Chapter 22

~A/N~

I got carried away again, and I really hope you like it! :)

*******

Lorena's POV

"You hate Bastille?" I said loudly, grabbing the bear next to me so I could hit him. "You fucking hate Bastille?!"

"Hey! What the fuck?!" Louis cried out as I accidentally scratched his arm. Oops! He deserved it though; he just told me he hates Bastille!

"You decide to hate a band, and it has to be my favourite one?" Saying that made me even more pissed off, and I started hitting him harder, although the large stuffed animal didn't really do him much damage.

"I'm sorry!" He shouted after a few seconds, grabbed the bear so I'd stop hitting him and looked at me. "Caitlyn told me about you liking them a lot, and now that we were being honest and everything, I thought I'd tell you about it." He gave me an apologetic smile but I wasn't falling for it. He hates my favourite fucking band, what kind of a future boyfriend was he?!

"I hate you so much right now!" I hit him once again as I noticed his grip on the bear loosen, which took him by surprise, but he only rolled his eyes.

"Look, if it means so much to you..." He looked like he had a hard time choking out the next few words out. "... I'll try to give them a chance."

Louis' POV

"Oh, you better." Lorena warned as she nodded, and I smiled, not because she wasn't angry or hitting me or anything, but because she believed me. She actually believed me. And I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or cry because of what I'd told her; "I... I really hate Bastille."

I really hate Bastille. That is officially the worst lie I'd ever told, but I felt like a thousand pounds were lifted off of my chest when I realized she actually bought it. I was still feeling kind of uneasy because I didn't tell her what I'd actually wanted to tell her, but oh well. The only bad thing is that I actually loved Bastille, and now I wouldn't be able to listen to them with her around. On the other hand, I found out she has good taste in music.

"And I'm sorry about your parents," I said as I sat closer to Lorena, and took her hand again. I felt the need to change the subject before I say something stupid.

Lorena surprised me as she just shrugged. "It's not that big of a deal, actually... All in all, they're good parents, they took good care of me when I was little. I just..." She sighed. "I can't believe they were willing to give me up so easily. I could never do that to my child."

Instantly, pictures of Lorena playing with little kids invaded my mind, and my heart kind of fluttered a bit at the thought of her as a mother. At the thought of her feeding a baby, combing a little girl's hair, pushing a little boy on a swing...

"Louis?" She snapped her fingers in front of my face a couple of times, and I shook my head to get rid of the pictures.

"Huh?" Was the only noise I made, still a little caught up in my thoughts.

"Why are you smiling at me like that?" She asked through a smirk, and I realized I'd been staring at her, smiling like a weirdo, and that she had caught me.

"Um..." I stuttered. Oh, nothing, I was just thinking of you as a mother, and picturing you with kids. Did I mention I was also in the background? Yeah, no big deal.

"You're not on their side, are you?" Lorena asked, and I had to blink in confusion, before realizing she'd asked me if I'm on her parents' side. And if she was expecting me to start frantically shaking my head and stuttering, "No! Of course not!" she must have been disappointed, as I just raised my eyebrows at her.

"Seriously? Did you just seriously ask me that?" I said and she laughed at my reaction. "Alright, don't get sassy with me." She stuck her tongue out and it was my turn to laugh. She was so adorable when she acted child-like.

"Hey," Lorena held the word out as she pulled her tongue back into her mouth. "Um, you know when you asked me if I had any other questions, and I said I'd think of something?" She asked, her voice hesitant, and I slowly nodded. She bit her lip and I knew it wasn't going to be something good.

"Can I still do it?" She smiled pleadingly, and even if I wanted to, I couldn't say no to that face. So I just smiled at her, "Sure, love."

Lorena grinned, thought she just started playing with the duvet. I looked down at where her tiny hands were doing something weird with the quilt, and just as I was about to ask her if anything was wrong, she spoke.

"You know... You know when you said you'd never name your son Max?" I instantly thought of Lorena's birthday and Max, and sure enough, I remembered saying I'd never give that name to my son. It was actually quite funny, now that I think about it.

I only nodded, and Lorena looked down again. Was she going to tell me something about the guy? Was she in contact with him? Did he ask her out as well, or did something else? I swear, if it's something of the above, I will track that guy down and-

"Were you serious about it?" Lorena asked as she looked up at me and I raised my eyebrows, a little lost in my thoughts, well, actually, lost enough to forget what we were talking about.

"What, about naming my son Max?" I said in kind of a high pitched tone, and she nodded as she chuckled. I sat up and shrugged after thinking about it for a second. "I guess," I said. "I never really liked that name, and... The guy from your birthday just helped me realize that I don't want to name my son Max."

"So you want to have kids?" Lorena asked quickly, and I had to bite back a smile. Using reverse psychology on me, huh? Successfully, if I may add.

"Um, yeah, I think. One, not more than two. All boys, if possible," I said, kind of awkwardly. I didn't think I'd be discussing kids with Lorena, not anytime soon anyway.

She smiled, seeming satisfied with my answer. "How would you name them?"

I looked around the room, thinking about an answer. How would I name my kids? Well, that was something I didn't think I'd be thinking about for another few years.

"Um, I don't know, I've never thought about it. I mean," I added as Lorena went to say something, and ended up glaring at me. "I like the name Tommy, but with my last name, Tommy wouldn't have many friends at school."

She laughed at my answer, and grabbed the bear next to her. For a second I thought she'd start hitting me again, but she just put it in her lap.

"You can name him Tommy," Lorena said with a childish grin, and while I wanted to roll my eyes at her, I felt like I'd ruin her obvious plan of embarrassing me that way.

"Hi Tommy." I played along and shook the bear's paw, and the girl next to me laughed. God, the things I'd do to make her happy. I was whipped. Absolutely and utterly whipped.

"Your friends would die to see this," She said through a laugh, and I chuckled at the thought of the guys seeing me like this. I was pretty sure they'd give actual money if they had to, just so they could watch. "I don't doubt it," I said, nodding, and Lorena copied me. There was a silence for a few seconds, before I asked her the question that had been playing on my lips for a couple of minutes now. "Do you want kids?"

To my surprise, she furrowed her eyebrows and shook her head a few quick times. "Not really. I feel like I have to have at least one, though." She chuckled and I tried forcing a smile back, but I couldn't seem to do it. For the first time in my life. The fact that she didn't want kids was making me feel... Weird, to say the least.

"Really? Why?" I asked, trying to make my tone as casual as possible, as if her statement from a second ago didn't affect me at all.

Lorena sighed. "I don't know... I don't really like kids, nor do they like me. And with a mother like mine, I don't think my maternal instincts will be any good."

"But you said your parents are actually good with you," I said slowly, and she nodded uneasily.

"Well, yeah, but how could they not? Valerie dropped out of secondary school, and Vivienne got pregnant at 17. I'm basically the golden child," She said and I couldn't help but laugh at that statement.

"It's obvious they would have regretted giving you up, eh?" I said through a smile, but Lorena just stared at me before looking down. Okay, maybe I shouldn't joke about that now. Or ever.

"I really hope they would," Lorena said after a couple of seconds of silence, probably wanting it to sound as a joke, but her face gave off a different impression; her smile disappeared and she frowned, looking like she was about to start crying again. Oh no, please no, I won't know what to say the next time.

"Hey, hey, hey," I said quietly and shifted a little closer to her, cupping her cheek. She closed her eyes and tilted her head, so she was leaning on my palm. She squeezed her eyes shut for a second before opening them, and sure enough, they were redder and shinier than they should have been. Great.

"I'm sorry for mentioning it," I said. "I'm sorry," I apologized again and this time she looked at me.

"I don't want you to leave," She said, out of the blue, and I raised my eyebrows in surprise.

"L-Leave?" I stuttered after a few seconds, her words slowly sinking into my brain. Lorena just nodded and looked down at her lap again.

"Yeah," She said quietly. "You'll probably have to go soon, but I don't want to be here alone. Not like this."

I leaned my head to the side, realizing what she meant. "I won't leave, babe. Not until you can leave this place." I gave her a reassuring smile and she just nodded, but I noticed she was trying to hide one as well.

"Won't you get tired? Or hungry?" She looked up at me, her eyebrows raised, and I shook my head with a smile. Pretty much only because that's obviously what she wanted me to do; on the other hand, I was starving and slept for only two and a half hours.

Lorena nodded and moved a little to the right, taking the large stuffed animal in her lap.

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked through a laugh as she disappeared behind the teddy bear. She proceeded to move it a little bit closer to her feet so she could look at me.

"I'm not falling for your bullshit. Come here and rest a little," She said with a smile as she patted the empty spot in her bed that she'd just created, and it took my tired brain a second to realize she was inviting me to lie down with her. And that she notices more than I thought she did.

I slowly lied down, but before I got my legs up on the bed, a thought crossed my mind. "Wait, what if a nurse comes in?" I said as I propped up on my elbows, only to have Lorena pull me down next to her.

"Then we tell her I'm scared of sleeping alone." I laughed at her apparent reason and pulled my legs up, and Lorena threw the duvet over me as well. God, I didn't even realize how tired I was until I was in a lying position. I'd even settle down for a hospital bed.

"Feels good?" She asked as she laid down on my chest, and I instantly pulled her closer to me, kissing the top of her head.

"Mhm," I mumbled against her hair, and couldn't help but close my eyes for a minute. Now that I knew I didn't poison her the previous evening, I could finally shut my brain down and take a nap.

"I like Charlie." But Lorena, apparently, wasn't going to allow me that.

"What?" I asked, genuinely confused, and tried to find her eyes somehow.

"I like the name Charlie." She looked up at me with a slight smile on her face. "If I had a child, I'd like a boy. I babysat a 5 year old girl once, and she made me realize I'd do everything not to have a daughter," She explained with horror in her widened eyes, and I couldn't hold back a laugh. So neither of us wanted a daughter... That's a plus I guess?

"So if I ever do have a kid, and it's a boy, I'd like to name him Charlie. Not Charles, or anything. Just Charlie." She smiled and I smiled back down at her.

"That's cute," I said. "And... I've only got one question."

"What's that?" Lorena raised her eyebrows at me.

"Is it... Is it because of, I don't know, Charlie Sheen, or someone else?" I asked uneasily, while she just laughed at my question. "Is he one of the men you'd have a crush on if you were 10 to 20 years older?" I could never forget that time when she was at my dorm, telling me about the old people she's attracted to.

"No, silly," Lorena said through a grin. "It's actually because... Nevermind."

"Hey." I looked down at her, as she was once again avoiding my eyes. "Tell me."

Lorena shook her head, although my curiosity was over the roof now. I had about 500 questions going through my head; is it because of a friend of hers? A pet? A sibling, her father maybe? Another guy perhaps?

That last one made me a little bit anxious. "Tell me!" I said, a bit whiney, though she only kept shaking her head. I sighed, though as I remembered the one way I could get her to tell me anything, a smirk appeared on my face.

"Are you sure you don't want to tell me?" I asked quietly, and Lorena looked up at me, an unsure look on her face. She nodded, though her actions were hesitant as well. She knew I was up to something.

I shrugged. "Alright. You asked for it."

In a blink of an eye, Lorena was trapped underneath me, almost screaming as I started tickling her. Her head was thrown back as she blindly tried to push me away with her tiny hands. Aw, she was almost too funny to be cute.

"Tell me!" I exclaimed, trying to be louder than her as she protested. At first she shook her head, but when I dug my fingers harder into her sides, she jumped up a little, as if she was being defibrillated, and let out another laugh-like scream.

"Alright, alright! Please, for the love of God, stop it!" She shouted and I stopped immediately, and carefully lied my body down so I was still above her, but not crushing her. I waited for a couple of seconds for her to catch her breath as I caught mine, and a minute later she looked me in the eyes.

"You really want to know?" I nodded with a grin on my face, and Lorena sighed.

"Okay. It's because... It's because of Charlie Brown," She muttered, a little embarrassed obviously. For a second I just watched her, before bursting into laughter.

"You see why I didn't want to tell you?" Lorena shouted over the sound of my laugh, as I tried to keep myself on my elbows and not collapse on top of her.

"Charlie Brown?" I questioned, laughing even harder as the words left my mouth. "Charlie fucking Brown?!"

"Hey!" Lorena punched me, and being in the state that I was, it actually hurt a little. "Stop peeing on everything I love!"

I looked up at her, frowning, a smile still lingering on my lips. I was peeing on everything she loves? Must be because of what I said about Bastille... "Alright, sorry, love," I said and grinned at her apologetically, and it was obvious she was biting back a smile just so she would still seem angry at me.

"I'm sorry! But seriously, Charlie Brown?" I said as I shook my head in disbelief.

"Have you ever even watched Peanuts?" She asked, as if what we were talking about was a serious issue to her.

"Yes, I have," I said defensively. "That's why I'm asking."

Lorena sighed, and started fidgeting her hands again. Which was quite hard for her to do, since I was practically lying on her. "I just love that show," She said, almost looking like she was pissed off. "And the name Charlie is nice, you think so too."

I nodded and smiled; she was cute when she wanted me to think she was annoyed. "Well, you know what they say," I started, trying to hold back a laugh. "Speak softly and carry a beagle."

"Fuck you!" Lorena shouted and tried shoving me off of her as I laughed. Although I stopped when I heard some rustling beneath me. When I looked down I couldn't help the frown that appeared on my face.

"What the hell are you wearing?" I asked, standing up on my knees so I could have a better look at Lorena. She blushed before curving her body a little, obviously uncomfortable.

"Um..." She started, rubbing the back of her neck. "They-They took my clothes off when we got here... I'm pretty sure I'm butt naked under this."

She was wearing a blue hospital gown, made of plastic or something apparently, though I forgot everything about it and gulped at her last few words. I nodded curtly at the statement and rolled off of her before I did something stupid, and pulled the duvet over us. Lorena instinctively rolled over so she was lying on my chest, and yawned as she did.

"Tired?" I asked, feeling that way as well.

"Yeah, tired..." She trailed off. There was a minute long silence, during which I thought she'd fallen asleep, but then she spoke again, this time her voice giving off the impression that she was slowly drifting off to sleep. "Let's take a nap."

I smiled at her suggestion. "That's the smartest idea you've had all day."

Zach's POV

"Where the hell were you?" I asked as Louis walked into our dorm, looking as if he'd just either walked out of a club or woken up.

"I was with Lorena," He muttered, walking to his bed and taking off his jacket.

"The entire day? Is she okay?" I asked. I still couldn't believe he almost killed her on their first date. It sounds funny when I think of it like that.

"Uh, yeah, she's good. I brought her back to her dorm," Louis said, not looking at me once.

"Good, good. Did you at least tell her?" I asked, and he snapped his head up at me, looking almost nervous. "Tell her, tell her what?" He retorted urgently.

"You know," I said, making weird gestures with my arms. "About the bet," I said bluntly, lacking better words.

"Oh," Louis said as he stood up straight. "Nah, why would I do that? Wouldn't that ruin everything?" He said uneasily with a nervous smile, before quickly walking to the bathroom when he noticed me opening my mouth.

I huffed as I heard the door close, and stood up to get myself another beer, thinking about the whole thing with Lorena. Poor, poor Lorena.

I was quite surprised when Louis thought I was speaking the truth about not telling her about the dare; he always bragged about how he could tell whenever someone was acting, or lying. And somehow, he couldn't tell I was lying when I said I'd stop meddling. I was nowhere even near that! I just had to pick the right time and place, and drop the bomb. Soon.

*******

~A/N~

And....you will never find out what Louis actually wanted to tell her ☺
In other news, Zach still wants to tell Lorena about the dare! What do you think about that? Please comment and vote and I will love you forever :D xx
