Chapter 11| Kevin
It's been almost six weeks since the auditions, and Ms. Davis still hasn't decided whether Tweek or Craig will play Scarecrow. It is slightly irritating, as I haven't yet been able to make the costume for Scarecrow as Craig and Tweek have different measurements.
However, practicing with Craig has been amazing. He's a great actor, and he's lots of fun. Currently, we're practicing a scene between Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion. However, I got distracted and began to act like an actually lion.
I was on all fours, crawling around the room stupidly and roaring. Craig was laughing. He holds his stomach, dropping the script as I crouch, then pounce on Craig.
I knock him to the ground, holding him down as I'm sat on his waist.
"Roar!" I laugh, and Craig snickers even more. We stay in this position, just laughing.
It's nice. Goofing around with someone who isn't Clyde. It's not that I dislike hanging out with Clyde, I actually adore it, it's just refreshing to have more friends.
I can tell my mum I've upgraded from three friends, to four. She'll be so proud.
What was a sweet moment, soon turns sour.
Before I can even process, Craig leans up. He's no longer laughing. I look at him confused, still giggling slightly. Then he presses his lips against mine. While his eyes are shut tightly, mine are wide in shock.
Craig's kissing me!
He's kissing me!
I'm cheating on Clyde!
Immediately, I stumble off of Craig. With red cheeks, I wipe my mouth with my sleeve. Again and again and again.
"C-Craig!" I shout, cursing myself for the voice crack. "Why did you do that?!"
Craig scrambles to his feet, cheeks also pink. He gulps, catching my gaze with his. "I think I wanted to?" It sounds more of a question then a statement, and Craig tried to approach me.
I shake my head, quickly moving backwards. Due to my clumsy nature, I trip over a stool and land on my behind.
Craig kissed me.
I can't get over it. He has a boyfriend. He's happy with Tweek, but he kissed me. I have a boyfriend, he knows this. He's made me commit adultery!
"I didn't!" I squeak, scrambling to my feet. "Clyde is my boyfriend! Clyde is your best friend! You would kiss your best friend's boyfriend?!"
"I guess?" It sounds like a question once more. Craig's biting his bottom lip, conflict swimming in his grey orbs.
"I'm flattered Craig," I tell him, my tone soft. "But I love Clyde."
Then, I gasp. The events which just occurred vanish from my mind as I cover my mouth in shock.
I just said the L word! Love! I said I love Clyde. Oh my gosh, I love Clyde.
"I love Clyde." I whisper, more to myself then Craig. I then meet his gaze, removing my hands from my mouth. "I love Clyde!"
Immediately, I push past Craig to the door. Sprinting through the corridors, I search high and low for my boyfriend. I love him, and I must tell him everything. Once I spy him, leaning on some lockers beside Tweek, I rush over to him and grab his hands.
He raises an eyebrow. "Kev?" He questions, brown eyes looking from my face to our hands. "What's wrong?"
"A lot of stuff!" I squeak, cursing myself once more for my tone. "Craig.. he.. uh.. he kissed me! I totally didn't kiss back!" I stare into his eyes, hoping they tell him that I'm not lying. "I pushed him away straight away, and he said that he wanted to kiss me. But it sounded like more of a question, and then I told him I love you! Clyde! I love you!"
My breath is slightly hitched by the time I'm done with my explanation, and Clyde's mouth hangs open in shock. Due to my tone and volume, people in the corridor are facing our way. Clyde opens his mouth to speak, but I don't get to hear what he says.
Tweek acts fast, ramming his fist into my jaw. The impact of the punch is so fierce, I let go of Clyde and stumble back. The metallic tang of blood assaults my taste buds, and I cringe. The pain is sharp, and I feel the sting of tears.
"Tweek!" Clyde shouts, standing in front of me as I hold my hurt jaw. "Did you not listen to him?!"
"Of c-course I did!" Tweek spits, glaring past Clyde at me. "He and Craig kissed!"
Tweek then shoves Clyde, and he hits the lockers. Clyde groans, causing my attention to snap from Tweek to him. Bad idea. Tweek takes this chance to king forward, hitting me in the stomach. A crowd quickly forms.
I yell and struggle, limbs flailing in an attempt to block any further punches from the shorter blond. My attempts at safety backfire. Tweek clutches my arm, and bites. I scream, scared Tweek will bite until I bleed. I struggle under the pain of Tweek's bite, desperately trying to free myself.
Then, I'm freed by Craig. He shoves Tweek harshly, and he stumbles against the lockers just like Clyde. Only Tweek bangs his head. I pull my arm towards my chest, feeling tears slip down my cheeks as I stare at the reddening mark. It's coated in spit, the shape of Tweek's teeth almost engraved onto my arm. Thankfully, there's no broken skin.
Clyde is soon at my side.
"Craig!" Tweek gasps, then glares. Clyde presses a kiss to my cheek, then storms up to Craig.
"Fuck you!" He shouts, slamming his fist into Craig's nose. Craig stumbles, almost losing his balance as he holds his nose.
"Clyde? What the hell?" Craig groans, voice an octave lower. Clyde is just staring at his fist as he stands beside me. He looks shocked at the fact that his punch actually drew blood.
We lock eyes.
"I've got the power." Clyde gasps, raising his already bruising fist. If I wasn't clutching my throbbing arm I'd rush Clyde to the nurse. But instead, I place my hand on his shoulder.
"With great power, comes great responsibility."
