after sending this message, donghyuck couldn't help but smile all over his face. he couldn't explain why it made him smile like a fool.

nevertheless, the purple haired boy was looking forward to tomorrow. even though they would study maths – the most hatred subject which he disliked passionately – he was still excited to meet up.

perhaps he was so hyped over it because of the certain someone? it's obvious for everyone but he wouldn't confess it – not yet at least.

the next day all classes ended in a blink of eye. jaemin and jeno accompanied hyuck since they headed into the same direction as their purple haired friend.

"ready for your study date?", jaemin asked teasingly, nudging donghyuck with his elbow.

"it's not a study date", donghyuck denied and shook his head, however, the corners or his lips turned upwards at this comment.

"it obviously is", jeno mentioned grinning and crossed his arms in front of his chest, "but you are just too shy to admit it."

"fake news", the purple haired boy responded and showed his thumbs upside down to underline the absurdity of his statement.

they continued to chat a bit before their ways seperated. hyuck had to go to the lobby while jeno and jaemin headed to the lockers room.

they bid their goodbyes and the oldest and youngest of the trio teased the purple haired boy one more time before leaving him.

afterwards donghyuck entered the lobby and scanned the room to find his tutor. their eyes met when he spotted her sitting alone at a desk with two chairs.

a soft smile was plastered on her lips as she waved at him. he copied her movements and couldn't resist to smile.

the purple haired boy approached her happily and they greeted each other before he took a seat opposite to her.

excitement was written all over his face which made the girl wonder.

"i didn't expect you to be this excited over maths", she teased and let out chuckles.

"what? no, i'm not excited because of that annoying subject. i truly hate maths", hyuck clarified laughing, "i'm just excited to hang out with you, that's it."

sooyun flashed him a bright smile. "that's sweet of you. i can only return this", she replied and felt flattered.

"shall we start now?", the blondie inquired gently and changed the topic. "oh, yeah sure!", donghyuck answered and took his maths book out of his bag, placing them on the table.

after the purple haired boy showed her the topics he struggled with, they decided to solve together some problems in these areas.

sooyun showed him and explained precisely how to solve the problems and equations. while the girl was focused and serious about the tutoring, donghyuck seemed to drift away.

his focus and interest was on sooyun instead. he glanced at her mindlessly, watching her while studying her features instead of maths.

her cherry red, glamorous but soft lips. her brown, shiny eyes which he could get lost in. her long, blonde hair which make her even prettier than she already is.

"hey, are you even paying attention?", sooyun called out and tilted slightly her head. her eyes were glued on the boy who spaced off. hearing these words made him snap back to reality.

"uhhh... yeah!", donghyuck answered too quickly, earning a suspicious look of the girl he had just admired.

"then tell me the answer for this problem", she demanded with a raised eyebrow, watching him precisely.

"uhm...", the purple haired boy hesitated for a moment before guessing the answer in hopes that he may be right, "127?"

sooyun sighed and shook her head. "no, not even a close one."

"sorry... i wasn't really listening", hyuck admitted quietly and felt surely embarrassed, his eyes were on the book as he didn't dare to look her into the eyes.

sooyun let out soft chuckles before shaking her head once again. "little dummy", she mentioned teasingly with giggles, causing hyuck to be upset but flustered.

"i'm not a dummy!!", he defended himself and crossed his arms in front of his chest, feeling offended.

"the answer was -55 but you said 127."

"...oh."

hyuck's cheeks turned red as he looked away to avoid eye contact with her. embarrassment was written on his face.

"it's okay if you don't have it correct now", sooyun giggled and gave him a reassuring smile. "we're just continuing to practice. that's why i'm here — to help you with maths problems."

the purple haired boy glanced at her and couldn't help but smile like a fool. he cherished her help and was grateful that she took her time for him.

"thank you so much, sooyun."

"that's no problem", she mirrored his smile and tilted her head. "but pay attention this time, alright?"

"... yes, ma'am."
