二十二: Shooting Stars
China and Samantha were sitting outside, watching the moon again. It was silent, neither of them talking. They stared up at the perfect circular shape of the moon.
Something pricked at the back of Samantha's mind, and she frowned, trying to remember what it was.
Suddenly, she was struck by a familiar tune. The stars twinkled brightly in the night sky, as if urging her to go on.
"Hey, China?" she asked, cutting off the silent atmosphere.
"Yes?"
Samantha paused, seeing a tiny streak of light appearing and disappearing in a blink of an eye. "Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?"
He turned to look at her. "Yes...why?"
"Cuz I could really use a wish right now."
"A wish?"
She nodded. "Yeah."
"Why? That's so random," China replied.
"Sorry. My cousin used to sing this to me. He probably doesn't remember, but I remember it like it was just yesterday," she paused, then continued, "I just found out the name of that song a few weeks ago."
"What was the name, aru?"
"Airplanes."
"Well that's kind of boring."
They could hear a faint sound of an airplane passing through the night sky. They looked up, spotting the blinking red light.
"You can make your wish now."
