Wrongly Accused: Part 1

Dedicated to @Fujoshi_Unicorn for the request.

Draco stared thoughtlessly at the grey wall of the prison cell. He had been here for approximately a month for a murder that he hadn't even committed. It was because of that stupid judge, Cornelius Fudge, who had something against his family and decided to make Draco's life absolutely miserable, by throwing him in prison and making everyone think he was a murderer. He was only supposed here for a while but since he was the only suspect they had, he got locked away. Who knows how long he would be in there for? He was pretty sure it was illegal but you can't really argue with the judge, can you?

The sound of footsteps made him perk up. He was getting a new guard today, hopefully better than the last, who had thrown slurs and rude remarks at him everyday. A large figure came into his view and he mentally cursed.

His new guard was hot.

He had messy black hair and the brightest green eyes Draco had ever seen. Underneath his uniform, he had some serious muscles. Draco didn't think he could live with his new guard, he would die just by looking at him.

"Hi," Draco greeted. The guard looked at him, surprised. "What's your name?"

"Uh, Harry?" The guy, Harry, replied nervously.

"You don't sound very sure about that," Draco said with a smirk. Harry blushed.

"It's just that everyone told me you were crazy," Harry explained. Draco narrowed his eyes.

"Who's everyone?" He asked, anger slowly bubbling up in his chest.

"The newspapers, your old guard and even my boss," Harry shrugged. "You don't look crazy to me."

Draco huffed and sat down on the cold floor. "That's because I'm not. I'm here for no reason."

Harry blinked. "But. . . you killed that guy, Albus Dumbledore."

"No I didn't," Draco growled. "Believe it or not, I actually liked that old bat. I'd only met him once but he was nice enough to forgive my father for the things he had done."

"Then how come you're in here?" Harry asked, stepping closer to the bars.

"Because my father was supposedly associated with the man who had previously tried to kill Dumbledore so they thought they should lock me up," Draco grumbled. "I'm also sure that Fudge has a personal vendetta against my father."

"But that's not fair!" Harry exclaimed. "You shouldn't be here!"

Draco decided that he liked his new guard, very much. "Well thank you Harry, but not everyone thinks that."

"Well, I'm going to get you out of here," Harry said determinedly.

"Thank you gorgeous," Draco purred, feeling a change of emotions and deciding to tease his new guard. "But that's enough about me, what about you?"

"O-oh, um, what do you want to know?" Harry stuttered, a blush spreading across his cheeks. It was clear that he wasn't used to being flirted with.

"What's your family like?" Draco asked, curious to know who had raised this charming, adorable man.

Immediately, Harry's face lost all colour and he started fiddling with his hands. "Can we not talk about it please?"

"Oh, okay," Draco said. The last thing he wanted was to make him uncomfortable. "Well, what about your friends?"

This new topic made Harry's face light up in delight. "I met my two best friends when I was eleven at a boarding school. I first met Ron and I thought he was the greatest person ever. Then we met Hermione, but at first, we thought she was a nerd so we didn't really talk to her. But she ended up getting us out of massive trouble and we eventually became best friends. It's a really good thing because she's extremely smart and no one would expect her of doing something wrong."

"Why, has she done something no one has expected her to do?" Draco asked, falling for Harry a tiny bit more as he talked about his friends, whom he clearly loved.

"Well, she did set a teacher's clothes on fire because we were convinced he was trying to kill me," he admitted, scratching the back of his head. Draco laughed loudly. He likes this girl, he thought.

"That teacher wouldn't happen to be Severus Snape, would he?" Draco asked. Harry's eyes widened.

"Yes! How did you know?" He asked.

"Well, he's my godfather and he did tell me that some stupid first year had set his clothes on fire," Draco replied.

"O-oh," Harry stuttered, blushing. "Sorry."

"Don't apologised. I laughed when he told me," Draco waved him off. "So what about your other friends?"

"Well there's Dean, Seamus and Neville, they're a bit crazy, I shared my dorm room with them. When we reached fifth year, it was hard not to see Dean and Seamus snogging everywhere and Neville always had some sort of plant on his bedside table. Then there's Luna, she's a bit strange but she's always going for you, especially if you want a conversation that's not serious at all. There's Fred and George too, Ron's older twin brothers. They're absolutely hilarious. Once they set off fireworks during the exam period."

"Really?" Draco asked, laughing.

"Yup," he replied proudly. "It was a surprise that Dumbledore didn't expel them, though they did drop out of school that year."

Draco's heart dropped. "You knew Dumbledore?"

The smile faded a bit from Harry's lips. "Yeah."

"Is that why you were so nervous when you came in?" Draco asked, closing his eyes, hating Fudge even more for locking him up.

"Yeah, but it's alright!" Harry reassured him. "I'll get you out of here."

"Harry, there's no chance," Draco said softly, looking at Harry's earnest face.

"Yes there is," he said determinedly. "My godfather was accused wrongly of a crime and his kind of boyfriend got him out."

"Kind of boyfriend?" Draco asked amusedly.

"Well, yeah, they were dating before Sirius, my godfather, was arrested and he didn't get a chance to tell Remus that it wasn't him who committed the crime. It was a really personal crime too so Remus didn't come see him until thirteen years later. Then he hired a lawyer and they got the actual criminal locked up. I can ask Remus if he could get that lawyer again," Harry replied.

Draco smiled. "You would do that for me? You've only just met me."

"I know what an innocent man looks like, I don't care if I've just met you," Harry replied firmly.

And for the first time in a while, hope unfurled in Draco's chest, all because of his new guard who believed that he could get Draco out of this mess.
