The Mirror
Ron goes the mirror of erised hoping to see Hermione with him in the future.
It was their sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and tensions were running high. Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy had been forced to work together on a project for Professor McGonagall's class, and despite their initial reluctance, they had found themselves actually enjoying each other's company.
Ron Weasley, Hermione's longtime friend and crush, was not happy about this newfound friendship. He had always harbored feelings for Hermione, and the thought of her spending time with Draco made him jealous and angry.
One day, while wandering the halls of Hogwarts, Ron stumbled upon the Mirror of Erised. The ancient mirror had the power to show the viewer their deepest desires, and Ron couldn't resist the temptation to see what he wanted most.
He looked into the mirror and hoped to see himself with Hermione in the future, happy and in love. But to his disappointment, Hermione was nowhere to be seen. Instead, he saw himself alone and miserable.
Meanwhile, Hermione had also discovered the Mirror of Erised and had looked into it herself. She saw a vision of herself and Draco, happy and in love, with a small child playing at their feet. The shock of the vision left her breathless, and she quickly left the mirror behind.
Draco, too, had stumbled upon the Mirror of Erised and had seen the same vision as Hermione. Overwhelmed by the emotions it brought up in him, he had fled from the mirror and avoided Hermione for the rest of the day.
Later that evening, Hermione and Draco found themselves alone in the library, and the tension between them was palpable. Finally, Hermione summoned the courage to speak.
"Draco," she said, her voice shaking slightly. "I have to tell you something. I looked into the Mirror of Erised today, and I saw us together in the future, with a child."
Draco's eyes widened in surprise, and he took a step closer to her. "Hermione," he said softly. "I saw the same thing."
They stood there for a moment, looking at each other, before Hermione spoke again. "What does this mean?" she asked.
Draco hesitated for a moment before answering. "I think it means that we have a choice to make," he said. "We can either continue to deny our feelings for each other, or we can take a chance and see where they lead us."
Hermione nodded slowly, and they both fell silent, lost in thought. Meanwhile, Ron had been stewing in his jealousy, and he stormed into the library, ready to confront Hermione and Draco.
But before he could say anything, Harry Potter, their friend and fellow Gryffindor, stepped in and smacked Ron across the back of the head.
"What are you doing, mate?" Harry asked, looking at Ron with disappointment.
Ron hung his head, realizing that he had let his jealousy get the best of him. "I'm sorry," he muttered, before turning and walking away.
Hermione and Draco watched him go, before turning back to each other. They knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but they were both willing to take the chance and see where their feelings would lead them.
