Drunken Bet

Pansy giggled as she took another from the bottle of firewhiskey that was hanging loosely from her hand. She left Millicent, who was talking to a wall, and stumbled over to Draco and Blaise.
"Heyyyy Draco!" She slurred as she fell on Blaise's lap. "Guess what I think?"
Draco raised a pale eyebrow. "What?"
"I think you have a crush on Potter!" Pansy giggled as Draco's face turned red.
"I do not!" He whispered back harshly.
"I bet you do! I bet you want to go on a date with him!" Pansy slurred. "But I bet you couldn't even make him go on a date with you! You're too frowny," Pansy made an exaggerated frowning face at him.
"Yes I could! I'll prove it to you. I will ask Harry Potter on a date tomorrow!" Draco said defiantly before standing up and making his way back to the dorms.
As soon as Draco was out of sight, Pansy got up from Blaise's lap and sat on the chair that Draco was previously sitting in. "And now we wait," she said.
"What?" Blaise asked.
"I'm not actually drunk, it's just water. This is part of my plan to get Draco and Potter together. I've been working on it with Granger," Pansy replied.
"Granger! Why have you been talking to her?" Blaise asked in an appalled voice.
"My god Blaise, weren't you listening? I've been talking to her to make up a plan for Potter and Draco to get together," Pansy said with a frown.
She stood up and walked back to Millicent, who was now blinking confusedly at the ceiling. Blaise frowned at her retreating back.
-
"Hey Potter!" Draco called from his spot on the wall.
He saw Harry look at him before turning to his friends telling them to move on. He also saw Pansy hiding behind a bush and Hermione giving the bush a smirk. Draco was distracted from his thoughts when Harry appeared in front of him.
"Yes Malfoy?" He asked.
"Go on a date with me," Draco blurted out before he could doubt himself. Harry's face filled with confusion.
"What?" He asked.
"Go on a date with me," Draco repeated.
"Uh, sure?" Harry replied hesitantly.
"Cool, meet me here after curfew" Draco said before turning around and walking past the shaking bush.
-
A picnic. That was what Draco had planned. And he couldn't help but cringe at the cheesiness of the idea. He was sure that Harry was going to laugh at him. But that didn't seem to matter since he didn't show up. Draco waited for fifteen minutes before sighing. He turned around to leave but got distracted by the sound of running footsteps. Harry skidded in front of him, with his normally tanned cheeks flushed. Draco could help but find that adorable.
"Sorry I'm late, Ron kept questioning me," Harry panted.
"That's fine. Follow me," Draco turned around and lead him to where he had placed the basket next to the lake. The walk was awkward and so was half of dinner.
Harry fidgeted nervously before blurting out, "I like you!"
"Really?" Draco said in shock.
Harry nodded nervously. Draco sat there without saying anything. Harry mistook his silence as rejection.
"Sorry," he muttered awkwardly. "I'll just go then . . ."
"No, wait!" Draco exclaimed. "I didn't mean it like that. Please stay?"
"Oh, sure," Harry said, relief clear on his face.
As the date ended, Draco realised he had way to much fun. After packing everything away, he stood up and held out a hand to help Harry up.
"Thanks," he muttered. They stood there awkwardly before Draco broke the silence.
"Can we do this again?" He blurted out.
"Yeah, I'd like that," Harry smiled.
"So, same time next week?" Draco asked. Harry nodded before pressing a kiss to Draco's cheek and dashing off to the castle.
Draco stood there for a good five minutes, holding his hand to his cheek.

So Fridays became date nights for the two of them. It had been three weeks since they went on their first date Draco had come to a realisation. A terrible one or a fantastic one, he wasn't sure. It was definitely a surprising one. Draco had fallen in love with Harry. It was something about his green eyes and wild hair that Draco thought was adorable. So when Harry arrived at the lake that Friday night, Draco told him.
"I love you," he blurted out. Harry stopped and blinked.
"Really?" He asked.
"Uh, yeah," Draco rubbed the back of his neck.
He was about to apologise when he felt a pair of chapped lips press against his own. "I love you too," Harry said back.
Draco smiled and brought Harry's lips down to meet his again. They were kissing for three minutes or so when someone leapt out of the bushes.
It was Blaise.
"He doesn't love you!" He yelled, pointing a finger at Draco. "It was all part of a bet. He never would've asked you on a date."
Draco stared at Blaise in shock. Harry stepped away from him.
"Is this true?" He asked. His voice was calm, but his eyes showed hurt.
"Yes, but-" Draco tried to explain himself, but Harry had stormed off.
Draco spun around to glare at Blaise. "What the bloody hell was that for?"
"Oh please. I was doing you a favour. Now you don't have to date that bloody wanker anymore," Blaise said smugly.
"I don't have to, I want to," Draco spat before racing after Harry.
-
It took Draco half an hour to find Harry, who was hidden in a secret passageway. When Draco did find him, he found Harry sitting with his head resting against his legs and his shoulders shaking with sobs.
"Harry, please listen to me," Draco pleaded. "Yes I admit it, it was part of a bet, but over this month, I fell in love with you and that had nothing to do with the bet. Blaise was talking complete bullshit."
Harry lifted his head up and Draco's chest ached when he saw his beautiful green eyes rimmed red. "Do you mean that?"
"Yes," Draco said earnestly. He held out a hand to help Harry up and he took it.
"You have to make it up to me though," Harry said.
Draco smiled widely and threw his arms around Harry in a tight hug. "I will, I swear."
-
And he did. He had asked Hermione how he could make it up to him, who had first slapped him, squealed and then gave him a list of everything he needed.
Then over the next two weeks, Draco left small gifts for Harry on his bed, that were put there by Hermione, and guarded by Ron, who was surprisingly okay with the relationship. Along with the gifts, he left a note telling one reason why he loved Harry.
After two weeks of doing this, Harry walked up to him during breakfast and kissed him. Draco barely registered Pansy's squeal and the clinking of coins as students handed money over to the others who had won bets. All he could focus on were Harry's lips on his own.
Of course, Draco bought flowers for Pansy and Hermione as a thank you for getting them together.

Hey guys! Sorry for the long wait, I was in a different country for a month and I've started getting ready for school again, so I haven't had much time to update. Hope you enjoyed the chapter!
