What if Ron had feelings for Hermione but she was dating Draco.
Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy had been dating for several months now, and although it had been a rocky start, they had grown incredibly close. They spent their days studying together, sneaking kisses in empty classrooms, and exploring the castle in ways they never had before.
But there was one person who wasn't thrilled about their newfound relationship: Hermione's best friend, Ron Weasley.
Ron had always had a bit of a crush on Hermione, and the thought of her being with Malfoy made him feel sick to his stomach. He tried to be happy for her, but every time he saw them together, he couldn't help feeling a twinge of jealousy.
It all came to a head one day when Ron walked in on Hermione and Malfoy kissing in the Gryffindor common room. He had been looking for Hermione to help him with his Potions homework, but instead found her in a passionate embrace with his arch-nemesis.
"WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!" he yelled, storming into the room.
Hermione and Malfoy jumped apart, both of them looking guilty and ashamed.
"Ron, I can explain," Hermione began, but Ron wasn't having any of it.
"I don't want to hear it, Hermione," he spat. "How could you do this to me? To us?"
Hermione felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes. She had never seen Ron so angry before, and the thought of losing him as a friend was almost too much to bear.
"Ron, please," she begged, reaching out to touch his arm. "I know this is hard for you, but Draco and I really care about each other. We're not trying to hurt anyone."
Ron shook her off, his face turning red with rage. "I can't believe this," he muttered, storming out of the room.
For the next few weeks, Ron barely spoke to Hermione. Every time he saw her with Malfoy, he would scowl and mutter under his breath. Hermione tried to reach out to him, but he refused to listen.
It wasn't until one night when Ron found himself alone in the common room that he finally broke down. He had been trying to study, but couldn't focus. All he could think about was how much he missed Hermione, and how much he hated Malfoy for taking her away.
Suddenly, Hermione walked in, looking hesitant and uncertain. "Ron, can we talk?" she asked softly.
Ron looked up, his eyes red-rimmed and puffy. "I don't know if I can do this, Hermione," he said, his voice breaking.
Hermione sat down next to him, taking his hand in hers. "I know this is hard for you, Ron," she said gently. "But I need you to understand that Draco and I care about each other. We're not trying to hurt anyone."
Ron sighed, looking down at their hands. "I know," he said quietly. "It's just...hard to see you with him. I've always had feelings for you, Hermione, and seeing you with someone else hurts."
Hermione felt a pang of guilt in her chest. She had never wanted to hurt Ron, but she couldn't ignore her own feelings for Malfoy. "I'm sorry, Ron," she whispered. "I don't know what to do."
