六: Morning Madness
Morning sunlight shone warmly through the window, brightening the unlit room. Samantha's brown eyes opened, as the light gently lay on her face.
The Asian girl remained in her comfortable position on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. After a few minutes, she sat up and stretched, twisting her waist both ways.
The delicious smell of food that had wafted from the kitchen hit her nose, and her mouth watered.
Samantha threw off the blankets as she walked to the bathroom, which was opposite to her room. She brushed her teeth, washed her face, and combed her hair, doing her daily routine.
Seeing that Hong Kong had set 3 breakfast-filled plates onto the dining table, she decided to wake China up. Samantha went over to his room quietly and pushed open the door. The country was sleeping soundly on his side, facing the wall. She moved over to the bed and peered at his sleeping face. He's kinda cute when he's asleep... she thought, but it's a shame that I've come to disturb his peaceful slumber.
Taking a step back, she distanced herself between her and the bed. Then she jumped forwards, landing on Yào with her arms and legs outstretched in a starfish position.
"Aiya!" China exclaimed, his eyes fluttering open.
"Wake up, it's time for breakfast," Samantha murmured.
"You didn't have to wake me up like that, did you, aru?" he groaned.
"No, but it was fun," she replied.
China smiled sleepily, then tried to push her off of him. But she clung onto him tightly.
"Hey, you wanted me to wake up, aru. Why won't you let me go?" he questioned.
Samantha rolled her eyes and smiled slightly, getting off the nation.
"Why don't you go have breakfast first, aru? I'll come out in a few minutes," China said. He reached over to his desk and pulled out something from one of the drawers. It was a headband with fake cat ears on it. Yào slid it onto her head, then left the room to go brush his teeth.
The girl reached up to touch them and smiled. She skipped down the hallway to where Hong Kong was sitting alone at. He looked up at her as he saw her approach. He waved as she sat down in the seat beside him.
"Good morning," Loung greeted. His eyes darted up to the cat ears, and he slowly patted her head. "Where is China? I thought you went to wake him up."
"He said that he'll come out soon. He's in the bathroom," she replied.
"Mmm." Hong Kong nodded. "You seem in a good mood today," he commented, looking back at her.
Samantha smiled. "I guess I am."
A few moments later, China came out. He smiled and sat down at the table. Hong Kong had just finished his breakfast.
"Good morning aru!"
"Morning," they replied. Hong Kong left the table to put his dishes into the sink. Then he left to go to his room, which was next door.
China and Samantha chatted as they ate their food, but China had suddenly froze, cutting her sentence off.
"Hush, aru. Do you hear that?" he whispered.
"What?"
A faint humming of a tune could be heard, as they remained completely silent.
China put down his spoon down quietly, then got off his chair. He beckoned Samantha to follow him as he tiptoed towards Hong Kong's room.
The door was opened a crack, and they both peeked in. Samantha quickly whipped out her phone, and started videoing the scene inside. Both of them had to cover their mouths to avoid laughing out loud.
Loung had his earphones plugged into his phone, and was dancing to the music. But because he wasn't playing it out loud, he looked like he was aimlessly twirling around the room.
Suddenly, Samantha let out a giggle, and China slammed his hands over her mouth, although he was struggling not to laugh as well.
Yào let out a little snort, which resulted to the both of them bursting out laughing. Hong Kong froze in place and removed his earbuds. He set his phone onto his bed. He didn't turn around, for he was blushing with embarrassment and didn't want them to see.
"You did not see any of that," he muttered. "You saw nothing..."
Samantha stopped recording, then slipped her phone into her pocket. She pushed the door open and came into his room. China followed.
"Hey Loung, I didn't know you could dance, aru," China teased. Hong Kong huffed and crossed his arms, his face set in a pouty expression.
Samantha came up and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Aww, don't be sad. You looked fabulous," she joked lightheartedly, gazing up at the nation.
"Samantha. I know you recorded me. Delete it," he said.
The girl shook her head cheekily, then dashed out of the room. She poked her head back in a few seconds after.
"This is payback for all the times you've took pictures of me when I was asleep!"
Hong Kong ran out after her, chasing the girl around the house.
"No matter how many times I take pictures of you, it does not match the level of embarrassment of that video!" he yelled as they ran.
"Yes it does!"
"No it doesn't!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Ye--"
Samantha's retort was cut off when Loung tackled her onto the ground, pinning her down.
"Hand it over, or else," he threatened.
"Or else what?"
A sly smirk crossed his face.
"Oh no," she muttered under her breath. "Nope, still not handing it--WAHAHAHAHAHA~!!"
The girl writhed around on the floor and laughed uncontrollably as Loung gave her one of the worst consequences she could ever imagine: tickling.
"HAHAHA! Stop it! HAHA! Please!" she begged, as tears started forming at the corner of her eyes.
"Samantha! Pass the phone here, aru!" China called. The girl slid the device across the floor towards the country. Hong Kong released her, and Samantha felt instant relief. Yào had already bolted away down the hallways and locked himself into his room.
"Teacher, you know that I'm waiting for you out here even though you lock yourself in there for as long as you want, right?" There was no reply.
Hong Kong leaned against the door frame. After a few minutes, the door unlocked and out came a smug-looking China. Loung raised his eyebrows at the country.
Apparently, he had uploaded the video to all of the devices in the house.
