a doorbell ringing sounded in the house, signaling yejoon's belated arrival. the pink haired boy headed to the entrance and opened the door.

"hey, you're really early!", jaemin teased and stepped aside, letting the younger one enter his home.

"your neighbourhood is so confusing, okay? i kept on running around in circles for about twenty minutes... leave me alone", yejoon whined, taking off his shoes and jacket as the pink haired boy closed the door behind him.

"why didn't you call me? i could've picked you up", jaemin wondered and saw yejoon's mouth drop open in realization.

"damn, i didn't think of that..."

"you're so silly", the male junior chuckled amusedly, making yejoon blush in embarrassment.

"hey! i wanted to find your home on my own with maps... even though i suck at directions and geography", the younger boy tried to justify, raising his hands in defense, "and i mean, i did find it at the end. took me a while but here we are now."

"alright, you did a great job!", jaemin praised giggling, patting his friend's back.

"let's go to the living room now. i've prepared everything", the pink haired boy mentioned and led him to the room.

the curly brown haired boy gasped out loud the moment he stepped in the living room.

several fancy dishes were spread across the table. orange juice filled the two, expensive-looking wine glasses that were placed near the meals. even candles were lit up, creating a cozy atmosphere.

"are we in a five-star restaurant or why did you cook a five course menu??", yejoon rambled dumbfoundedly, blinking numerous times to check if he was seeing it right, "i'm impressed."

"it's nothing. i just cooked something for you. as promised", jaemin responded nonchalantly and shrugged his shoulders as it was the most normal thing for him to cook a five course menu for one friend.

the sophomore stared into an imaginative camera with a 'can-you-believe-this-guy?' look before shifting his gaze back to his friend.

"what do you mean by 'it's nothing'? it's a whole ass chef menu!", the curly brown haired boy stated irritatedly, watching jaemin take calmly a seat.

"oh, come on. you're too kind", the older one snickered before patting the space next to him, "now sit down before the food gets cold."

yejoon did as requested, taking a seat next to his friend and still feeling overwhelmed by the meals. "damn, it feels like a fancy movie date", the former remarked grinning, not being able to move on from the food.

"did you think it's not?", jaemin joked in a serious voice, wanting to mess a bit with yejoon. his eyes were glued on his seatmate, anticipating his reaction.

"what??", the younger one replied in shock, feeling his cheeks turning pink at his words.

"we're on a date?!", yejoon thought to himself as his heart was acting up. he was the embodiment of gay panic in that moment.

"just kidding", the pink haired boy revealed and laughed amusedly, "you should've seen the look on your face!"

"oh, shut up", yejoon mumbled, wearing an annoyed look on his face when in reality, relief and a tiny bit of sadness washed over him.

jaemin's laughter became louder when he saw his irritated expression. that leads to the younger one giving him a playful smack on his arm as compensation. "you're unbelievable."

"sorry, can't help it. it's just so fun to tease you", the older boy admitted mischievously, making yejoon feel flustered

"i'm so done with you", yejoon responded, pretending to be annoyed to disguise his true feelings.

jaemin smirked proudly before grabbing the tv remote and turning on the device in front of them.

"by the way, feel free to dive in the food. we can eat while watching movies", the pink haired boy added and searched for the film, "i hope you like it."

"i sure will", yejoon reassured grinning with his mouth almost drooling at the sight of the dishes displayed in front of them, "it looks extremely delicious. no wonder why hyuck and jeno are obsessed with your food."

a sheepish smile appeared on jaemin's face after hearing it, followed by soft chuckles and a gentle 'thank you'.

it didn't take him long to spot the wanted movie on the screen. "enjoy the cinematic masterpiece, my dear friend", jaemin announced happily before pressing a button to to play 'high school musical'.

as the last movie of the trilogy had come to an end, jaemin glanced curiously at his seatmate. "and? what do you think?"

"well...", yejoon paused, collecting his thoughts before continuing, "it's not bad. it was sometimes cringe but it's funny. the songs are catchy too."

the pink haired boy beamed in joy as a bright smile was tugged at his lips. "see? it's not that bad! don't judge so quickly again, okay?", jaemin lifted his finger, giving him a strict look like a parent scolding their kid.

yejoon nodded and let out amused chuckles, finding his look funny. "understood, sir."

a satisfied grin was plastered on jaemin's face, feeling proud that he was able to convince his friend.

now it was yejoon's turn to force jaemin into watching a movie. the younger boy chose twilight because he simply wanted to cringe with jaemin.

it was hilarious at the beginning — they bursted into laughter several times and cracked jokes about the characters and story.

in the middle of the movie, however, jaemin started to slowly trail off. his mind shifted back to the past incidents from previous weeks.

he tried to escape his memories, tried to focus on the movie and distract himself from his thoughts.

nonetheless, it didn't work out. he always ended up recalling those moments with the speculation that one of the drama club members must be the culprit.

jaemin hated it. he didn't want it to be true, he wished that it wasn't the case that it was one of his friends. he wished that he didn't need to consider them as suspects. jaemin felt guilty for feeling like that; for suspecting them, for not trusting them enough.

jaemin hated himself for thinking of that. especially when he was hanging out with someone, his friend, his crush. he should enjoy the time with him and yet, he wasted his time with those thoughts.

"jaemin?", yejoon called gently and snapped him back into reality. the pink haired boy looked into his friend's eyes which were filled with concern once again.

his hatred towards himself grew stronger when he realised that he was the reason his friend was worried. it was the least thing he wanted.

"are you okay?", the younger boy tilted his head, his eyes stayed glued on jaemin, "you haven't reacted to my jokes and words and you seem spaced out... is something bothering you?"

"i'm... just tired", the pink haired boy admitted and leaned back, his eyes averting his friend's, "tired of all the drama in school, of all the rumors and gossip... i'm just so tired of everything."

a deep, frustrated sigh escaped his lips. his gaze remained on the tv in front of him as he couldn't look into yejoon's eyes.
or else he would completely break.

the sophomore pursed his lips into a thin line, understanding the hardship his friend was going through. his heart ached painfully when he saw this side of him. it almost tore him apart seeing him like that.

"i can imagine that it gives you a hard time...", yejoon muttered empathetically. "but i believe that you can go through it."

the younger boy placed his hand on his shoulder, resulting jaemin to glance at him in surprise.

"however, you don't need to go through all of that alone. you are not alone. there are always people who you can reach out to", yejoon added softly and gave him an adorable smile, "you can lean on me, okay?"

"okay", jaemin whispered and mirrored his smile. his mind was at ease when he heard yejoon's words. his little comfort meant the world to him. his reassuring words touched his heart and filled his void with warmth again. he was more than thankful for him.

yejoon removed his hand from his shoulders and stretched out his arms to the side. "need a hug?", he offered, his smile growing wider.

the pink haired boy didn't answer but pulled him close to him. his arms were wrapped around him, holding him tight as jaemin buried his face in his shoulder.

yejoon was extremely surprised and overwhelmed at first, nonetheless, he put his arms around the older boy and placed his chin on top of jaemin's head.

a comfortable silence engulfed the air as the two of them continued hugging each other, enjoying quietly the moment.
