"okay, yejoon's classes must be over soon. get ready, jeno cena", the purple haired boy announced seriously before taking a sip of his orange juice box.

a tired sigh escaped jeno's lips when the nickname of his was mentioned. "isn't it suspicious when we suddenly and coincidentally meet him and ask him about the fanclub situation?", the blond haired boy questioned, skepticism was written on his face.

"it'll be alright bro. we're friends and friends can chat", donghyuck reassured, waiting patiently in the hallways with his best friend, "i mean, we're in the same school building. it's quite possible for us to cross paths with each other."

jeno shrugged his shoulders, seeing the classroom door shut open the moment the bell rang.

"step one of our operation whose name we still have to agree on and find an abbrevation for will soon be executed", the purple haired boy announced whispering, making the older boy sigh once again.

"we really need a shorter name for it."

the two of them were looking for their mutual friend, scanning every student that left said room and passed by them.

"target detected", donghyuck commented when he spotted the curly brown haired boy walking out of class.

"we ain't in lasertag bro", jeno teased and smirked amusedly, having flashbacks of his words.

the purple haired boy turned to his friend, glaring at him while sipping his drink.

"we, as members of the detective boys, are on a serious mission, cena", hyuck mumbled before throwing away his empty juice box in a nearby trashbin.

"hey yejoon!", the purple haired boy elaborated their plan and immediately approached his friend who was heading to the lockers room.

jeno followed suit, standing next to his best friend and opposite to the sophomore.

"oh hey guys! what are you doing here?", yejoon asked smiling with curiosity being displayed in his eyes.

"we wanted to go to the vending machine and get some drinks and snacks", donghyuck excused, making his best friend grin in amusement.

"hasn't he just drunken an orange juice box and hasn't he eaten jaemin's snacks in previous break?", jeno thought to himself, wanting to use this against him just to (of course playfully) bully him.

however, he stopped himself from doing that not to intervene and ruin the operation.

"do you want to join us?", jeno asked instead, playing along and giving him a warm smile.

"it's on jeno!", donghyuck added enthusiastically, wrapping his arm around his best friend's shoulder.

"excuse me?!", the blond haired boy protested, not agreeing with his suggestion. hyuck grimaced as mischief was twinkling in his eyes. in return, he received a glare from jeno.

yejoon snickered when he saw the two of them bickering. their banter reminded him of him and a certain someone with whom we would always playfully fight. (*cough* renjun *cough*)

"i'll join you! i was craving food anyways", the sophomore complied grinning, making his friends beam.

"yay! and jeno pays!", donghyuck insisted cheerfully, resulting in jeno to roll his eyes at him.

"no, i won't", the blond haired boy rejected, shaking his head.

at the end, jeno ended up paying for all their drinks and snacks. (rip his pocket money.)

"thanks for paying, jeno", yejoon gave him a smile and took a sip of his beverage, "i appreciate that."

"yeah, thanks babe", donghyuck sent a flying kiss over to his best friend who playfully dodged it and rolled his eyes at him.

the purple haired boy glanced at him, sulking, before taking a bite of his strawberry bar.

"anyways, how is school so far? any news?", jeno changed the topic, giving hyuck a hint to help him out for the mission.

"how is the fanclub going? do you have new tea?", the latter added curiously, hoping that his questions weren't too suspicious.

yejoon's eyes widened for a brief moment at the mention of the fanclub. the sophomore hesitated to respond, turning his face away from his friends.

"uh well... i'm not part of the fanclub anymore", he confessed quietly, making the two juniors gasp.

"what? why not?", donghyuck asked, acting shocked as if he just heard from the news. he was so glad that his acting skills backed him up.

"were they mean to you? or were they too much to handle?", jeno questioned softly. he wouldn't be surprised if they were since there were some crazy individuals and one shouldn't underestimate what they were capable of.

yejoon turned to look at the two older boys again. his lips were pursed into a thin line while his uneasiness was visible on his face.

"they were sometimes crazy but that's not the reason why i'm not part of the club anymore", he explained quietly before sighing.

"the fanclub got disbanded some weeks ago. it was so sudden and unexpected!", yejoon clarified in an upset tone.

"the members all started to hate on jaemin which i don't really understand. how can someone dislike him? he's a sweetheart!", the sophomore elaborated, sadness was written on his face.

"what the hell... how can someone hate on jaem?? he's such a good person", the blond haired boy said aloud, frowning.

"isn't it weird that they switched from being admirers to haters?", hyuck remarked, eyebrows furrowed, "do you know why they started hating on him?"

the curly brown haired boy shrugged his shoulders, not knowing the answer himself. "i wish i knew that... but i think it has something to do with the rumors that are spread about jaemin", yejoon pondered, feeling his heart becoming heavy.

"probably...", jeno mumbled before dropping the next question, "do you have an idea who exactly spread the rumors?"

yejoon shook his head no. "sadly not..."

"do you think someone from the fanclub has spread these rumors?", hyuck asked, curious for his answer.

"i don't know honestly", the sophomore shrugged, "that could be the case but i'm not quite sure. it could be someone extern having told them that. but if it was for the fanclub members, i wouldn't know who. i don't know them all too well."

"i see...", jeno muttered, tapping one finger on his chin while thinking hard.

"it could be any fanclub member but none of them has a true motive to ruin jaemin's life... except they got rejected by him i guess? or they were so delusional and shit and realised that jaemin won't be their boyfriend?... nahh, i don't know... what if that was someone outside the club telling the fanclub this bullshit? but who could that be and why do they bother to share this nonsense?... damn, how would detective conan solve this?"

"woah but... you've mentioned that the club doesn't exist anymore for weeks. why didn't you tell us about it?", donghyuck inquired gently, tilting his head.

"i wanted to keep it a secret as good as possible since i didn't want jaemin to know about it and be even more hurt", yejoon answered honestly. a deep sigh escaped his lips as his gaze shifted to the floor.

"he's been going through a lot of things. he doesn't need to know that his fans turned into his haters."

jeno and donghyuck exchanged knowing looks before nodding.

"you got a point...", the purple haired boy commented bitterly, "he's dealing with a lot of things lately... unfortunately."

his heart was filled with sorrow when he thought of his best friend having to suffer from the rumors. he didn't deserve that, he had never hurt a single soul.

"i hope this whole mess stops soon."
