Terrified (2017)

"Aterrados" is a Spanish-language Argentine horror film which was released in 2018. "Aterrados" means "Terrified".

Some scenes are really scary like the body slamming scene against the bathroom wall, the corpse of the boy sitting at the kitchen table, the naked figure lying under the bed… etc

This film has the quote and qoute horror vibe. If you're a horror flick fan like me, you can take it as a dare if you want but I am definitely gonna suggest watching  this movie at night with your lights off.

The visit (2015)

Spoiler alert, this movie is back to back filled with speechless (not in a good way) dialogues. “We’re old, we should be sick” is being overly explained through the movie. The moment the pop pop came out of the shed like being completely hypnotised just gave it all away.

A fun and simple trip to see grandma and grandpa and mend a broken relationship doesn't seem to hurt. But when things begin to take an unexpected turn, Becca and Tyler must make a decision on whether or not they should give their grandparents a second chance or sever them forever.

HOST (2020)

 A reviewer said:

"i just finished watching this movie and gosh, I can't actually believe they did all that online during the pandemic. the plot is simple and the movie is short so there's no time for extra stuff (which i like) but the jump scares hit differently than anything. out of all the horror movies I've watched, this one has one of the scariest jump scares, i had my volume lower than twenty cause it was that intense. the acting was really good, they displayed their character's roles really well. overall, 9.5/10, i was expecting things to go a little, just a little slower but except that i really recommend it to those who are looking for a good night, binge watching some movies."

The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014)

"At first I thought oh heres another documentary but I was sceptical so I continued to watch and I'm glad I did it takes alot to scare me and let me tell you I was at the edge of my seat as soon as Deborah started acting odd. I jumped and was startled several times throughout this movie. I never take the time to write anyone a review but this one deserves 5 stars. All the actors played the parts great. Good job directorJob well done guys keeping the horror movies alive!"

The wailing (2016)

Small internet information!

When an outsider visits a village, its inhabitants experience a mysterious epidemic. A police officer then tries to solve the mystery behind the outbreak to save his sick daughter.

Call (2020)

The Call is a Korean Fantasy Mystery Thriller released in 2020 in Netflix. Korean films hold a strong presence in Asian Cinema and their style of film making is now taking new heights and competing with the World Cinema. This film is based on Time Travel but Director and Writer Chung-hyun Lee treated it differently to make a well crafted Mystery Thriller. Though the plot is quite complex, the screenplay and writing is crystal clear. Director beautifully transform the past and present incidents with his impeccable writing. The film opens with a breathtaking wide angle shot on a river side where the Protogonist Seo Yeon was introduced. She moves in to a new house and soon she gets a call from an anonymous person by name Young-sook but surprisingly she is twenty years behind from the present time and she lived in the same house. The film unfolds how these two characters influence each other in the past and present incidents.

Hell House LLC (2015)

A reviewer said:

"I don't care what anyone says, this movie is on the top ter found footage genre. Every time I watch this movie, it always leaves me with a stomach drop uncomfort for a 20 minutes after. I have watched many found footage movies, they might make me jump 1-2 times but mostly make me laugh. Even with a low budget they were able to really captivate the audience. It bleeds into the fear of a haunted house attraction turning real. The only negative thing I have to say is that the ending of the movie was kinda cringe. Like I get where they were trying to leave off with the documentary type setting but the ending felt like a easy op out."

The Babadook (2014)

2014's psychological horror film "The Babadook" was one of the best films of the decade by far, as Australian filmmaker Jennifer Kent wrote and directed a ghost story addressing the issues of grief and mental health in a brilliant way. The story focuses on Amelia, a single mom who is still dealing with the loss of her husband in a car crash 7 years ago and is now raising her son Samuel who has a love for magic, but also a belief in monsters. One night while reading him a bedtime story, she ends up with the book titled "Mister Babadook" and this begins a haunting series of events as Amelia's home is attacked by this entity with her doing everything possible to make it go away. It's films like this and "The Nightingale" as to why Kent needs to be making more films because she's a remarkable talent.

Hereditary (2018)

It is unclear what Hereditary is about. The genre-fit it claims is drama, horror, and mystery. However, one could also imagine it as a failed black comedy, because the audience who watched with me laughed loudly at either all the wrong times or all the right times. It is a fine line to entertain with intent or by happenstance, because the outcomes are the same. The problem with Hereditary is that it does not move any needle in any perceivable direction, and it is hardly dramatic, horrifying, or mysterious. The build-up to this film -- the trailers, publicity, advance reviews -- had all led me to believe I was going to the cinema to see the best horror film of 2018, something potentially in the same league as Friedkin's "The Exorcist", or Kubrick's "The Shining". But "Hereditary" doesn't deliver the goods. Toni Collette and Gabriel Byrne deliver credible performances, but sadly they are let down by the weakness of the storytelling, which never rises above the trite and obvious. In fact, this film is such a maladroit mash-up of established horror tropes, I could be convinced the plot was generated algorithmically. I experienced a couple of mild jump-scares, and was grossed-out a few times; but overall, this film not only failed to inspire a sense of horror in me, it also failed to attain the suspension of disbelief that is prerequisite to genuine horror. Some scenes and effects are so poorly executed, they are actually laugh-out-loud funny rather than scary.

The Black phone (2021)

"The Black Phone" is a captivating and chilling supernatural horror film that takes viewers on a thrilling ride through its eerie storyline. Directed by Scott Derrickson and based on Joe Hill's short story, this movie had us hooked from the beginning.

"The Black Phone" offered a unique and suspenseful tale that kept us engaged throughout. The film's setting in Denver, Colorado, was a refreshing change of pace, and it was exciting to see a story unfold in a location less commonly explored in cinema.

The film excelled in building a sense of dread and tension right from the start. It expertly blended supernatural elements with real-world horrors, creating an unsettling atmosphere that kept us on the edge of our seats. The cinematography and music added to the overall ambiance, making the viewing experience truly immersive.

Smile (2022)

As reviewer said:

Top horror. It contains all the right ingredients. It’s tense, sparingly gory, has the jumps, humour, looks great, good acting and enjoyable plot. For those saying it’s exactly the same as it follows is a bit like saying all rock music sounds the same or it follows is the same as cronenberg’s Rabid when in actual fact they are individual films in their own right all be it with a similar premise. Furthermore whilst I thought it follows was a good film I would argue that I enjoyed this much more as it had a nice balance of indy with the production value and cinematography and likeability of Hollywood with a splash of Sam Raimi for good measure, no doubt one of many the inspirations that were used for this film. All in all best horror I’ve seen in a good while. Nb. One scene proper made my stomach churn which is impressive as I consider myself a proper seasoned sicko horror fan. Highly recommend.
