                    AS IRONIC AS IT WAS, Veda Langley loved the ocean ever since she was a little girl and that's what scared her mother. The women in her family had power mixed in with their blood and came from a long line of hybrids that had the defensive powers of a common Mermaid and the fetal powers of a Siren.

The ocean was a lot like her. Calm and beautiful, yet angry—harsh, and magnificent. Deadly. The power usually skipped a generation and the last person to develop the power was her mother. That cycle broke with Veda. It was like she was made for this.

Veda was a bright, blinding light and everyone around her were moths. She was magnetic. She was beautiful. Insanely beautiful. About eight months ago, Veda was swimming in the lake behind her home in Maine. Out of nowhere—she began to tingle. Her nails grew sharp and iridescent scales spread throughout her legs. She was in complete terror.

Her mother knew she didn't have to worry about this happening to Veda and since she had her own powers under control, the small family moved out of Beacon hills. But now, going back was necessary.

Stiles Stilinski had died and come back to life and now, he was a teenage boy in shambles. In ruins. He never knew what was real or fake anymore. He didn't know if she was real or just a figment of his imagination. A girl he made up. The girl with the dark hair, the darling smile, the sweet yet bone-chilling voice, and the bright blue eyes. The girl he couldn't help but be intrigued by.

He was having insane dreams that he wasn't sure he ever woke up from. At first, they would start off as nightmares that she showed up in. Her lips would be bloody, she'd feel cold to the touch, she'd show him her sharp teeth and her eyes that turned white. She was incredibly terrifying in those dreams but somehow, he could tell she never wanted to scare him.

His fear of her slowly vanished and now, he was kissing and holding her. Then, she'd turn into dust in his arms and that's when the nightmare started. And she was nowhere to be found. Until the next dream.

What does it mean to miss something you've never truly had? It was something about her. How she was the perfect mix of horror and sweetness. But she was only horror when she needed to be or when she couldn't control it. Stiles convinced himself that nothing was real anymore, not even Veda. No girl like that can ever exist.

No matter how infatuated he was with her and fell in love with the half goddess half hell complex, she wasn't real. But one, day she walked into his history class, and to him, it was a hallucination. Or a dream again. And he felt even crazier when everyone else saw her too.

Scott could smell the bit of evil in her from miles away and the duo was now determined to figure her out. Who was this girl and where did she come from? All Stiles knew that something about this was meant to be.

Veda Langley drove Stiles Stilinski crazy. Her beauty made him ache. Even though he didn't truly know if he was still dreaming at the moment, she was his dream girl (literally and figuratively) and he just had to know her.

That girl would be the death of everyone.
