Chapter 13

                                                                                       Taylor's POV

I don't know why I ended up going back there what a fucking mistake. I knew she'd just rip my heart out for the second time in one weekend. I stand outside of her apartment debating on what to do. I have some time to kill before I have to get to the airport. I wonder if Meri is still at the hotel. It's almost noon already. I rest my hand against my pocket and feel something hard. I push my hand in my pocket and pull out the room key. I think it's a sign. I should go talk to her, and tell her the truth. Tell her that I do remember part of the night I was just being selfish and wanted to spend the day with her.

I pull my bag behind me and walk swiftly back towards the hotel. I knew she was at the wedding, I just didn't know her whole story. She might have told me at the bar that night, but I really was gone by then. The whole coming here for my girlfriend was partly true, I was hoping she'd be my date for the wedding. My cousins wedding. My brother was here because of the wedding and ran into her and that's how it all happened. She told me everything when I got to the apartment. My brother ended up leaving her a little while after everything went down. He said something to her about family first and walked out.

I remember ignoring my brother at the wedding and my whole family actually. When Derek suggested that I take care of his friend well ex, I gladly said yes so that I could distract myself and not fight with my brother at the wedding. It's still fuzzy how we ended up in the room together, but I need to tell her the rest of it.

I get to the hotel and start heading for the room. I swipe the card and when I go inside the room is tidied up and she's gone. The bed is made like we never lay in it. I close my eyes for a moment to collect my thoughts. I need to find her.

I make my way downstairs to give the key back to the front desk. The guy doesn't seem to question why I have the key.

"The room was in Meredith's name wasn't it?" I question him.

"Yes. I thought you two were together..."

"No. Just trying to figure out how I got her other room key," I tell him.

"Well, if that's it we hope you enjoyed your stay," he says.

"Thanks," I say.

I walk out into the city and hail a cab for the airport. She left already I guess she figured I wasn't coming back. I thought I wasn't, but my heart wanted to so bad. I don't even know why I left her.

"JFK please," I tell the driver.

He starts driving away from the curb and I watch the hotel get smaller as we drive away. I lean back and close my eyes. Her smile, her brown eyes and then way she'd play with her bangs when she was nervous pops into my head. I open my eyes to shake her image, and then close them again. I remember the way her face looked when I was about to kiss her. I think about her lips and how the whole time I was with her I wanted to just stare at them.

"Can you take me to Penn?" I question, my eyes flying open.
