[One-Shot] Please Say It One More Time [General Fiction]

[A/N: The following one-shots will be from my entries for the Creative Arts Programme, also known as a programme that includes lots of workshops and stuff from legitimate authors. They're extremely rushed, but seeing as I managed to get in, they should be halfway decent.

"Hey, I wonder, will you always love me?"

"What are you talking about? Of course I will."

"...that's a relief to hear... I really hope it stays true..."

"You're my most precious treasure. Of course I'll always love you."

No longer will I be loved

by you again

With the same love that you

Felt for me once

Please

Just never

Let me

Go

Your voice was oh so warm

Your fingers gently folding

Into mine

It was so blissful,

I just wanted it to last

Forever

"Please never let me go," I'd cry,

You said you'd keep on going

With me right by your side

You promised you would

But you broke that promise

This love won't exist

Anymore

• • •

"What do you mean you broke it? That was my mother's most-loved vase!"

"I'm—I'm sorry..."

"I would have been fine if it was any other vase. But it was the vase my mother gave me before she died. How are you going to replace that?"

"I... I really didn't know... I didn't mean to break it. I just slipped and—"

"Never mind. You know, I'd like to be alone for a while."

I can't remember now

Was your voice warm?

You speak, but everything stays silent

The warmth is slipping, quietly

From my mind

I used to love your voice, but

The memory of it is

Slowly slipping

Away

I told you once, didn't I?

When you said "I love you"

It was music to my ears, but

What am I supposed to do

Without this music

That I live on?

Will you still love me?

If I tell you that

I can't hear

Your soft voice calling

Anymore

The world's now a blank canvas

No longer hearing this voice of yours

If I'd ask—

What good is there in a world like this?

It's too late for me

But I'd always wanted to

Tell you—

"Please say it one more time..."

"I'm late; wonder how much she hates me now. Doctor, how's the patient?"

"She is safe from any danger from the car accident, but she does retain several injuries. I'm also sorry to tell you, but she's lost her hearing."

"She's— she's lost... it can't be..."

"I'm very sorry."

I was too late.

"Can I see her?"

"Let me check with her."

"..."

"I'm sorry. The patient doesn't want to see you.

"...I see. I'll try another day."

"Please say it one more time..."
