Renna
I didn't wait for Ian's reply because I knew he must be asleep. I woke up, canceled the morning run plan, and decided to go to Tappa Italiana because they had been calling me to meet them in person. God knows why. I smiled at a girl standing at the reception. "I am here for Miss Lorenzo."
A tall and blonde girl came to me and held out her hand. "I am Aurora Lorenzo and you must be Renna."
We shook hands and she added. "And please call me Aurora."
I nodded. "Alright, Aurora, here is the thing: I have no idea how to organize a birthday party so do your best but please keep in mind don't go extravagant in any section."
Aurora squinted. "Actually, we received a payment from Kev Moller's account."
I nodded. "Yeah, he is the birthday boy."
My phone buzzed and it was a message from Ian. I immediately stood up. "I should leave because I am getting late for my job. Please feel free to call in case."
Aurora nodded. "Yeah, since you left everything on me, I'll ask if I think its needed."
I stormed out of the restaurant and unlocked my phone. "I am happy you made this decision."
I sat down on a nearby bench and took a deep breath before typing my response. "But I don't want to rush for anything."
Ian replied within a minute. "We are on the same page."
Ian asked in another text. "Can we meet?"
I smiled. "No, it's time for my job at Boyd."
When I reached the store, Boyd looked at me. "Someone is happy this morning."
I kept my phone in a pocket and nodded. "Yes, I am."
Boyd told me he had to go out of the city for today and I told him I'd take care of the store. Ian asked at 1. P.m. "Can we meet now?"
I sent him a sad emoticon. "Boyd is out of the city."
I waited for his response, then I thought he must have gotten busy in the gym. A few minutes later, he was standing right in front of me. I was taken aback. "What are you doing here?"
Ian tucked my hair behind my ear. "Aren't you happy to see me?"
My heart skipped a beat when he did that to me. words died in my throat. Ian called my name. "Renna, what happened?"
I cleared my throat and shook my head. "Of course, I am happy but we can't talk or do anything because I am busy."
Ian winked at me. "I am here to help you and nothing more."
Ian and I barely talked, but he was roaming around the store, making me smile, I feel protected, valued, and loveable with him. We had lunch together in a store. When Boyd came in the evening, he told me I could leave early today.
Ian looked at the time. "Do you mind if we walk?"
I squinted. "Where we gonna go?"
Ian squared his shoulders. "To Galaxy."
I sighed and walked past him. Ian asked. "Where are you going?"
I opened the gate. "I thought we were going for a walk."
While walking, Ian held my hand, and I looked at him with wide eyes. "I told you I don't want to rush."
Ian stopped and turned to me. "In today's world, if I am only holding your hand, that means we are going slow."
Ian kept holding my hands and resumed walking. I initiate the conversation like always. "Ian, I have never been in a serious relationship."
Ian squinted. "But you told me your relationship is the reason you moved here."
I shook my head. "It was traumatic but not the serious one."
Ian nodded. "Tell me something else about yourself."
I squared my shoulders. "Ask me anything."
Ian sighed. "Hmm tell me about your family."
I told him about my rough relationship with Mom and Dad, at what age I left their home; skip Logan's episode. My terrible habit of bailing out at the last moment in every relationship I had, I also tell him I love my sisters, but no one knows I am in Glisten. Before he shot another question, I asked him. "What about your family?"
Ian looked at the sky. "I don't know anything about my birth parents. Father Fredrick found me at the gate of the church with a note "HELP ME". He named me Ian and when my dad and mom adopted me, they gave me their family name, McPhee. So, I am Ian McPhee and have two sisters."
When we reached Galaxy, I looked at him. "It was a fantastic idea. To walk and talk."
Ian sighed and he came close to me. He slipped his hand on the back of my head and kissed my forehead. "I'll see you soon, Renna."
Ian turned around and left me frozen. I didn't know why I felt good when he touched me and now, I want more from him. After Logan, I never allowed any guy to come close to me. With Ian, things are different.
I shook my head and walked inside the galaxy. I asked Bob if he knew of any place for a private party, and then he told me about the basement of Galaxy. I asked. "What about the payment?"
Bob flicked his hand. "This place is owned by my friend so you can pay anytime."
I shook my head. "Payment won't be an issue but there is one teeny tiny thing I want."
Bob raised his brow. "Now what?"
I sighed. "If you happen to stumble with any of my party guests, I would appreciate it if you please refrain from telling them about me working here."
Bob acted as zip his lips and threw the key away. I giggled. "Thanks."
I started serving and the club was overcrowded. I didn't know there was only one hour left for my shift, but I was feeling exhausted, so I took a 10-minute break and walked out of the club. There was no call or message from Ian, I felt a bit disappointed but immediately I shook my head, put back my phone, and exhaled some fresh air.
After finishing my shift, I was about to book a cab Ian's name started to flash on my screen. I smiled and picked up his call. Before I said anything, he asked me to turn left. When I turned, he waved at me, and I walked up to him. "What are you doing here?"
Ian handed me a helmet. "I want to take advantage of your free time to the fullest."
I adjusted the helmet and sat behind him. "You don't have to give me pick and drop just to talk to me."
Ian didn't answer; instead, he kept my arms around his waist and started his bike. I leaned forward and squeezed my arms around him. I wanted his scent all over me. When we reached my hotel, I gave him back the helmet.
Ian was about to say something, but a strong gust of wind swirled around and swept my hair across my face. Ian tucked my hair behind my ear, but something got into my eyes. He immediately climbed off his bike, opened my eyes with his fingers and blew into my eye. Ian asked me to blink a few times. I did it and now I was able to open my eyes. Ian was still holding my face and looking at me the way I couldn't push him back.
I stopped feeling like this years ago. I felt butterflies in my stomach and my eyes stuck to his lips. I was afraid that he pulled back and I will lose the chance to kiss him. I was feeling the fire in my veins. Without giving it a second thought, I crashed my lips to his.
Ian slipped his hand under my chin and parted my lips. I moaned in his mouth and his other hand moved down to my waist. My hands wrapped around his ribs, as I didn't want him to go away. Ian kept nibbling my lower lip and sending shivers down my spine.
The world started to fade away and now I was completely lost in his embrace. My body started to shake, and Ian broke our kiss. "I think we should call it a night before we get carried away and do something neither of us is ready for."
