Her dark hazel nut coloured hair was tied at the back. Her eyes were deep brown, close to black and the smile she carried was sweet and warm. She looked familiar for some reason. She wore huge black rimmed glasses and on looking at her, she gave an expression indescribable. Bianca turned her head around, looking inside the house to see if there was someone else behind her whom she was giving the expression, which, I personally think was stupid of her considering the fact that she lived in a house comprising of only her and her other half, Shivers...OH...Her bad....she WAS giving that, 'I missed you' expression to the one and only...Bianca.

Applause everyone, give her a standing ovation. Before, she could utter a word

(Thud, boom, screech, smash)

That was the worst way one could welcome someone or something as important and well established as pizzas. Remember the red carpet idea? She took it out from her head, crumbled it and threw it into the dustbin 14 floors below. And to answer the million dollar question as to what exactly had happened...Well,Shivers, apparently, came running towards her like Bolt and smashed her. She, inturn, smashed the lady and the lady, unfortunately, smashed all her pizzas on the floor! She was so embarrassed that she could feel the blood rushing into her face and her ears turned red with shame. She stood up slowly, no, not out of a shock that the hit actually happened, but because she probably had a broken backbone because of Shivers' tribal attack. She gave a hand to the lady in order to lift her up while she was busy cracking up and imaging the scenario once again in her head. She too stood up slowly because, yeah...Bianca sort of fell on top of her because of Shivers's bang.

Shivers, in the mean time had successfully bathed the mystery lady in saliva while she gave him the tightest hug anyone could give a very, very, very hyperactive dog."Wait, am I the only one standing clueless and trying to figure out the reason behind the big reunion?", she thought to herself and I would certainly call it big because all of this happened in the corridor and her nasty, nosy neighbours had come out to see if she was, unfortunately, still alive.

Exaggeration? No it isn't. Her neighbours did hate her a lot because they couldn't create gossips about her, as, she was rich, famous, alone, an established neurosurgeon, kind, helpful and definitely not nosy like them. They hated anyone and everyone who never disclosed things about themselves, i.e., introverts, and she was the biggest one.

"I am extremely sorry for the huge crash that happened right now.", Bianca apologized."Oh, that's alright! Shivers has always been jumpy.", the lady said laughing.

"How do you know Shivers?", she asked like an idiot, which, she probably was."Bianca, don't you say that! Don't you love CORNflakes!"Oh my god, could someone please stay behind her so that when she fainted she didn't fall on the floor!

"Cornfield.... I mean Somerfield? How are you and why are you delivering my pizzas?"

"Thank god you remember me or else I would have killed you by now! I am fine and FYI, I am a pizza delivery girl and that is my job"Ariana Somerfield, the most wanted girl in high-school, extrovert, smart, witty and well known for her sassiness is now a pizza delivery girl! Wow, things had surely changed drastically, she thought.

"When on Earth did YOU get these dorky glasses! This is insane, I hardly recognise you! Remove them this instant missy. You know you look deadly with them." she said laughing and poking her in the sides."Bianca stop tickling me! You know how I hate it"

"At least, you haven't changed in that aspect."

"Well, even Josh hasn't changed in your aspect!"Oh no, she remembered! Why, why did she have to have such good memory. No...

"pftt...I don't know who you are talking about." She said, waving her hand in the air which proved that she was definitely lying, because, her face did muster into the shape of a sqeezed mouse as she tried to cover up her lie with that deadly smile sort of thing. Believe me when I say that it wasn't a pleasant sight to come across. She knew exactly who Ariana was talking about.

"And here we go again. Someone's cheeks need treatment Bianca! Can you call the ambulance!", and she definitely gave the evil giggle only she owned in the entire universe.
