Commentary: This fic holds a special place in my heart! It's so cute and just feels very warm and homey. I miss the original cover, though. It used to have a different cover on Wattpad and I wish I had a screenshot of it because I very legitimately mourned when it changed. Anyway, back on track, I particularly loved Pansy in this fic, and I always enjoy it when Harry or Draco have good friends as side characters. I also love animal companions.

It's a good thing Draco Malfoy isn't his friend.

Commentary: Like most of these fics, it has been years since I've read this. You can go play a game in the comments section and see how often you can spot me. A lot, I'm sure. I love the interhouse-unity-leads-to-party-games trope and I love the everyone-knows-something-except-the-main-character trope as well so this fic is really just my cup of tea, but I don't remember most of it. No more needs to be said, enjoy. ☕️

Title: The Ugly Truth

Draco soon finds himself questioning everything he thought he knew about love as he realizes that Harry is everything he ever wanted in life. How on earth was Draco going to get himself out of this without finding himself heart-broken?

Commentary: this is one of my favorite Muggle AUs on Wattpad. They're both teachers at a high school and so of course that means classroom shenanigans, and competitiveness, and just tons of fun. It's a light-hearted fic that hasn't received nearly enough attention. Go give it a read and report back, STAT.

Speaking of whom...well he barely exists in the wizarding world anymore — and he's certainly hardly recognisable as the person he once was. He's become a bit reckless as well, what with the residual self hate from the war and his general lack of friends.
One night they both go out clubbing and run into each other, and dancing turns to a bit more.

Commentary: Okay, yes, duh I'm gonna rec this. I am an unapologetic trumpeter of this fic. Actually, Jayse has quite a few great fics you should check out, but this one is severely underrated and so it has been elected as my favorite out of all of them. No offense, Friendly Competition and I'll Play Your Game, you both know you're amazing and I'm positive you'll be included in a rec list later on, but since this is a short and sweet fic that just takes me to my happy place, it gets top of the list treatment.
Warnings: Dubious consent because Harry is in disguise when they first have sex. But it's enthusiastic otherwise.

Commentary: Do I smell something burning? No, you're sure there's nothing smoking in here? Okay.
Mmm, this fic. It is spiced just perfectly, boiling tenderly over scorching-hot flames like some nice potatoes you let your friend grind up ghost peppers in. Why'd you let your friend do that? You don't like potatoes as they are? I guess I'll allow it since I enjoy the feeling of my tongue melting out of my mouth.
If you like fics where the characters fall in love without knowing it's each other they're falling in love with, this fic is for you. If you like fics where the characters exchange a lot of letters while covertly trying to figure out each other's identities, this fic is for you. If you like interhouse unity, this fic is for you. If you like following specific written instructions for masturba— well, I'll let you see for yourself. Join me in the chaos.
Warnings: again, disguised sex. So there's undeniably some dub-con there but, again, it's enthusiastic aside from that.

Commentary: You want me to rec ONE julietsemophase fic? Fine, but I'm gonna be a dick about it. There are SIXTY-NINE (yes, exactly sixty-nine) other Harry Potter fics you can read by this amazing author that feature Drarry, plus a few that do not. This fic had me laughing nearly constantly, and when you get right down to it that's why I chose it above all the others. There are some amazing fics Juliet has written, but this one just makes me happy to even think about. It puts a huge smile on my face.
Warnings: I think this counts as mildly scary. If theme park/animatronic-esque horror isn't your thing, maybe avoid it.

Title: 19 Years

Meanwhile, first-years Albus and Scorpius navigate friendship, classes, and getting their idiot fathers together. They are joined by their mothers, Astoria and Ginny, retiring professor Minerva McGonagall, newly-minted professor Teddy Lupin, Headmaster Neville Longbottom, Blaise Zabini, Lawyers Pansy Parkinson and Hermione Granger, a handful of scheming first-years, and the inimitable Luna Lovegood.

Commentary: short and sweet fic that's very well written and just what the doctor ordered. We should probably sue the doctor for malpractice, though, because this fic is nothing if not flirtation.
Warnings: Okay, again we've got dubious consent with Draco thinking Harry is someone else who only really looks like Harry. Draco is notably upset when he realizes who it is, at least at first. Consent is otherwise enthusiastic.

Commentary: Whew. Okay. This fic is perhaps my second favourite of all time. I say that tentatively because, unlike some other fics, it's not one I remember often, but when I do? Wow.
It starts with Harry realising that his boggart and the Mirror of Erised both show him himself. And this really jumpstarts the whole thing. How can your biggest fear and your deepest desire be yourself? Well, anyway, Harry decides he wants to be a Potions Master. And through doing so, he learns so much about himself and who he is turning out to be, bonds with Portrait Snape, and just falls hopelessly head over heels for Draco Malfoy. It's really beautiful. I promise the pages whizz by.
