Chapter 16| Kevin
It turns out, Clyde is really good at arcade games. He beat me the first round of Mario Kart, so we did a second round. When he beat me again, I was determined to defeat him, so determined that I put money on it thinking it would make me want to win more, however I lost. My dignity and my money.
"I hate you so much." I whine, sticking out my bottom lip as I place my money into his palm. Clyde smirks and tip toes so he can bop my nose.
"Cheer up Kev, there is more games to play. You're obviously going to be better than me on.. Ah! The Pac-Man machine." I glance over at the now empty machine, Gregory and Mole seemed to have left the machine alone.
I rush over and slam my hand down on the machine and press my back against it as Bebe and Red approach the machine.
Bebe scoffs as she sees us at the machine.
"You're so lucky you look hot pressed up against that machine." Red says, pointing at me and licking her red lips. Bebe giggles.
"I agree." She nudges Red and takes out her phone. "Should I?"
"No, you shouldn't." I say, leaning against the machine.
"Oops." Bebe says as the camera flashes. "My thumb slipped. How unfortunate. What shall I do?"
"Delete it?" Clyde suggests as he stands next to me.
"I can't. The delete button.. Broke." She says as she turns around and walks towards a pinball machine. Red's eyes trail down me and I shiver under her fierce gaze.
"Nice shirt." She says, then walks towards Bebe with a sway of her hips.
"You do look good pressed up against a machine." Clyde agrees, looking my up and down with his arms folded. His gaze isn't as fierce or intense as Red's. Just comforting. I shove Clyde and roll my eyes.
"Keep it in your pants." I tell him, slipping my coin into the slot. The screen bursts to life, and a list of scores are on the machine.
"Wow, I never knew Mole was actually played games." Clyde comments and I glance at the scores.
At the top, is Mole. Followed by Craig, then Gregory, Kyle, Stan and Cartman. The other scores didn't make it up, and I see that my score has been dropped down by the inclusion of Gregory and Mole.
"My score's gone." I say and Clyde chuckles.
"Then get it back. I'll buy you whatever food you want if you can beat Craig's score. Just to piss him off." Clyde offers, and I glance at Craig's score.
"How am I supposed to beat 10,147?" I ask him, and he stands beside me.
"Mole did. With Gregory distracting him too." Clyde reminds me and I scoff.
"It's not going to happen." I tell him, while clicking the play button. I grip the joystick, staring at the screen in concentration.
"I'll buy you whatever food you want." Clyde offers.
"I know that." I say, over the sound of Pac-Man eating the orbs. "And I really don't want to pay for my own food."
"Then beat Craig's score." Clyde says, and I just about dodge a Ghost.
"I almost died." I tell him, moving the joystick with the amount of strength I have. It's really stiff.
"I know, I'm watching you. I would stand behind you and hold onto you, but I can't see over your shoulder." Clyde says, shrugging. The thought of Clyde hugging me from behind and being in his, hopefully, warm and inviting hold comes to mind, distracting me once again.
"You're distracting me." I tell him, dodging another Ghost and managing to eat a cherry.
"Oops." Clyde says, moving closer to me and slipping his arm around my waist. I wiggle closer to him, still keeping my concentration on the screen.
"I've nearly made it past 1000." I say hopefully, and Clyde smiles.
"Come on Kev. You can beat Craig and push Cartman off of the leaderboard. You can get free food."
"I really want free food." I say, collecting a special orb which gives me the power to eat the Ghosts. I hurriedly chase after them, managing to eat two.
"You can do this." He reminds me, squeezing my side. I squeak slightly, and hit his calf with my foot. Clyde let's go off me and laughs as I attempt to keep my attention on the screen.
"That squeak made my heart explode." Clyde tells me poking me in my side. I squirm away from him, dodging yet another Ghost.
"For saying you want me to beat Craig's score, you sure are doing everything to make me squirm."
"It's cute." He tells me, standing behind me and trailing a finger down my spine making me shiver and giggle.
"Clyde! I'm not supposed to be cute." I scold him, pushing past the score of 3000.
"Too bad." He says, wrapping his arms around my waist and attempting to tickle me. I drop the joystick and wrap my arms around myself, forgetting what Clyde offered.
"Stop!" I say, laughing and attempting to push his arms away. "Sugar honey ice tea!" I shout, realising what I did. I reach forward and grasp the controls, steering Pac-Man from what would've been his death.
"Um, what?" Clyde asks, removing his arms and standing beside me.
"I almost lost my chance to get free food!" I tell him, collecting orbs and cherries.
"Seriously?" He asks, glancing at the score at the top of the screen. I don't dare take my eyes off of Pac-Man.
"Yes. I guess you don't understand what the concept of free food means to me."
"What if I no longer want to buy you free food?" Clyde asks me.
"Then.." I attempt to think of something to use. "You will not get to kiss me."
Clyde gasps dramatically, placing his hand over his heart. "This is how much free food means to you?"
"Yes."
"Than I guess I have to buy you food, if you beat his score."
"If?" I ask, not taking my eyes from the screen. "What's that supposed to mea- gah!"
