the bell rang, signalising that classes had ended. donghyuck left his classroom and headed towards the theatre hall. his excitement grew with every minute passing as he couldn't wait to welcome sooyun as a new member of the club.

he was truly fond that some people wanted to join the club in such a short time. the purple haired boy was grateful for that as he was scared that the club had to disband due to lack of members.

"hey princess", someone said behind him, making donghyuck turn around to face the person who called him. he scoffed hearing this nickname by his friend as he shook his head in disappointment.

"stop calling me like that, jen", the purple haired boy laughed, giving his friend a smack on his upper arm. "in your dreams", jeno responded with a smirk.

"anyways, are you excited for today?", the boy with blond hair changed the topic, glancing at him. "hell yeah!", hyuck exclaimed exhilarated and smiled brightly.

"it's actually unbelievable that we've found so many people who want to join us in such a short time, i'm still overwhelmed by this fact", he added, his friend related to this statement.

"same same.... by stayc."

"it's the tenth time that you used this stayc reference, jeno."

"and i can't stop me, can't stop me."

"AGAIN A GIRLGROUP REFERENCE."

when they arrived at the theatre hall, they were welcomed by their fellow members who claimed the seats on the couch and snacked some candies jaemin had bought.

"is sooyun already here?", hyuck asked curiously while stealing a chocolate bar from jaemin and sitting down on a bean bag. "nope, we haven't seen her yet", jisung answered and swallowed a bonbon.

"i mean, it's still early. she'll probably come soon", jeno commented and took a seat on a bean bag, taking a lollipop from the candies of jaemin. "yeah, you're right", the purple haired boy agreed with an optimistic smile.

while they were waiting for sooyun to arrive, they were chatting with each other and had conversations about random topics.

several minutes passed by and when mrs. cha arrived late at the theatre hall, the girl still hasn't showed up.

"where is the newbie?", the woman inquired confusedly, her eyebrow arched when she had only seen the five boys being in the backstage room of the theatre hall.

everyone shrugged their shoulders, they had no idea nor information about her whereabouts.

"hmm, okay... maybe she's just coming late", mrs. cha responded. "text her in case she forgot about the meeting", she added. "on it", hyuck answered before taking his phone out of his pocket, unlocking it and going on the chat with sooyun.

"and? did she answer? has she seen the messages?", chenle questioned while eating a piece of a chocolate bar.

"no, my messages are only delivered", hyuck sighed as he closed his phone. "what's taking her so long?"

minutes turned into hours and donghyuck waited and waited, wondering when or if she'll ever come. besides, there were no messages and updates from her as well.

"bro, we need to go home now. it's time", jaemin tapped his friend by his shoulder. "huh?", hyuck spaced out which was why he was so confused at first. a glance at the watch hanging above the door revealed what time it was. "oh right", he replied slightly disappointed as he stood up from the bean bag.

the others had noticed his different behaviour and tried to distract him by trying to involve him in fun activities or talk about interesting topics he liked in the past few hours.

however, it didn't work well and hyuck was rather absent today - which was pretty rare to happen.

it was weird that sooyun hadn't answered him nor showed up today. she could've told him that she wouldn't come today at least.

hyuck couldn't help but feel worried and frustrated. his excitement faded by the time he was waiting for her, being slowly replaced by sadness and disappointment.
