Chapter 7
Taylor's POV
I wake when it's dark and I don't want to move, I am afraid if I move I'll wake her. Her head is still on my chest making my back ache slightly, but she's so peaceful. She needed the rest, I wonder what time it is. I try to reach for my phone on the small table next to my bed. As I shift under her she moans and rolls off. I watch her waiting for her to wake but she doesn't. I wonder what time she ended up in this room last night, she looks like she could sleep all night at this point.
I check the time and note that it's around eight. I slip out of the bed I really need to take a piss. When I come back into the room she's still sleeping, so I decide to head downstairs for a bit. I wonder how long we have this room until I should probably find out. I quietly shut the door and head for the elevator. Maybe while I am down there if we still have the room I can order some service.
I stop at the front desk waiting behind a happy couple excited to check in. She's got her arm linked in his and she's got a huge smile on her face. I think back to my now x at how this should have been us this weekend, but she decided to betray me. I really thought we had something, although part of me knows it's been over for a long time.
The man behind the desk calls me over and I walk towards him. I know she was hesitant about finding out any information about the room, but I just need to know. We also need to know how much longer we have here.
"Can I help you sir," the guys says.
He's a young guy probably around my age, I smile and nod my head.
"Can you tell me when check out is on my room, I can't seem to remember," I say.
I tell him the room number. I am tempted to ask him which one of us the room is registered to, but I think I'll leave that part out. He types something into the computer and then looks up at me.
"In the morning sir," he tells me.
"Tomorrow?" I ask.
He nods.
"Thank you. Can you tell... you know what never mind," I tell him with a smile and put the room key back in my pocket.
I decide to head back up and order some dinner. I am getting hungry, but I don't want to worry Meri. If she sees I am gone she might think that I've left. When I do leave I want to say goodbye to her, I can't see leaving without saying goodbye first. I head upstairs and when I get back to the room it's still dark. Her voice softly whispers my name. I head over to the bed and sit down next to her.
"Hey," I say.
"Taylor?" she questions with a sleepy voice.
"Yeah, I'm right here," he says.
"Where'd you go?" she asks rolling over to face me.
I can't help but think she looks damn sexy half asleep. Her brown hair all wild and crazy, and her eyes look innocent, which I have to admit I like, a lot. I've known her for less than twenty four hours and I can't help but want to get to know her more.
"I went downstairs. I didn't ask about names, but I found out that this room is reserved until the morning," I tell her.
"Wow Charlotte must have thought all of her bridal party would have two day hang overs," she laughs.
"Since we have time can I take you out to dinner?" I ask her.
Her eyes widen and a small smile spreads on her lips. I want her to say yes, my heart stops while I wait for an answer. She nods slowly and she shoves my arm lightly.
"Of course I'll go to dinner with you," she tells me. "You looked terrified, did you think I'd say no?" she laughs.
"No," I say defending myself.
My eyes wander to her lips and I can't help myself. I wonder if I kissed them if it would jar some kind of memory from last night. I bring myself closer and her eyes are on my lips too. Our eyes meet and everything around us is silent. I am about to make a move I can feel her breath lingering on my lips. Her eyes are closed and I am so close to kissing her.
"We should go eat," she says, her voice shaking.
I nod, agreeing with her. I feel like such a jackass.
