Why in God's name would the owner of a children's establishment put cover less vents on the floor? What happens if a child crawls into the vent and gets stuck/lost in it?

Did the owner of the pizzeria want the vents on the floor so the animatronics could get you? Or is he just a lazy, idiotic, kids establishment owner?
