"welcome back, renjun!", the pink haired boy greeted enthusiastically, stepping aside to let the older male in.

"damn, sounds like i was in hospital the way you are welcoming me", the chinese teased laughing and entered his friend's home, taking off his jacket and shoes.

"that's where you will be after i've beaten you in mario kart", jaemin joked around, making the two-toned haired boy gasp in disbelief.

"excuse me??", renjun shook his head in disappointment, "you will faint and be in hospital after you've seen me winning!"

"we will see", a little smirk was seen on jaemin's lips, making renjun feel a bit flustered.

the chinese was quickly distracted when the cats showed up, approaching him and yearning for his attention.

"omg hi cuties", renjun smiled brightly and crouched down to pat them. his heart warmed up at their sight.

"they are the sweetest ever!", the two-toned haired boy stated joyfully and glanced at his friend while caressing the cats.

"they are", jaemin agreed giggling and lifted up one of the triplets, gently holding his pet in his arms.

"you know, i'm surprised that they are never shy around you but like you so much like last time", the pink haired boy shared, cuddling his cat, "even though it's just your second time visiting me."

"really??", renjun asked in surprise while still playing with the two cats. the younger male chuckled amusedly and nodded in confirmation.

"it's funny that they are more sociable with you than with hyuck... although hyuck has come over more often than you", jaemin remarked grinning.

"hyuck always kinda fights with luke, it's hilarious to see their little battle", the pink haired boy responded amusedly.

luke, the cat that happened to be the one being held by jaemin, wore a funny expression at the mention of donghyuck.

the two-toned haired boy laughed at luke's expression, "deserves him right."

renjun and jaemin were now seated on the couch in the living room. the cats made themselves comfortable next to them while the two boys were extremely focused on the screen.

their fingers swung quickly above their controllers and clicked buttons to activate special items to their advantage.

yells and laughter filled the room as they played mario kart. both of them had won one round before and both of them were determined to win, not wanting to lose.

it was the last around for them that would decide whose victory it is.

"i swear to god, if someone shoots a blue shell at me, then- WHAT THE FUCK, WHO WAS THAT?? WHICH ASSHOLE SHOT THE BLUE SHELL AT ME??", renjun shouted madly and cursed the person who was responsible for sabotaging his first rank.

jaemin laughed like a menace and thanked that unknown person for doing that. "you jinxed it! now i'm in lead!", the pink haired boy remarked teasingly.

"shut up", the older boy commented and rolled his eyes, "watch me catching up, even though the blue shell threw me off guard!"

"you wish, renjun", jaemin teased him and saw his character on screen approaching the finish goal.

however, the two-toned haired boy actually caught up in the short time and was right behind him.

"oh no... renjun, don't you dare!", the younger male exclaimed in disbelief when he noticed the chinese's devilish sceme.

"sorry jaem, i have to keep my words", an amused smirk was plastered on renjun's face as he shot a green shell at jaemin's character, sabotaging him from reaching the destination.

the pink haired boy gasped loudly, watching the older boy's player passing by the finish goal.

"I WON", renjun shouted happily and jumped from the couch, dancing in joy for his victory.

"IT WAS SO DAMN CLOSE", jaemin whined complaining and caressed one of his cats as emotional support for his defeat.

"BUT I BEAT YOU! I TOLD YOU THAT I WILL BEAT YOU", renjun exclaimed mischievously, wearing a cocky smile.

"who is beating who?? i don't want anyone ending up in hospital, kids", a female voice chimed in, drawing the boys' attention.

renjun turned around to face jaemin's mother. his cocky smile faltered as embarrassment was written on his face.

"oh, hi mrs na!", the two-toned haired male greeted quietly and bowed politely, causing the na family members to laugh at the sudden change of him.

"hello, you must be renjun, right?", jaemin's mother asked smiling, seeing the younger boy nod confirming.

"nice to meet you, renjun! we finally meet in person", the woman mentioned happily as she wasn't there when renjun had visited jaemin last time.

"it's nice to meet you too, mrs na", renjun responded sweetly and gave her a soft smile.

"i'm glad that i can finally meet you in person! jaemin has told me a lot about you and he won't—", mrs na was ready to expose her son if he hadn't stopped her first by interrupting her.

"hahahah, that's enough tmi, my lovely mom!", jaemin added quickly in panic, making his mother frown.

"and to answer your previous question, mom", the pink haired boy changed the subject, hoping that his friend and parent didn't find him suspicious, "renjun and i played mario kart and he beat me... unfortunately."

a proud grin was plastered on renjun's face while jaemin sighed dramatically loudly.

"wow! congrats, renjun!", mrs na congratulated chuckling and received a gentle 'thank you' from the younger boy.

"okay, then i'll leave you boys alone. if you need me, i'm upstairs", the woman announced, not wanting to disturb their time too much. "have fun, kids!", jaemin's mother wished before going upstairs and disappearing.

"your mom seems like a sweet and cheerful person", renjun mentioned and sat down next to his friend again. "guess it runs in the family", he put on a soft smile and faced jaemin, making him blush slightly.

"i feel flattered", jaemin smiled sheepishly, not having expected to hear that from him. renjun's smile turned into an amused smirk, resulting the younger boy to gay panic inside.

"anyways, have you made up your mind about the bet? what do you want in return for winning it?", the pink haired boy asked curiously, tilting his head.

renjun's eyes lit up as he nodded eagerly. "i want you to go to an art museum with me", the chinese responded joyfully as excitement was written on his face.

"there is an exhibition i've wanted to see but i don't want to go alone there... i tried to persuade yangyang but he's too lazy to go with me", renjun explained and sighed in disappointment, causing the younger boy to laugh.

"sooo i was thinking of you being my company for the exhibition", the two-toned haired male commented softly, glancing at him in anticipation.

"sure thing!", jaemin agreed smiling, finding renjun's genuine joy and love for art precious.

"so basically we're going on an art museum date, don't we?", the younger one joked teasingly and wiggled his eyebrows.

"no, we're not", renjun rolled his eyes before an idea crossed his mind, making him smirk mischievously, "oh and since i've won, you have to pay for the tickets for the museum."

the chinese glanced at the pink haired boy, curious to see his reaction. however, he just shrugged his shoulders.

"it's fine with me as long as i can call it a date", jaemin mentioned smoothly and gave him a wink, leaning closer to him with a grin on his face.

"ugh, whatever", renjun responded annoyed even though he wouldn't really mind it being a date.
