Deku (German Past, Present, and Future)

Holy cow, I drew this so long ago now~!!

All right, so for this, I actually submitted to my German teacher a book that was clearly put together under a time crunch and poor abilities (drawing and technological). I submitted pages that were not drawn but rather printed simply because I ran out of time; these pages were the cover and the last three pages at least.... I might've actually done the cover last, just because it had a lot to draw.... So, without further ado, here's the cover~~!

This, like most of the drawings you'll see in here, was drawn from a picture. As you can see... I did not shade all of it (coughs) typical me (cough)

I actually kept the original cover because I liked how the printing had made whatever color "DEKU" was in a blue that transitioned into pink x'DDD But I like my version of it, too. It's probably hard to see, but in the D, we have a Noumu next to a little All Might doll, with Kurogiri under it. Under Kurogiri is some ice (Todoroki's), and to the left, we have... I think that's something I erased poorly. Then going back up, we have Iida's engines, Shigaraki's father's hand, and that's supposed to be Uraraka's hands, clapping to release her Quirk.

In the E, we have... what the f--ohh, that's a poorly-drawn Quarter Might.... Got it. Then we have Uraraka's hands again, Iida's engine drawn better, and Todoroki's Quirk (both ice and fire). It's been such a long time, so I don't remember much, but... I think I was planning to have the villains in the D and Deku's supporters in the E and had too much space leftover in the D, or maybe I was just wanted to redraw some of the stuff from the D; idfk--

Then we have the K, which, as you can see, is Kacchan's explosions :3 Then finally, the U represents One For All. We have... Deku's broken hand flicking a finger, the little...- lightning-looking things that appear when he's in Full Cowl, a fist punching, Deku's iconic shoes, and a poorly drawn All Might... thing. Idfk what they're called-- The part of All Might's hair that Deku styled his bunny ears after. Yeah. That.

I believe... I actually looked at references for all of those except Uraraka's hands and maybe Kurogiri and obviously, Kacchan's explosions.

Whew! That's a lot!

Now we have the first page of the children's(?) book~

This... I do believe is what I drew first, actually. On the left, we have Deku's foot X-ray, and on the right, we have the iconic scene where Deku's being like 'can I be a hero too...?' This, I actually decided not to shade much, never mind coloring, not because of laziness but because of the aesthetic. Y'know, it's when all of his dreams came crashing down around him, and it's before the shining moment when he meets All Might~~

The German, translated to the best of my ability, means the following: "When I was in elementary school, I learned that I had no Quirk. My dreams were killed, but I want to be a hero, and I will do it. No one thought that I will do it. Without a Quirk, I could not do it, they think."

Second page~ I think it was the second I drew, too. Here, I foolishly tried to draw All Might without shading before realizing that he IS shading. ... Yeah, that's all I have to say about this one.

The German here means "When I was in my last year of middle school (which... actually should've been second year of middle school; ignore my idiocy--), All Might gave me his Quirk. I worked for it, and he said "Eat this," and he gave me a strand of his hair. It tasted terrible."

As you can see in this third page here, I started drawing the building before I was like 'yeah, no- that's too much work, and I don't have the time.' (HAH! Oh, my poor, ignorant self... ;w; You know nothing about what having no free time is truly like....) I... don't know where this is in the timeline, just that it was around the time I submitted it - so, somewhere between being the third page I drew and being the second after submitting. ... Idk. Maybe I just finished the coloring after submitting...? Idfk--

But yeah, a rare example of me actually coloring-- It sucks :3 His hair and skin were especially hard to get the right tone with the colored pencils I had. Like, geez, he looks frigging sickly--

The German: "Then I went to U.A. because I saved Uraraka-san. I had no points, so I thought that I had failed. When I heard that, I was so happy. I'm going to my dream school!"

This... all I remember is doing this in Social Skills class-- I wanna attach a 4 to it..., but that might just be because it's the fourth page-- But I definitely finished drawing it before submitting the book, at least. For this one, the only thing I added was Shigaraki's hand on Deku's head (hence why it's drawn so poorly) and... something else, but I'm not sure if that's the flush on Iida's cheeks or the background atmosphere.... I'm thinking it's the background atmosphere because I'm not the biggest IiDeku fan.

Now the German translation: "Now I have many friends. Class 1-A is nice! Iida-kun and Uraraka-san are my best friends. They are very nice, and they are intelligent. Kacchan and Uraraka-san call me "Deku." Iida-kun calls me "Midoriya{-kun; again, ignore my stupidity--}." Todoroki-kun and Tsu-chan call me "Midoriya-kun." (Shinsou-kun also calls me "Midoriya-kun," but my friends don't like him.... I have no idea why.)"

Fifth page~ I know the taiyaki scene was drawn pretty early on (around the protect-Deku scene and Deku's first Smash), but... I think the Full Cowl scene just might've been drawn after submitting the assignment-- This was... yes, this was me being lazy and panicking about the due date. That's why it has hardly any shading.

The translation~: "I have an internship with Gran Torino. I('m) learn(ing) lots!! I need my Quirk to be all over my body {(snickers) Okay, carrying on; ignore my poor German skills--} The egg doesn't blow up now because I now know that I am a Taiyaki!!"

This, I know I submitted the photo I was drawing from for this page. All of this was done after submission. Ehmm... I think I had less difficulty with the coloring on this one (although Deku's skin still looks f-ed up). ... Yeah.

"When I am older, I want to be a wonderful hero. I will be as great as All Might! I can do it now! I will do it because so many people wish me the best."

This one is where we stop drawing from references. I did draw All Might completely from a reference, just tweaking it a bit so that it's a suit instead of his hero costume, but otherwise, totally drawn from a picture. The bouquet, as well... I believe was drawn directly from a picture. I probably used some photos to get a general idea of Deku and Kacchan's hair and eyes, but other than that, I didn't use any reference material. I remember spending a bit of time looking through wedding designs though, to figure out what kind of dress and veil I wanted Deku in.

Oh, yeah, and I added the tear in All Might's eye-- I'm pretty sure I was wanting it to be like All Might was walking Deku up the aisle (like a father would), but since no one's behind Kacchan..., it's technically kind of up to interpretation. (Although the woman traditionally does walk up the aisle after the man, both of them are men, even though Deku's the one in the dress, so you could make an argument that All Might's the one officiating the wedding. Plus, he could honestly just walk in front of them both and be the father AND the officiator--)

So, the German: "I will also marry Kacchan. I cannot wait!! I love Kacchan so much!! But he doesn't know.... But I know that we will be together!"

You can also see the note I had on this one telling me which page it was.

Oh yeah, and for the page I originally submitted in place of this... (since I hadn't even started this drawing before I submitted my assignment), I doodled a Flying, Fighting Cat in the air and Todoroki and Shinsou looking at Kacchan holding Deku happily, both in black suits... like the jealous Deku lovers they are :3 :P

Last page~

This, I also drew without references (except for general ideas of the hair and eyes and maybe the hands and Quirks...). Looking back on it, the... eyes are too far apart; no wonder it always looked weird-- Plus, those hands, geez...

Anyway, though, I was pretty conflicted on this. Like, should I have blonde curls and green spikes? Should they have anything in common? I eventually decided on what I have, but if I could do it over, I think I'd like to try mixing it up with blonde curls, green spikes, green, slanted eyes, and gentle, red eyes.

Although One for All can't be transferred through, like... childbirth, I decided to give the Polite Porcupine (ignore my poor spelling in the self note) One for All just because I think Deku would hope that his child would have a Quirk. So like,, completely ignore the possibility that he could be Quirkless; it's fine, sweetie-- (holds Deku)

Now the German: "And we will have a very cute baby! I don't want our baby to have Kacchan's bad attitude. He could have Kacchan's red eyes, perhaps, or maybe he could have Kacchan's hair. It would be cool if he had a Quirk. He could have Kacchan's Quirk maybe. I cannot wait!!!"

Come to think of it..., Deku just assumed his child would be a boy-- pfft, my boy obsession at work, oops!

Actually, on second thought... I might've just submitted this page on time.... I remember looking for a good picture, but I couldn't find one at the time.... Haha, there are so many drawings of Deku and Kacchan's children now~~
