BRIAN

-----LATER THAT NIGHT-----
"The kingdom absolutely loves him! We should take him on a stroll around the place soon." My wife was eager to have time with Drake. But she needed to rest.

"Darling, you need to rest. It's been a long day for us. Let's wait a little bit before we start showing Drake around the village. Is that alright?" She looked at me, then back at Drake, who was sleeping in her arms.

She sighed. "You're right..." She put him in his cradle, and we both went to our beds, and slept.
-----HOURS LATER-----
The door creaked. Wind was blowing in, from an open window. It was quiet. There was nothing to be heard. Suddenly, if you were awake, you could hear footsteps. Walking through the bedroom door.

Step... By step... Getting closer to Drakes cradle. The person hovered over Drakes cradle. "Yes.." They whispered.

They reached down for Drake, and then, picked him up. Drake awoke.
He started to scream, and cry. He didn't recognize the hands holding him over their shoulder.

I woke, as my wife did. We went to Drakes cradle, and looked at him. He was lying in it. My wife picked him up. "Shh... Don't worry, Drake. Mamas here..." He slowed his screaming, and crying down, going into complete silence.

"Well, well. Isn't it the two lucky parents," We looked behind us, to see a tall boy, in the rooms corner, being hidden by a dark shadow. "I bet it's great to have a boy like that, loved by the entire kingdom."

I had no idea who he was. Then it hit me. I recognized that voice...
"B...Brian..?" I said the name slowly, not wanting to say it at all.
"Oh, so you remember me. I have a feeling since you remember me, you also remember what you did..."

My wife was holding Drake tightly, making sure nothing could happen to him. "Brian, it was an accident. We never meant to hurt you, or anyone else."

Brian looked at us, with bright, glowing, eyes. "Oh, so getting that pendant was an accident? Ha, what a funny story." He sounded angry. Very, angry.

"Brian, we needed the pendant. For our people! We wanted to help everyone... Including you..." Brian stepped a little closer, out of the shadows that were hiding his face. Forcing my wife to back up.

"I told you about the pendant. A long time ago, it was. I told you how it affected my family.. And me."
"Brian, we didn't know it was that particular pendant... We're dearly sorry."

"Sorry... Sorry for what? Sorry for making my family sick..? Sorry for ruining my life..? Sorry for killing me!? I told you how it would effect my family, because of what my stupid grandfather did..."
I paused. Feeling sorrow. Feeling guilty.

"Brian, you also said you never wanted to become the monster your grandfather was. A heartless monster who hated everyone. And now look at you.. thats exactly who you are, now!"

He didn't speak. We stood in silence for about two minutes. I could tell by Brian's face, he was thinking.

Drake was sound asleep. Breathing softly, and sucking his thumb.

"You're going to pay for this," He stares right at me. "I'm going to get my revenge... No matter what it takes..." He left with a cloud of smoke..

"We have to protect him..."
"What?" My wife just said something I didn't understand.. Until she spoke once again... "Drake. We need to keep him safe. From Brian..."

"But, how?" I ask. "We have to give him up to someone we trust..."
She let out tears. I wanted to disagree with her... But, she was correct. He needed protection. "We'll start looking in the morning.."

She nodded, and slept with Drake in her arms, as I stood looking off a balcony. Oh, Brian... If only you could understand... After a few moments,
I assign a guard to guard our bedroom door, and I head to bed.
