Granger-Malfoy
A/N: Hey everyone! Hope you liked the last oneshot. I didn't get much time to write it since I started writing it on Monday, so it turned out to be a bit weird and escalated quickly. Anyways, just to let you all know, this oneshot is a bit different than the other oneshots because I have changed a few canon scenes, and added those which didn't happen in the series at all. Read the A/N at the end to find out when the next oneshot will be out. On with the chapter!
"Are you mental, Hermione?"
Hermione looked up from her book to see Ron pacing in front of her. She closed her book, and said, "Harry doesn't have any problem with this, Ronald."
"That's because he is mental as well." Ron exclaimed. "I am not going to become a part of this. I am leaving."
But before he could even take a step further, Hermione used her wand to petrify him. "Should have just listened to me." She muttered.
She looked away from him when the door opened, and noticed her best friend standing there. "Stil not convinced?"
Hermione shook her head. "He is being stubborn, Harry. And he doesn't even have a proper reason to deny coming with us, not that he will ever be able to."
Harry sighed. "Can't we just take him like this and meet them?"
"We can't do that, Harry. What do you think he will do once the spell is removed?" Hermione asked him.
"You can just use petrificus totalus on him everytime he opens his mouth to say something." Blaise said as he entered the room.
Harry narrowed his eyes at him. "Sometimes I wonder why did the Order even allow you to be here."
"Because I defected?" Blaise smirked. "Or because I am dashingly handsome and charming. Oh, and extremely talented as well."
"You should stay away from your best friend. He is a bad influence on you." Hermione commented.
"So, he is not a bad influence on his girlfriend, as known as, Hermione Granger?" Blaise winked at her.
Before Hermione could say something, Harry interrupted them. "Let's go back to the original topic, yeah? Oh wait, why don't you come with us, Zabini? After all, Malfoy's your best friend, isn't he?"
"Yeah, he is, but he is also a git. I wouldn't mind meeting Narcissa though, she is a great company but... I need to be here, and brew some potions. You lot go and enjoy!" Blaise said, and exited the room.
Hermione looked towards her best friend. "Let's just get this over with."
------------
"Hermione! It's so good to see you!" Narcissa smiled as she pulled the Gryffindor witch in for a hug.
Hermione returned the hug and smiled. It had been months since she had last seen her, and of course, she missed her.
"Oh yeah, forget about your boyfriend. Who, mind you, is waiting since hours to meet you." Draco rolled his eyes as he walked closer to them.
Hermione pulled away from Narcissa, and wrapped her arms around Draco, who smiled as he finally had his witch in his arms. He pulled away a bit to kiss her, forgetting that there were others standing there and watching them.
Hermione pulled back when a cough interrupted them. She turned around to see Harry awkwardly standing there. "If you two are done, can we just get on with the matter?"
"Why Potter, aren't you happy to see me? I would have thought you would be here, greeting me with a box full of apple pies." Draco smirked at him.
"If you are done with this, Malfoy, I would like to discuss the matter. Wouldn't want to stay here long enough for your death eater friends to notice us now, would we?" Ron glared at him.
Before Draco could say something, his mother stepped forward. "I assure you, Mr Weasley, we don't want to waste your precious time. However, if you use that tone while talking to my son, I would have no choice but to use a spell on you." She smiled sweetly at him.
"Alright, everyone! So, umm...Malfoy, what information do you have? And please, tell me that no one has a doubt that you and your mother are helping us." Harry said.
Draco nodded and told him every information that he had managed to gain over the past few weeks. It wasn't an easy task, but since he was planning to join the Order, he had to do it.
After he was done, Harry simply nodded and looked towards Hermione who had noted everything he told them on a parchment.
"Okay, seems like we are done here. If you get any information, just inform Hermione through that coin, and we can schedule a next meeting." Harry said.
"Of course, Potter. But I am afraid that it might take me a few days to get the information. The Dark Lord is planning to send me on a mission soon." Draco sighed. He looked at Hermione who mouthed 'be safe' and smiled at her.
"Mr Potter," Narcissa said before the trio could leave, "Can me and my husband join the Order as well?"
"Narcissa-" Harry started, but she cut him off.
"We wouldn't join the Order like Draco plans to do. I thought that me and Lucius can join the Order secretly, and stay here at the Manor. So we can help you all if we manage to gain any information." Narcissa said.
"I would have to ask Kingsley for this. But, in case he agrees, I don't think Malfoy should join the Order like Blaise did, telling everyone that he defected. If anyone got to know that he has detected, then I don't think you and Lucius would be safe. Malfoy can just join us, and you can tell the death eaters that he was missing, or maybe he was captured somewhere." Harry suggested.
"Wait! You can't just trust her like that, Harry! She, her husband and her son are freaking death eaters! They will just-" Ron exclaimed.
"Ronald, shut up. If you don't trust them, then you can happily go and complain to someone else, who would care to listen." Hermione said.
"No one asked your opinion, Weasel. And frankly, I don't care whether you trust us or not. You aren't the Minister of Magic, and even if you were, I. DON'T. CARE." Draco glared at him.
"Draco," Narcissa placed a hand on his shoulder, "calm down. If you three don't mind, can we do the next meeting in the village near the Manor? There are some things that you might find useful there. Also, there are some people who would like to join the Order, and we can't bring them here with us in case they tell anyone else. You three can meet them after our next meeting, and tell them that you were just visiting and heard them talking about joining the Order."
"If you think that we are going to fall into your trap, then you are crazy-" Ron started but stopped when Hermione glared at him.
"It's good idea. Besides, I don't think the other death eaters like to visit that village, and they might not even know about it, due to the protection spells around it. We will talk about it when we go back, and inform you tomorrow." Hermione told them.
"Well, I guess that was all. We should probably go back now." Draco said and stepped closer to Hermione. "Stay safe, Granger. I still need you to tell me about those Muggle books which you love so much."
Hermione nodded and quickly kissed him. They pulled away when Harry cleared his throat. "I don't wish to stand here awkwardly and watch you two. Let's just go back."
------------
Three days later...
They had scheduled their meeting to be held today in the village near the Malfoy Manor. The Golden Trio had arrived seven minutes earlier than the time they had decided, as they always did.
Fortunately, Voldemort had decided against sending Draco on the mission, and the Malfoy heir had managed to gather some information.
The meeting with the villagers had gone well. Harry had used the Veritaserum on them, and was satisfied with their answers. They could also duel quiet nicely. But still, they had to ask Kingsley to personally meet them.
An hour after the meeting was over, Hermione and Draco were talking with each other while standing in a corner. Harry was discussing some things with Narcissa, and Ron was eating or more like, stuffing the food in his mouth.
Narcissa was just about to call her son, when suddenly there was a shout.
"RUN EVERYONE! THEY ARE HERE!" Somebody shouted.
Draco turned around in confusion to see everyone shouting and going back to their home. He managed to grab a villager's hand, stopping them and asked, "What is going on?"
"They have removed the spells which were protecting this village! They are going to attack us." The man exclaimed, and pushed Draco away from him.
There was no point in asking who 'they' was.
The Death Eaters.
They had managed to remove the spells.
"Hermione," He turned towards his girlfriend, "You and the two idiots need to get out of here right now. Somebody could capture you!"
She quickly nodded, and let him grab her hand, leading them towards his mother, Harry and Ron. He had to shout to make them listen to him because most of the villagers were shouting and running around.
Somehow, they managed to hear him and did as he told them. As soon as the trio dissapparated, he grabbed his mother's hand, and quickly dissapparated them as well.
After making sure that his mother was safe in the Manor, he apparated back to the village, and began casting protective spells around it.
But due to the chaos around him, he didn't manage to see someone looking at him.
He quickly helped the injured people, not bothering to check if a death eater noticed him or not.
The cackling of a curly haired witch could be heard as she noticed her nephew helping people, and before that, talking with the Golden Trio, along with his mother.
-----------
The next day...
Narcissa had arrived earlier than the scheduled time.
It wasn't anything suspicious, but Hermione thought that it was weird since she and her son never arrived earlier, they always came on the time decided. It was the Golden Trio which always arrived earlier.
So when Narcissa arrived earlier, that too, without her son, Hermione found it to be weird.
Draco had found a Potions book that could help them. Also, he had the location of a few death eaters' safe houses, and he couldn't send them through the owl in case it got intercepted. So, he had to call them to meet his and his mother here.
Also, Lucius had wanted to meet them as he too wanted to join the Order.
"Ahh... There is my favourite mud- I mean, Muggle born. How are you, Miss Granger?" Narcissa smiled at her.
Hermione frowned. Narcissa never, ever said things like that. She always hugged her, and said her name.
"I am good, Narcissa. Why are you here earlier? And, where's Draco?" Hermione asked him.
"Draco? I didn't know you were on first name basis with my son, Miss Granger. I thought you two hated each other." Narcissa looked at her, and her two best friends.
This time it was Harry who frowned. "What do you mean by that, Narcissa? Malfoy is her boyfriend, why will they hate each other?"
Narcissa stared at him in confusion. "Oh whatever. Okay, so why did you three wanted to meet me today?"
Ron, who was the only one out of the Golden Trio who hadn't thought that she was acting weirdly, said, "Well, Malfoy told us that he had a book that might be useful, and Lucius-"
"Hermione?" The Trio turned around to see Draco and his mother standing behind them, Draco's hand was clutching his wand tightly.
"Draco? What's happening? And, Nar-" Hermione started but was stopped when somebody grabbed her hand tightly.
"See you in the Manor, my dear nephew." The first Narcissa, who was standing behind her, smirked at Draco, and dissapparated, bringing Hermione along with her.
"BELLATRIX!" Draco shouted angrily.
----------
One day later...
It was Bill and Fleur's wedding today.
And, to everyone's surprise, Draco Lucius Malfoy would be attending it.
Yesterday, when Bellatrix had brought Hermione with her to the Manor, Draco, Narcissa, Ron and Harry had apparated to the Manor as well.
Fortunately for them, nobody was there in the Manor besides Lucius at that moment. Bellatrix had thrown Hermione into a room in the dungeons, and by the time the Malfoys, Ron and Harry had managed to find them, Bellatrix had crucioed Hermione several times, and was carving the word 'MUDBLOOD' into her arm.
It didn't help the matter either that Bellatrix had somehow managed to cast some complex spells around the room, which had taken several minutes for them to remove.
Though Draco was kind of expecting it, he couldn't help but gasp when Narcissa stunned Bellatrix.
"You don't dare to hurt my family, Bella!" Narcissa shouted.
She Obliviated her sister. Bellatrix wouldn't remember noticing her, or the others at the village, nor using Polyjuice and meeting the Trio.
Draco, with Hermione in his arms, had gone to the Burrow along with Ron and Harry. He had decided that it was finally the time to join the Order. Narcissa and Lucius had remained at the Manor, though they secretly joined the Order as well.
Draco had stayed with his girlfriend for the rest of the day. He even glared at Ron when he had told him that he would stay with Hermione.
Hermione had woken up three hours later, and the first thing she saw was Draco sobbing. His head was resting on her stomach, while one of his hands drew small circles on the palm of her hand. The hand on which she knew Bellatrix had carved that word.
He didn't talk to her for an hour after she woke up, saying that it was his fault she got hurt in the first place, and therefore she should be angry with him, and ignore him as well.
But of course, Hermione Jean Granger was a stubborn witch and she simply called him stupid when he said that.
She angrily punched Draco's chest and cried when Kingsley told her that she wouldn't go on any missions, not even on the hunt for the Horcruxes with Ron and Harry.
Draco didn't stop her.
He even brought her some books when she chose to stay away from everyone after the Death Eaters had arrived at the Burrow during the wedding, and Ron and Harry had started their hunt for the Horcruxes.
Thankfully, Hermione had made three coins several weeks ago. They were an improved version of the DA coins. You just had to tap your wand on the coin, say the person's name and the message, and that person would receive it. Ron and Harry had always kept those coins in their pockets, so even if Hermione couldn't go on the hunt with them, they would be able to communicate with her.
"Granger," Hermione looked up from the book as Draco entered the room, "Dinner is served. You should eat."
She smiled. He always called her Granger.
"Draco, come here." She held out her hand to him.
He placed his hand on hers, and sat down next to her on the bed. She turned a bit, and wrapped her arms around his waist, her head resting on his chest.
"I am sorry for punching your chest. I was angry, and I took it out on now." She didn't bother to look up at him. She knew what his expression would be.
"It's fine. Wasn't the first you punched me, anyways." He smirked and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
Hermione smiled and kissed his cheek. "I love you, Draco."
She felt him stiffen at her words. He took a deep breath, and placed his other arm on top of hers. "Granger, I-I..."
"I know." She was still smiling at him. "I know you do, you don't have to say it for me to know, Draco. Brightest Witch of Our Age, remember?"
Draco managed to allow a small smile to make its way on his face. He never told her that he loved her, never found the courage to do so. He didn't even believe that he was capable of loving someone until he met her.
She never got angry at him when he didn't say those words to her back. She knew that he would eventually say them.
Salazar, he didn't deserve her.
But being the selfish person he was, he won't let her go.
---------
2nd May 1998...
Draco planned on proposing to her today.
He had even decorated the small library that Hermione had made in one of the rooms of the Burrow, and placed a table and two chairs in the centre of the room.
He wanted to propose to her in the place she loved.
Nobody knew about this, except Narcissa and Lucius who had gladly helped him to plan this. Narcissa even scolded him for taking this long.
Draco fiddled with his fingers as he entered his room. He was a bundle of nerves as he eagerly waited for his witch to wake up.
She was currently sleeping on his bed, the book she was reading was next to her. He smiled and sat down next to her, gently stroking her hair as her eyes fluttered.
She slowly woke up, smiling as she saw him, and he helped her to sit up. "How's Scorpius?" He asked, placing his hand on her belly.
"Good. But I think he was missing his daddy." She grinned at him.
"Well, daddy had to plan something special for your mummy, Scorp. But don't worry, I am here now." He smirked and kissed her stomach.
"And what exactly were you planning, Mr Malfoy?" She asked him.
"You will have to wait and see for yourself, Granger. But I hope my efforts won't go in vain." He told her.
Hermione placed her hand on his cheek. "You have no idea how much I love you, Draco. And in just a few days, we will be able to meet our son."
Draco turned his head and kissed her palm. "Do you remember the first time I said those three words to you?"
Flashback
It was the last week of September.
Draco was writing something when suddenly Hermione barged into the room. He immediately stood up when he saw tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Granger, what happened?" He grabbed her upper arms.
"I know we didn't plan this, Draco, and with everything that is going on now, and You-Know-Who is probably planning to attack us. I know, but-" She started rambling.
"What happened?" Draco interrupted her.
"Please don't be angry, Draco." She whispered as she cried.
He wiped her tears and gestured her to go on. "I-I am pregnant, Draco."
He froze.
"Y-you are... Are you sure?" He stuttered.
Hermione nodded. "I took a Muggle test. And, it came back positive. I still had a doubt and called Narcissa. She performed a spell, and it showed that I am pregnant."
Draco didn't do anything but sigh. "I am sorry, Draco, but please don't be angry. I understand that-"
He silenced her with a kiss.
After a few moments, he pulled back and rested his forehead on hers. "I love you."
Hermione smiled widely when he said those words. She wiped her face and quickly kissed him. "I know, I love you too, Draco. But you aren't angry or upset, are you?"
He shook his head. "I can't tell you how happy I am now, Granger, and how much I love you." He placed his hand on her stomach. "Thank you so much."
Flashback over
"I want to show you something, come with me to the library?" He stood up, and held out his hand to her.
Just as she was about to place her hand in his, they heard someone shout downstairs.
"HOGWARTS HAS BEEN ATTACKED! WE ALL NEED TO GO!"
-----------
"I want to go and help them as well, Narcissa." Hermione sighed.
"Hermione, you are almost nine months pregnant. You can't go there and risk yourself or the baby. Draco strictly told me to not let you go there in any case." Narcissa placed her hand on her shoulder and squeezed lightly.
Suddenly, Narcissa gasped as the ring on her finger burned. Hermione knew what it meant. The ring only burned when a Malfoy was in danger.
"Narcissa, you need to do there. Either Draco or Lucius is in danger, and they need your help. Go there!" Hermione exclaimed.
"But, Hermione, I-" She started but was cut off by her.
"I will be fine, Narcissa. If anything happens, I'll quickly send my patronus to you, but you need to go there now." Hermione said.
Narcissa reluctantly nodded. "Okay, but promise me, Hermione you won't do anything stupid."
Hermione nodded as Narcissa stood up and grabbed the wand. With one last look at her, she dissapparated.
Summoning a book towards her, Hermione tried her best to not let her mind think about what was happening there at Hogwarts.
Hermione was about to keep the wand away, when her eyes widened.
It was Narcissa's wand.
According to pureblood traditions, a muggleborn could use a pureblood's wand nicely, but the same won't happen if a pureblood used a muggleborn's wand. They could only use it to apparate somewhere.
It meant that Narcissa was practically defenseless as she couldn't use Hermione's wand.
Without a second thought, Hermione grabbed Narcissa's wand, and apparated to Hogwarts.
---------
A few hours later...
"And what will his name be?" The Healer asked them.
Draco smiled at his son, who was currently in his mother's arms. "Scorpius Malfoy."
The Healer nodded and left the room to give them privacy.
"You know I am still angry at you for coming to Hogwarts, don't you? You were hit with six crucios, Granger, anything could have happened." Draco narrowed his eyes at her.
"I am fine, Draco." She smiled. "And Scorpius is fine as well. Wait, you wanted to show me something earlier, didn't you?"
Draco nodded and stood up. Bending down on one knee, he pulled out the ring from his pocket. "I wanted to show you how I had decorated the library, and ask you this question. But now, I can't wait any longer. And forgive me because I don't remember the speech I had planned to say. But still, will you marry me, Granger? I can't promise you that I won't make mistakes, but even if I do, I'll waste no time in apologizing to you. I don't deserve you at all, but if you will let me, I'll try my best to make myself a person worthy of you love. Will you marry me?"
Hermione couldn't help but smile widely at her words. Begging the tears to not escape her eyes, she quickly nodded. "Yes, Draco, yes. A million times, yes!"
Draco placed the ring on her finger and kissed her.
------------
Three years later...
"...And that's how Voldemort was defeated and we won the war." Narcissa smiled at her grandson.
"I was born on that day!" Scorpius exclaimed.
"Yes, you were, love." Narcissa chuckled. "But why did you want to hear about that day? You always become sad when I tell you how he was defeated."
"I wanted to know if mum left us because of me. It's true isn't it? Weasel said it was." Scorpius looked at his feet.
"Oh Scorp." Narcissa sighed and hugged him tightly. She didn't bother to correct him when he said Weasel. He wouldn't ever call Ron as his uncle, rather call him by the name his father used to call Ron.
"It wasn't your fault, love. Your mum would never want you to think that. And don't mind that Weasel, he was jealous of your dad and so he said that. He loved your mum, but your mum loved your dad. Weasel is stupid, okay?" She smiled at him.
"Did she love me?" He asked her.
Narcissa nodded. "She did. She said that she loved you when you were in her arms, but... She was just tired, Scorp. There were a lot of dark spells used on her, and she couldn't... But you should know that she will always be proud of you. You talk to her portrait everyday with your dad, don't you? And she always smiles at you."
"Why does dad call her Granger-Malfoy?" He looked at her.
She chuckled. "Your mum asked him the same thing. He used to call her Granger, and said that he would call her Malfoy once she agreed to marry him. But she said that her name would be Hermione Granger-Malfoy. So, he told her that he will call her Granger-Malfoy. She agreed to marry him after she gave birth to you. The ring was a Malfoy heirloom, so technically, she's a Malfoy even though they didn't get a chance to marry."
"He's talking to her now, isn't he? I want to go there as well." Scorpius looked out the window.
---------
Draco wiped his tears when he saw his son and his mother coming towards him.
They all lived in a big house, not as big as the Manor though, near the countryside. He had bought it before the Battle of Hogwarts, and Hermione had absolutely loved it. Her favourite places were the big backyard, garden and the library.
"Can we celebrate it here, dad? I want to talk to her that time." Scorpius stood next to him.
"Of course, Scorp." Draco smiled. "Your mum would love it. This was one of the favorite places of hers."
"I'll help granny make the cake as well. I hope mum will like my drawing." Scorpius grinned and ran back towards the house.
"Lucius will arrive here shortly. You talk to her, I'll look after Scorp." Narcissa smiled at him and walked away.
Draco sighed turned towards the grave. "I hope you will be happy to know that our son loves books just like you. But, I'll buy him a broom soon. I hope he will be the Slytherin Seeker like me."
"I don't know what to do anymore, without you it's just... If it weren't for Scorp, I don't think I'll be able to live... One moment you were saying yes to my question, and the next you just..." He shook his head. "I will come back later with Scorpius."
He turned away. Before he could take a step forwards, he looked over his shoulder. "Happy birthday, Granger-Malfoy."
A/N: That's it for this oneshot. It was 4300+ words. Hope you guys liked it. I know it was sad, but I had this idea and I wanted to write it. Still, I tried to make it as happy as I can. Random question: What house do you think Scorpius Malfoy would be in? Answer in the comments below. Vote, comment and please share my story. Reviews are always appreciated. Thank you!
