Quidditch Cheer
What if Hermione cheer for Draco.
Hermione Granger was not a fan of Quidditch. She found it to be a dangerous and somewhat frivolous sport, and had always preferred to spend her time buried in books or working on her latest academic pursuit. However, as a devoted friend and loyal member of the Hogwarts community, she felt it was her duty to attend the matches and show her support for the school's teams.
It was during one such match that she found herself cheering for the most unlikely player on the pitch: Draco Malfoy. The former Slytherin had returned to Hogwarts for his final year, and had surprisingly been selected as the new Seeker for the Slytherin Quidditch team. Despite his past transgressions and his ongoing feud with Hermione's best friend Ron Weasley, Hermione found herself drawn to him in a way she couldn't quite explain.
As she watched him dart and weave through the air, his lean frame and blonde hair flashing in the sunlight, Hermione couldn't help but feel a strange sense of pride and admiration. She knew that Ron would never understand her newfound appreciation for Draco, and so she kept her cheers and her thoughts to herself.
But Ron was not blind to Hermione's behavior. He noticed the way her eyes lingered on Draco, the way her voice rose higher whenever he made a particularly impressive move on his broomstick. Ron had always harbored a deep-seated jealousy of Draco, stemming from their long-standing rivalry and the fact that Hermione had once been forced to attend the Yule Ball with him. He couldn't help but feel threatened by Hermione's sudden interest in his former foe.
After the match, as the Hogwarts students filtered out of the stadium and back towards the castle, Ron pulled Hermione aside. "What was that all about?" he demanded, his ears turning red with anger. "Why were you cheering for Malfoy like that?"
Hermione looked at him calmly, her expression unreadable. "I was just supporting the team," she said. "That's all."
Ron didn't believe her for a second. "You know he's not a good guy, Hermione," he said. "He's a Death Eater's son. He's always been a bully and a jerk. Why are you suddenly acting like he's some kind of hero?"
Hermione sighed. She knew that Ron would never understand the complex array of emotions that had been churning inside her since she had first laid eyes on Draco that day. She knew that he would never be able to see beyond the surface-level animosity that had defined their relationship for so long.
"I don't know, Ron," she said finally. "I just...I think people can change. I think maybe there's more to Draco than we've ever given him credit for."
Ron shook his head, his eyes blazing with anger. "I don't trust him, Hermione," he said. "And I don't trust you when you're around him. Just be careful, okay?"
Hermione nodded, her heart heavy with a sense of loss and confusion. She knew that her friendship with Ron would never be the same, now that she had admitted her feelings for Draco. But she also knew that she couldn't deny the truth of what she felt, no matter how much it might cost her in the end.
