Chapter 13| Craig
They call you cry baby, cry baby
But you don't fucking care
Cry baby, cry baby
So you laugh through-
I'm waken by Melanie Martinez's song, and groan while rolling over to grab my phone.
I grab it, and look at the screen. It's bright, and my eyes have to adjust to the screen to see that CryBaby is ringing me. Of course it's Clyde, I have Melanie's song Cry Baby specifically set for when he rings.
I groan, pulling my covers over my head and sitting up. As I'm about to click accept, the phone changes screens. It goes to my home screen, which would've been a horrific and cringe worthy picture of me, Red and Ruby, but there's notifications on the screen.
CryBaby
CRAIG
CryBabg
WAKE UP IDIOT
CryBaby
CRAIG MOTHER FUCKING TUCKER
Seven missed calls from CryBaby
I groan in annoyance, and my eyes flick to the battery percent. It was 100 when I fell asleep. Even though it's plugged into the charger, Clyde ringing seven times and his messages have drained my charge to 71 percent.
I click on Clyde's notification to ring him back, but my screen bursts into life and the song Cry Baby plays. Clyde has rung me, once again.
I click on accept, and Clyde's voice comes through the phone as I hold it to my ear.
"FINALLY!" He shouts, attempting to burst my ear drums and I move the phone a couple centimetres away from my ear. "I knew you were awake!"
"I wasn't," I say, my voice croaking from sleep. I clear my throat, attempting to make my voice normal again.
"Oh.. Well, that's your problem not mine." Clyde says, "I need to talk to you."
I remove my phone from my ear to glance at the time displayed at the top. I sigh in annoyance, and return my phone back against my ear.
"At 3:30 in the morning?" I growl, and Clyde giggles annoyingly.
"Well, I didn't see you at school yesterday." Clyde says.
"I was with the drama students all day." I tell him, leaning back against my pillows.
"All day? Seriously? Kevin and I finished the main costumes, so we have time to speak with each other properly." Clyde says happily.
"What do you need to tell me?" I ask, the pillows tempting me to go back to sleep.
"Okay Craig, brace yourself."
"I don't care."
"KEVIN ASKED ME OUT!" Clyde shouts, and I'd be surprised if blood wasn't spilling out of my ears.
"Clyde! You are going to make my ears bleed." I tell him, rubbing my right ear and balancing my phone between my left shoulder and left ear.
"Well, I told you to brace yourself." He says.
"I thought you meant that the news would be so shocking, that I'd have to brace myself. Not brace myself in the way that means you're going to be loud." I say, still rubbing my ear.
"Well, Kevin asked me out." He repeats.
"Chubby, braces wearing, acne galore Kevin Stoley asked you out. Good job Clyde." I say.
"He's changed! And even if he still was chubby, or still had braces I wouldn't care. Looks aren't everything Craig. And you've had braces too by the way."
"And they didn't work for me." I say, running my tongue over my messed up teeth.
"They worked for Kevin. His teeth are so straight." Clyde's silent for a moment as I attempt to word a joke about his teeth being straight, but Kevin not being. "And you can shut up with the gay straight jokes. I know you're thinking of one."
"Guilty as charged." I say and Clyde laughs.
"Okay, how was your day then?" Clyde asks, still laughing a little.
"It was normal. But weird."
"OO! Do tell!" Clyde exclaims, and I know that he's gripping his phone excitedly.
"Well, I was helping people get into costume."
"And? Did Bebe flash you? She always flashes people. It's fine." I raise an eyebrow, then notice he can't see me.
"No. She offered me to take off her clothes though."
"Did you accept?" Clyde asks.
"No."
"So you are gay!" I sigh.
"Why do people think I'm gay?" I ask.
"Well, Red told us that you used to have an obsession with Beyoncé and Lady Gaga.. But I don't think that's why."
"That was three years ago! And how does that make someone gay? What if I liked Beyoncé's figure and stuff?"
"If you liked her 'figure and stuff' you wouldn't refer to it as figure and stuff." Clyde says, and then speaks again. "Now tell me, what weird thing happened?"
"Well, fine. But we are not done with this conversation." I tell Clyde, and he's silent on his end. He's probably nodding. "So, I helped dress Tweek-"
"Oh my god.. Did he come onto you?!" Clyde screeches, and I once again godly the phone away from my ear.
"No."
".. Did you come onto him?"
"No. Well, accidentally I think." I tell him, shifting the pillows behind me.
"Accidentally?"
"I touched his stomach and he shivered, I touched his ear and he moaned." I say, and I feel my cheeks heat up as I remember Tweek moaning under my actions. I take the covers from my head, and shudder.
It's cooler without them on.
That's why I went red. It wasn't him. It was..
Too hot.
"Hot damn." Clyde says, and I look at the phone confused.
"Excuse me?"
"Well, you said 'it's cooler without them on, that's why I went red. It wasn't him, it was.. Too hot.' So I felt like it was my duty to say hot damn." Clyde says, and I know he is shrugging. "Also, that's why I think you're gay. You're blushing at the thought of another guy."
"No I'm not."
"You just admitted it." He says.
"It was supposed to be in my head."
"Closeted?"
"Shut up. Let me get to the point of telling you all this."
"Go ahead."
I take a deep breath. "I think Tweek has a crush on me."
Clyde's silent on the other end. He coughs, then speaks.
"You've just realised?"
"What?" I ask, stunned.
"It's so obvious. He stares at you, goes red around you. He's always shivering whenever you touch him. And the moan. Also, the random fights? He's covering up his feelings. You're so dumb Craig." Clyde explains.
"That's ironic, coming from the guy who got an F in his Biology test."
"Shut the hell up. I can't hang out tomorrow, got my date." He says, and I know he's smirking. I roll my eyes.
"I wasn't going to hang out with you. I have better ways to spend my Saturday's."
"Like?"
"An acting class with Tweek."
"Gay." Clyde says, and I roll my eyes.
"Goodbye Clyde."
"Goodbye gay."
I roll my eyes once again, and hang up.
-----------------------------------------------------
The play is in two days! Just a heads up, when the play done, the book soon will be too. The next three chapters will be Kevin and Clyde's date, and acting with Tweek and Craig.
Maybe you guys can put some acting scenarios that you want them to do together in the comments?
