Going Away Gift 7

Harry's soul marks have always confused him.

Not because they say anything weird, but because there's two.

On each arm.

Harry has never met anyone else with two soulmates, and he's beginning to think he's fucked up.

So he keeps one, and covers the other with concealer he steals from his mother.

While Oops, I didn't see you there is prominently displayed on his right arm, the words Watch out! are covered.

And while I love you shines brightly on his left arm, I'll never forget you is hidden from the world.

It happens when he's seventeen and walking down the street. A girl carrying a huge stack of books crashes into him.

They both fall to the ground, and she immediately crawls over to him to make sure he's okay.

"Oops, I didn't see you there!" she chuckles brightly. "Sorry!"

Harry grins despite the minor pain in his head. "Don't worry about it."

Suddenly he stiffens, and stares at her. She's holding out her arm, which says the exact words Harry just said.

Harry shows her his arm. She smiles brightly.

"Hello soulmate," she chuckles lightly, picking up her books. "I'm Hermione."

Harry smiles. "Harry."

"Wanna... grab coffee?"

Harry helps her pick up some of her books, and holds them for her. "I'd love to."

A half hour later, the pair are sitting in a café. Hermione is drinking her latte, but Harry is simply drumming his fingers next to his iced coffee.

"Erm... Harry? Is something wrong?" Hermione asks.

Harry glances at her. "I'm not sure yet. I have a question."

Hermione nods, encouraging him.

"Do you... have... two-"

"-soul marks?" Hermione guesses, grinning. She rolls up her sleeve, rubbing away at makeup to reveal black, half-concealed words.

"I felt awkward, because know one else did," she says, her face flushing.

Harry grins and rubs his concealer too. "It appears we had the same idea."

She smiles. "What are your other soulmate's first words?"

"Watch out," Harry replies.

Hermione frowns. "Hm...  We must be at different spots when we meet him. Mine says 'Hello, you must be Hermione.'"

Harry grins. "Well, this should be interesting. In the meantime, we should really get to know each other."

Hermione leans forward, smirking.

*two months later*

Harry wakes up to his phone ringing. He smiles at his girlfriend's antics, and presses the answer button.

"Eight a.m. wake up call!" her bright voice sings.

"Good morning to you too, love."

There's soft laughter. "Wanna meet at the library today? I need to get a book."

Harry laughs. "You and your books." But he knows the book is for her test on her psychology exam next week. She's trying to get her doctorate in psychology, and is in her last year of schooling.

"Well excuse me Mr. 'I have a job'." Hermione's joking tone rings through the phone. "You can pick me up at four o'clock. We'll go to the library, and maybe grab an early dinner and bring it back to your place?"

Harry stands up, stretching, before he answers. "Sounds good. See you at four, love."

"Bye, Harry!"

*****

"Harry!" Violet sings as Harry steps into the café. "How is Miss Granger?"

"She's wonderful, always is. How are you?"

"Wonderful, as always," she mocks, grinning. "What'll it be?"

"You already know, don't pretend you don't," he teases, but decides to humor her. "One iced coffee and a latte."

She rings it up. "Going to surprise Miss Granger with coffee and a visit again?"

He smiles. "She deserves it. Her exam is next week, and she's stressing out."

She smiles. "You're a sweetheart, Harry. Have you found out who your..." She drops her voice. "-other soulmate is yet?"

Harry shakes his head, taking the two coffees. "It's alright though. Hermione doesn't need the distraction of another person right now."

She takes the money. "Good luck, darling!"

"Thanks, Violet! See you tomorrow!"

"See you!"

Harry steps outside, smiling.

"Watch out!"

Harry is stunned by the words, but jumps to the side. One of the café umbrellas crashes right where he was standing.

He looks up, startled, to see a blonde boy staring at him in horror.

"Christ, thank you," Harry says.

The blonde's eyes go even wider. "Soulmate?"

Harry nods.

The blonde coughs. "Well."

Harry nods toward his car. "I have to take this coffee somewhere. Wanna take a drive?"

The blonde raises his eyebrows slightly, but nods.

As Harry starts driving, the blonde speaks up again.

"My name is Draco."

"Hello Draco. I'm Harry. I suppose you have another soulmate mark too?"

Draco nods. "Do you know who he is?"

"She," Harry corrects. "Her name is Hermione, and that's who this coffee is going to."

"Oh great, I get to meet both of my-"

"Actually," Harry cuts him off. "Could you maybe... wait a week until meeting Hermione? I'm sorry, I know it sucks, but she's in college and trying to get her doctorate in psychology and her test in next week and a new soulmate will make her very distracted."

Draco nods. "I understand. How long have you two known each other?"

"We met about two months ago, started dating about a month and a half ago."

"Oh, cool."

"Yeah. Do you work somewhere?"

"Yeah. The jewelry store down the street from the café is my father's. I'm carrying on the business. You?"

"I work at a little bakery a couple blocks away."

Draco nods, smiling. "Is you bringing coffee to Hermione and almost getting injured a regular thing?"

"Well, I bring her lattes a lot, they're her favorite. As for almost getting seriously injured and saved by my missing soulmate, no that doesn't happen often."

Draco snorts. "Do you two live together?"

"No. She has a dorm on campus, and I have an apartment a few blocks away from here."

"Oh."

"Where do you live?"

Draco blushes. "The Malfoy Manor."

Harry almost crashes his car. "You're Draco Malfoy? Jesus Christ, one of my soulmates is Draco Malfoy? Your father is one of the richest people in the world!"

Draco hides his smile. "Yeah, I'm aware."

Harry pulls up in front of the campus. "Uh... can you wait here?"

Draco smiles and nods, handing Harry the latte.

Harry takes the stairs two at a time, knowing Hermione will be leaving for class in five minutes.

He opens her door. "Morning Mione!"

She spins around in her chair, a wide smile on her face. "Harry!" She hugs him, and takes the latte as Harry kisses her cheek.

"Thank you, I needed this."

"I know you did. Listen, I gotta run, but have a good day, okay? Study hard!"

She blushes, and kisses him lightly. "I always do. See you at four."

"See you!"

Harry jogs back downstairs, and gets back in his car, slightly breathless.

As he starts driving, he asks another question. "What time do you leave for work, and what time does your work start?"

"I usually leave my house around 8:45 a.m., and work starts around 9."

"Perfect," Harry says, turning a corner. "I'll pick you up at the Manor tomorrow."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Hermione wakes me up at eight every day, and I leave the house at eight twenty. My work starts at 9 too, and even with getting coffees and bringing them, I'm always way too early. Getting you would make that better, plus I get to spend time with you."

Draco blushes. "Sounds good to me."

"What coffee do you usually get?"

"An iced caramel macchiato, usually. Why are you asking? You're not going to buy me coffee, are you?"

Harry winks, and Draco groans.

"Here you are!" Harry says brightly, and Draco blinks.

"Wha- you brought me to work?"

"Yes. And because you never got your coffee, here." Harry hands him his iced coffee.

"What- you don't have to-"

"Get out of my car, Draco, before I start driving. I'll pick you up at 3:45."

"Um. Okay? Thanks?"

"You're welcome. Goodbye!"

***

For the rest of that week, Harry forms a pattern.

Wake up at 8. Leave at 8:20. Pick up an iced coffee, a latte, and an iced caramel macchiato (which has Violet giving him questioning smirks). Pick Draco up at 8:30. Give him his coffee, and drive to Hermione's school. Bring her her coffee, wish her luck, leave. Drop Draco off at work. Go to work himself. Pick Draco up at 3:45, drop him off at the Malfoy Manor. Pick up Hermione at four, grab dinner and eat and study at his place. Bring Hermione back to her dorms before 11. Repeat.

Harry wakes up a week later to his phone call. He smiles.

"Eight a.m. wake up call!"

"Good morning, love. You're going to do great on your exam today!"

"Thanks Harry. See you in a bit?"

"Of course. Goodbye!"

"Bye, Harry!"

Harry gets ready quickly, and drives to the café.

"Morning Violet," he singsongs.

"Good morning, Harry. How is Miss Granger?"

"She's wonderful. And you?"

"Wonderful. I met my soulmate yesterday!"

"We'll have to meet up and discuss this soon, but for now, you know what I want," Harry laughs.

As Violet begins ringing up his purchases, she opens her mouth again.

"Alright, I've shut up about it for a week, but I have to know, who's the other one for?"

Harry grins. "I found my other soulmate a week ago. But we can't tell Hermione until later today, because it would distract her from her exam."

Violet squeals. "Who is she?"

"He. His name is Draco."

Violet squeals higher. "I should have known! He used to order the same thing every day, and then he stopped coming a week ago!"

Harry grins as she hands him the drinks. "See you soon, Violet!"

"See you!"

Harry hops in the car, and drives down the Malfoy Manor. Draco hops in the car, smiling.

"Hello, Harry!"

"Hello, Draco." Harry hands him his macchiato and starts driving.

"So, Hermione's test is today."

"Yep. Which means today is the day you're meeting her."

Draco smiles brightly.

Harry brings Hermione her coffee, and drops Draco off, and goes to work. After work, instead of dropping Draco off at the Manor, he drops him off at his house.

"We'll be back soon," he promises.

***

Hermione hops in the car.

"Oh my goodness, Harry, it was so stressful, I thought I was going to fail, but the questions were actually fairly easy. And I finished early, and I was so scared because no one else was done, but the professor went over mine while everyone else was still taking the test, and after class he called me over and told me privately that I had gotten a perfect score!"

"Hermione! That's great!" Harry cheered, pulling up to his apartment.

As they walked inside, Harry felt nerves twisting inside of him, but pushed them down. He needed to calm down.

"Harry? Why is your kitchen light on?"

Draco steps out of the kitchen, smiling.

"Hello, you must be Hermione."

Hermione's mouth drops open. She stares at him, then Harry, then him.

"Oh my god," she whispers. Draco smiles at the confirmation words, and shows her his wrist.

"Harry... how long..."

"A week. We didn't want you distracted from your exam."

"A.... a brilliant idea really." Hermione is blinking, stunned.

"She aced her exam," Harry says proudly.

"Did you really?" Draco is smiling at her with pride, and Hermione lunges forward and hugs him.

"I'm so happy, I've never been happier to have two soulmates, oh my goodness, it's so good to meet you, what's your name?"

"Hermione. Let's go out to dinner, and you can ask as many questions as you want there," Harry suggests, smiling.

Hermione practically shoots out the door like lightning.

*One month later*

Harry wakes up to his phone ringing. He smiles, and answers it.

"Eight a.m. wake up call!"

"Good morning, love. Excited?"

"God, yes. I'm almost out of here! And the office on Fifth Street, they called back! They'd like an interview with me!"

"I'm so happy for you, Mione!"

"Alright, I'll let you do your thing. See you in a bit?"

"See you!"

Harry quickly gets ready, and drives down to the café.

"Good morning, Violet!"

"Good morning Harry! How is Miss Granger?"

"She's wonderful. How's Alex?"

"Stunningly sexy as ever. And Mister Malfoy?"

"He's amazing, of course. Can I get-"

"One latte, one caramel iced macchiato, and one iced coffee?"

"Yes, please," Harry replies smiling.

She takes his money, and hands him the drinks. "Have a good day!"

"You too!"

Harry hops in his car, and pulls up in front of the Manor.

Draco slides into the front seat, and kisses him lightly. "Morning, darling."

"Good morning sunshine."

Harry starts driving as Draco drinks his macchiato, and when he pulls in front of the school, him and Draco both step out.

They jog up the stairs, and open Hermione's door.

"Draco! Harry!" She hugs each of them in turn, and takes her latte from Harry. "You idiots better be at my graduation tomorrow."

"You're twenty-three, you shouldn't be this excited about graduating school," Draco says sarcastically.

Hermione huffs, and kisses Harry. "Just for that, you don't get a kiss."

Draco's smirk falls. "Oh no, please? It's not a good day if I don't get at least one kiss from both of you."

Hermione, laughs, kissing him. "Go! You idiots are going to be late for work!"

"Have a good day!" Harry calls.

"See you later!" Draco yells.

*****

Harry pulls in front of the jewelry store at 3:45, and Draco hops in, smiling and kissing Harry's cheek.

Harry starts driving towards Hermione's school.

"You know I could buy you a better car? Like a Ferrari Sergio or something?"

"Draco, you know I love my Camaro. I will kill you if you attempt to replace it in any way."

Draco sighs. "It's a disgrace!"

"It is not. It's more expensive than your education."

Draco fake gasps, and hits Harry's arm, laughing. "Asshole!"

Harry pulls in front of the school, and Draco hops out, opening the door for Hermione, who slides into the passenger seat. Draco sits in the backseat.

"So honey, how was school?" Draco asks in a fake parent voice.

Hermione gives him an I will kill you lookin the mirror. "Don't make me stab you."

"No stabbing in the Camaro!" Harry protests.

"Maybe then you'll get a less shitty car!" Draco yells.

"It's more expensive than your education!" Hermione shouts back.

Harry starts laughing. "That's what I said!"

He and Hermione high-five. Draco pouts.

Hermione makes kissy faces at him in the mirror, and Draco's demeanor dissolves, and he starts laughing.

Harry smiles at his companions. His soul marks no longer confuse him, and he's never been happier to have two soulmates.
