For Janet being the only human in Volturi castle was surprisingly normal. Every morning Felix or Jane would bring her breakfast from a bakery nearby and some milk. Then she'd go down to the throne room and show Aro any new pictures she had drawn, have lunch at one of the restaurants in town, and hang of with a few members of the guard the rest of the day.

Saturdays were her favorite, Felix would have night guard duty those days, and so after she got done talking to Aro, she would get to spend the whole day with Felix.

It was one of those days that Felix had brought up a simple yet complicated question, "Janet, do you like me?" Janet knew the answer to that but Felix continued to clarify. "I don't mean as just a friend, I mean more than a friend like a boyfriend or mate kind of like."

Did she? Janet had always had a fondness for Felix but was it that deep? Was it enough to call him her mate? Janet hadn't noticed but she had started to bite her lip in nervousness. She had always enjoyed his company more than anyone else's and she would do things just to get him mad, but they never worked.

"If you don't that's ok. I mean-" Janet cut him off by one simple sign. She held up only her thumb, pointer, and pinky fingers, 'I love you' is all it stood for. Felix couldn't believe his eyes, she loved him!

"Um- then will yo-you marry me? It's ok if you say no." Felix nervously got out, Janet nodded. He did not want to scare her but for some reason he couldn't shake the feeling that something awful was going to happen soon.

About a week later Aro made a final division on Janet's life. She would become part of the guard by the end of the week. "Jane, would you bring Janet to me, I have news for her."

Pain, unbearable screening pain that could tear you apart if it wanted. That was all Janet could feel as the venom raced to her frantic heart. She just wanted some relief anything if she could just stop the pain.

Just before the darkness fell a single seen fell into her vision. A woman that could be mistaken for an older Janet walked up to Heidi, one of Aro's newest recruits, an asking for a tour. "No!!!" Janet screamed at the top of her lungs as the word turned into a cry of pain.
