STREET-OVER A YEAR LATER

Nina is walking down the street when a black SUV pulls up beside her, the window rolls down showing Nick Fury inside

Nick: Nina, get in

Nina: Why would I do that?

Nick: Because I asked nicely, that's why. Now get in.

Nina rolls her eyes and opens the door, climbing up inside the SUV

Nina begins driving down the street.

Nina: You wanna tell me why you picked me up? I've been a good girl for the past year. Haven't broken any laws

Nick: Well good. Keep it up. Project Insight.

Nina: I don't know what that is

Nick: Three next generation Helicarriers synced to a network of targeting satellites.

Nina: Launched from the Lemurian Star.

Nick: Once we get them in the air they never need to come down. Continuous suborbital flight courtesy of our new repulsor engines.

Nina: Tony?

Nick: Well, he had a few suggestions once he got an up close look at our old turbines. These new long range precision guns can eliminate a thousand hostiles a minute. The satellites can read a terrorist's DNA before he steps outside his spider hole. We gonna neutralize a lot of threats before they even happen.

Nina: I thought the punishment usually came after the crime.

Nick: We can't afford to wait that long.

Nina: Who's "we"?

Nick: After New York, I convinced the World Security Council we needed a quantum surge in threat analysis. For once we're way ahead of the curve.

Nina: By holding a gun at everyone on Earth and calling it protection.

Nick drives past a green light

Nina: Is that why you wanted to talk to me? For my blessing in whatever the hell you're doing?

Nina: I don't need your blessing, Taylor. Something is going on way over my head. I need people by my side who I can trust

Nina: And you trust me?

Nick: Trust you as much as I trust a snake to bite me. You've got skill and heart. I need that in my corner more then your trust. I think Project Insight is compromised.

Nina: By who?

Nick: I don't know that yet. I tried to open up the secure Project Insight launch files in my office. only I have authority to view them and I've been locked out.

Nina: Who locked you out?

Nick: Me apparently.

Nina: Do you have an evil twin lurking around anywhere?

Nick: Do you have an Uncle who's the Devil himself?

Nina: Touche on that one.

Nick stops at a red traffic light, he looks over to the next car and sees the two police officers in the car look at him with suspicion

Nina: Hiya, what's shaking? Wanna see my boobs?

Nick sends her a look, raising an eyebrow.

Nina: It's worked before. Once.

Nick: That's cause you're a white girl. Now shut up. Open secure line zero-four-zero-five.

Fury's Car: Confirmed.

Maria:: This is Hill.

Nick: I need you here in D.C. Deep shadow conditions.

Maria: Give me four hours.

Nick: You have three.

Nina looks around seeing two cops rolling up beside the SUV. She keeps her eyes trained ahead.

Nina: Please tell me you're seeing this?

Nick: Does it look like I'm blind?

Nina: You have one eye

Nick: One more word and you're walking

They're suddenly  by the police and SWAT team, Nina quickly realizes they are all disguised mercenaries

Nina: FURY, THEY'RE NOT COPS!!

Nick: NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!!

The mercenaries suddenly start shooting at Fury's car]

Fury's Car: Propulsion systems offline.

Nick: Then reboot, dammit!

The armor on Fury's vehicle starts to become weaker, the mercenaries bring out a battering ram to break in]

Fury's Car: Warning! Window integrity compromised.

Nina: YOU THINK!!! HOW LONG TO PROPULSION?

Nick: NO SIDE SEAT DRIVING!!

Fury's Car: Calculating.

The mercenaries start to use the battering ram on Fury's car window

Suddenly a minigun pulls up from inside the car and Nina leaps out the window, she rolls down on the road, leaps up to her feet and jolts her wings out

She raises her arm up and shoots a blue energy beam on the mercenaries causing the SWAT truck and some of the police cars to explode

Nick heads into the traffic, he smashes into some cars causing a pile up which stops the police cars, the mercenaries get out and start shooting at Fury's car

Nina creates two handguns out of thin air and raises them up shooting and takes out two of the mercenaries.

Nick: Hold your fire, Taylor!

She sees a mysterious figure emerge ahead in the middle of the road.]

[It suddenly shoots a bomb that attaches itself to Fury's vehicle causing it to explode and flip over.

Trapped inside his car, Fury watches as the figure walks over to the car but he manages to escape just in time by using a laser weapon to burn a hole out.

Nina superspeeds up to him

Nina: You okay?

Nick: The better question is where am I not

Nina: I'll buy you time.

Nick: Nina wait! Go to 97th Street. There's an apartment block---apartment 28.

Nina moves around the SUV and stalks closer towards the mysterious figure. Her eyes glows bright gold as she jolts her arm outward, her angelic sword shooting out.

Winter Soldier: Move

Nina: Make me

Winter Soldier: You are not my target. Move

Nina: Like I said........Make me.

The soldier steps forward and Nina curls her fingers around the hilt of her sword and sends a wave of energy barreling towards him hitting him right in the chest sending him flying backwards, he hits the side of a car hard.

He leaps up and charges towards, she ducks under the knife and slams her fist into his side. She lands another hit to his stomach then leaps up in the air, roundhouse kicking him in the side of the head.

She kicks his legs out from under him sending him down to one knee.

She raises her sword to block the knife. She brings down her fist hard on his shoulder, breaking his arm.

She lands a hard uppercut to his chin sending him flying back in the air, landing down hard on the ground.

She jolts her wings out and leaps up into the air, flapping her wings and flies away.

Nina flies through a window shattering the glass landing down in a hero landing, she jolts her wings inside her back

She jolts her wings back inside her back and walks down the hallway. She approaches a door and sees it's already cracked slightly open

She makes her way inside slowly. She looks and sees Captain America's Shield in the corner.

Nina: This is......Steve's place?

She walks into the living room finding Nick laying in a lazy boy chair. He holds up his finger in front of his mouth.

He types on his phone: Did he get away?

Nina moves closer and nods her head. Steve enters, shield in hand and leans against the doorframe.

Steve: I don't remember giving you a key

Nick: You really think either of us would need one? My wife kicked me out

Nina: Didn't know you were married.

Nick: A lot of things you don't about me.

Steve: I know, Nick. That's the problem.

As Steve turns on the light, he notices Fury's injuries for the first time, but Nick indicates for him to be silent, he turns off the light and writes something on his phone and shows it to Steve and Nina; "ears everywhere"

Nick: I'm sorry to have to do this, but I had no place else to crash.

He writes another text and shows it to Steve; "SHIELD compromised"]

Nina: Who else knows about your wife?

Nick shows another text; "You and me"]

Nick: Just...my friends.

Steve: Is that what we are?

Nick: That's up to you.

Suddenly Nick  is shot three times from through the wall and collapses, Nina looks out the window for the shooter as Steve quickly drags Fury to the next room. He hands Steve a flash drive

Nick: Don't.......trust anyone.

He passes out. The front door is slammed open

Captain Rogers!

Nina watches a woman holding up her gun

Nina goes to jolt her sword out but Steve grabs her arm

Steve: No, that's Kate. She's my neighbor.

Sharon: Captain, I'm Agent 13 of SHIELD Special Service. I'm assigned to protect you.

Steve Rogers: On whose order?

Sharon notices Nick laying on the floor

Sharon: His.

She goes to Fury then contacts SHIELD through her radio

Sharon: Foxtrot is down, he's unresponsive. I need EMTs.

SHIELD Agent: Do you have a twenty on the shooter?

Nina flashes her golden eyes and notices the shooter through the window

Steve: Tell them I'm in pursuit.

He  smashes through his window and runs after the assassin, who is the same mysterious man that had exploded Nick car

Steve chases him through an office building smashing through the walls, when he finally catches up with him on the roof he throws his shield at the assassin, but he catches it with one swift move, then throws it back to Steve and then jumps down the building and disappears.

HOSPITAL 

Natasha marches down the hallway, storming her way towards Nina who turns around and shallows a gulp

Nina: B-baby, I can......

Natasha grabs her by the shirt pulling her closer and smashes their lips together. Nina flutters her eyes closed and cups her face in her hands, kissing her back.

Natasha pulls away and backs away glaring at her

Natasha: Never ever do that again, Detka. I mean it

Steve walks up from behind Nina

Natasha: Is he going to be okay?

Steve: We don't know.

Natasha: Tell me about the shooter.

Steve: He's fast and strong. Had a metal arm.

Maria walks up and joins them

Natasha: Ballistics?

Maria: Three slugs, no rifling. Completely untraceable.

Natasha: Soviet-made.

Maria Hill: Yeah.

They watch in shock as Nick's state deteriorates]

Defibrillator!

Natasha:: Don't do this to me, Nick.

Nina reaches down and grabs onto her hand, Natasha squeezes her hand tightly

Time of death: 1:03 pm.

Natasha's eyes wells up with tears as Nina cups her chin making her look at her. Nina wraps her arms around her waist and buries her head in her chest

Natasha buries her face in her neck and sobs.

Natasha, Nina, and Steve are in a room where Fury's dead body has been laid out, Natasha is looking at Fury's body with tears running down her face, Hill joins them]

Maria: I need to take him.

Nina: Nat.

Natasha doesn't respond, instead she tenderly touches Fury's head then turns and walks out, Steve follows her

Nina: Nat!

Natasha: Why was Fury in your apartment?

Steve: I don't know.

They are interrupted by Rumlow

Brock: Cap, Taylor, they want you back at SHIELD.

Nina: Give me a second. I'll catch up

Steve nods his head and walks away, leaving.

Natasha: You're a horrible liar

Nina: I am not.

Natasha: Nina.....

Nina: Natasha.

She wraps her arms around her neck while Natasha places her hands on her hips, she leans down and kisses her.

Nina: I'm still here and I'm not going anywhere. Until the end of the road. I love you

Natasha: I love you too, Detka.

SHEILD

Nina walks down the hallway and stops at the elevator

Nina: Operation Control

The elevator doors are about to close, Rumlow steps in with two STRIKE agents]

Brock: Keep all STRIKE personnel on site.

STRIKE Agent #1: Understood.

STRIKE Agent #2: Yes, sir.

Brock: Forensics.

SHIELD Computer: Confirmed.

Brock: Taylor

Nina: Rumlow.

The elevator doors close and they start riding down]

Brock: Evidence Response found some fibres on the roof they want us to see. You want me to get the tac-team ready?

Nina: No, lets wait and see what it is first.

Brock: Right.

Nina notices one of the agents touching his weapon suspiciously. The elevator stops and more SHIELD and STRIKE agents enter]

Brock: I'm sorry about what happened with Fury. Messed up, what happened to him.

Nina: Thanks

She looks around at the agents in the elevator. Noticing one is sweating and shallows a nervous gulp.

The elevator stops and more agents enter]

STRIKE Agent #3: Records.

SHIELD Computer: Confirmed.

The elevator doors close, Nina realizes he's been surrounded by agents]

Nina: Okay, before we start, anyone wanna get off or change their diaper?

Suddenly one of the agents turns and uses an electric rod to give her a shock while the others grabs her and tries to strap her wrists with magnetic cuffs.

She stands up straight knocking them down with a blue energy blast.

Brock uses his rod to give her a shock

Brock: Sorry, Kid. It's nothing personal.

She raises her hands and rips the cuffs off her wrists, her eyes glowing bright gold and a smirk forms across her face.

Brock: Ah shit.

He goes to attack her with the rod but she manages to grab his arm and backhands him across the head knocking him out

The elevator doors opens up and she turns seeing a team of STRIKE agents pointing their weapons at him]

Put your hands in the air!

Nina uses her sword to break the wires that sends the elevator down. She forces the doors open and sees more STRIKE agents approaching her, she closes the door and looks for a way out.

Give it up, Taylor! We got you surrounded!

She leaps through the glass and falls down towards the ground, her wings jolts out of her back and she flaps her wings flying through the air. Jasper watches in shock as Nina flies up in the air.

Jasper: Are you shitting me? Lock down the bridge!

Nina flies out towards the bridge when a Quinjet appears ahead of her

Stand down, Taylor! Stand down

The Quinjet lowers its machine gun

Repeat, stand down.

Nina throws her sword into the propellers to jam it, giving her the chance to fly over it and the sword flies into the engine before she whooshes away.

HOSPITAL

Nina and Steve approaches a vending machine to grab the flash drive but it's gone.

Natasha appears behind them chewing some gum, in anger Steve pushes her into a room]

Steve: Where is it?

Natasha: Safe.

Nina: Nat, do better

Natasha: Where did you get it?

Steve: Why would we tell you?

Natasha: Fury gave it to you. Why?

Nina: What's on it?

Natasha: I don't know, Detka

Steve: Stop lying!

Natasha: I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Steve: I bet you knew Fury hired the pirates, didn't you?

Natasha: Well, it makes sense. The ship was dirty, Fury needed a way in, so do you.

Steve: I'm not gonna ask you again.

Natasha: I know who killed Fury. Most of the intelligence community doesn't believe he exists, the ones who do call him the Winter Soldier. He's credited with over two dozen assassinations in the last fifty years.

Nina: So he's a ghost story.

Natasha: Five years ago I was escorting a nuclear engineer out of Iran, somebody shot out my tires near Odessa. We lost control, went straight over a cliff, I pulled us out, but the Winter Soldier was there. I was covering my engineer, so he shot him straight through me.

She pulls up her shirt to show him the scar on the side of her stomach

Natasha: Soviet slug, no rifling. Bye-bye bikinis.

Nina: Oh don't be sad. I bet you still look great in them, babe.

Natasha sends her a loving smile

Nina: Okay, so we gonna hunt this guy down like Sam and Dean Winchester?

Steve: Do not spoil anything for me or we're no longer friends, Nina.

Nina: Which season you on?

Steve: Three.

Natasha: Going after him is a dead end. I know. I've tried

Nina yanks the USB out of her hand and tucks in between her breasts

Nina: Ghosts don't shoot bullets

Natasha: I don't mind diving in there and taking it back, you know?
