mid-terms were just around the corner which is why the drama club members decided to have a study session together.

was the idea and intention behind it good? yes, it was.
was it actually a good idea to put these crackheads in the same room and let them study together? perhaps.

but here we are now. the group of friends were gathered at chenle's place once again, attempting to study together.

their attempt failed extremely as they all got easily distracted or simply procastinated the whole time.

they could've studied so much in the meantime, however, they did everything but study.

until jaemin reminded everyone that they should start studying since that was their original plan for today's meet up.

afterwards, the teenage students attempted to prepare themselves for their mid-terms.

nonetheless, some of them lost their motivation and will to study in the process. desperation took over them as their confused gazes remained on their books.

"the urge to burn down my maths book is really tempting y'all", donghyuck commented in despair, a tired sigh escaping his lips.

"the urge to throw away my maths book", haewon agreed hopelessly and ran her fingers through her black hair.

the male junior glanced at her, his eyes glinting with mischief while a smug grin was creeping up his face. "shall we?"

hearing that made haewon smile in joy. "i meaaan—", the senior contemplated, feeling very tempted by his suggestion.

"hyuck, haewon, no", a serious voice chimned in, wanting to stop the two from causing trouble for themselves and their grades.

"aww, mark, come on", the two math haters sulked simultaneously and even sighed in sync, sending jeno the shivers.

"it's creepy how you guys always say and sometimes do the same thing at the same time... that's creepier than the mid-terms", the blond haired boy whined as the group erupted in laughter.

"you can never escape it", donghyuck announced dramatically while wearing a wicked smile on his face.

"nevermind, i take it back. evil hyuck is creepier", jeno corrected himself, causing the purple haired boy laugh like a menace.

after donghyuck had calmed down, he continued struggling with maths and had to resist the urge to throw the book away.

until sooyun, his tutor in shining amor, came to the rescue.

"show me the problem, hyuck. i can help you out", the blonde girl offered kindly and sat down next to him, shoving the book closer to her.

"sooyun!", donghyuck's eyes lit up while a genuine smile was plastered on his face, "you're my savior!"

the blonde girl giggled at his call. "that's not true", she denied grinning, shaking her head.

before hyuck could respond and justify his statement, she shushed him by diving right into the maths problem and asking him about his struggles.

in the meanwhile, haewon thought of ways to solve her own problem.

she considered the option of throwing her maths book out of the window. the book was full of problems anyways and she was seated nearby the window — a truly tempting option.

however, she didn't do it as jieun randomly took a seat next to her. the younger one turned to glance at her, her pure and pretty eyes meeting haewon's.

seeing those eyes made her forget the idea of throwing the book away (for now at least) as she shifted her focus on her.

"hi haewon! mind if i sit here?", jieun greeted joyfully and tilted slightly her head at the question.

"that's no problem for me", haewon cracked a bright smile, feeling her heart skipping a beat.

"what brings you here to me?", she asked curiously and closed her maths book to dedicate her full attention to her and deal with the problem later.

"i just wanted to drop by and give you that as little study boost", the female junior explained and revealed the pink lolly she had held in her hand.

haewon's eyes sparkled as her heartbeat accelerated. "can she even get any cuter?!", she thought to herself, finding the younger girl extremely lovely.

"oh my god, jieun. you've just made my day", the senior beamed happily and took gratefully the lolly from her seatmate.

the girl with long, black hair smiled sheepishly in reply, feeling her heart melting due to the genuine joy of the older one. "you're welcome! i just thought you might need a boost."

"gosh, you're so adorable", haewon mentioned smiling and felt more motivated than before, "thank you so much, sweetheart."

jieun felt flustered at her compliment, cherishing her kind words. "it's not something big... i just gave you a lolly", she shrugged it off and let out soft chuckles.

"hey, it's a big deal for me", haewon commented and leaned back in her seat, glancing happily at her lolly, "even if it is just a little treat, it means a lot to me."

her gaze shifted back to the younger one, noticing the pink blush in her cheeks and internally kicking her feet because of that.

"you were thinking about me and that's sooo sweet", the female senior added smiling, removing the wrapper.

"and you know what?", haewon started as her smile turned into a cheeky grin, "i gotta admit that you're sweeter than the treat."

"but... you haven't even tried the lolly yet?", the junior pointed out as confusion was written on her face.

"i know and i don't need to do that to know it", the older girl responded confidentally and gave her a playful wink.

jieun's face was all flushed as she glanced at her in shock. she felt extremely flustered, overwhelmed but also flattered.

the female junior didn't know if haewon was just being friendly and kind and drop light-hearted pick-up lines like yejoon or if her words had more intention behind it.

"she's probably just really playful and friendly. yeah, that must be the case..."

surprisingly, the friend group managed to take studying seriously and not procastinate or do any sidequests. (it took them long enough tho.)

they were either studying in little groups or on their own, occassionally helping each other out if someone needed help or holding the other one accountable.

a frustrated sigh escaped jaemin's lips as he glanced at the equation he struggled to solve.

"need any help, jaem?", a soft voice sounded next to him, making the pink haired boy look up from his book to lock eyes with the chinese.

"would be much appreciated", jaemin gave him a little smile, shoving the book to renjun who sat down next to him.

"i struggle with number 127. i'm having troubles to find the right solution for the equation", the pink haired boy stated and pointed at it.

renjun nodded humming and stared at the problem in front of him, analysing it quietly.

jaemin seized the opportunity to glance sneakily at the older boy and admire him for the time being. "he's really pretty...", he thought to himself, surpressing his smile.

"oh! i think i know how to solve it. it's a bit tricky at first but once you get it, then it won't be that hard anymore", renjun announced and looked up from the book to face him.

luckily, jaemin was able to look away from him just in time, pretending that he didn't stare at him the whole time.

"oh, you do?", the pink haired boy asked and looked at him in curiousity.

"yeah, let me explain it to you", renjun answered and put the maths book in between them as he explained how to solve the equation.

jaemin listened attentively at first, however, he got quickly distracted by realising how close they were, how their knees touched and how their faces almost touched as well.

the pink haired boy tried to remain calm, however, his heart was acting up. his cheeks that were tinted as pink as his hair betrayed him and revealed his flustered side.

"boy, get a hold of yourself. focus on maths. focus on- wow, his cheeks are really cute. why do i want to squeeze them?"

jaemin attempted to shift back his focus on maths, however, as you can see in his inner monologue, he failed to do so.

"do you understand it now?", renjun asked softly and glanced at the pink haired boy who was caught off guard once they locked eyes with each other.

"uhm, not quite... can you explain it one more time? i need a bit to comprehend it", jaemin requested embarrassedly, forcing himself to focus now.

"sure thing", the two-toned haired boy responded and flashed him a little smile before explaining it over again.

neither did jaemin know that renjun was damn aware of him staring at him the whole time instead of the maths book.
