When I came to we were in a room. There was a woman putting the jelly on my stomach. I looked around confused. She rubbed the sonogram over my stomach. The screen suddenly came on showing the baby.
"Oh my this looks a lot further along then a couple of weeks and the baby doesn't look human." She said, I noticed her looking acrossed me a lot smiling brightly. When I realized she was smiling at David. Who was smiling back. He never smiled at me like that. That's when I realized he's never told me he loved me he only thought about the baby. Then that's when I remembered the deal we made when we became scientists we were never allowed to tell each other we loved each other. I sat up right as she was checking the babies health.
She stepped back when I got up. For some odd reason it was like I couldn't feel anything it was like I was numb.I just walked out I walked down the hall to the stairs. I was so naive I can't believe I didn't realize it. I was in my own little fairytale when harsh reality hit me. Nothings ever that simple. I walking down the stairs. The main lobby when I realized cheeks were soaked with tears.
"What happened are you okay?" A woman asked. When I realized it was Jane's voice.
"Reality's what happened. It's always so harsh." I said, looking back. I opened the door and left. I walked over to where my box of samples, serums, and syringes were. I took off the choker and picked up the box and some other supplies. I ran into the woods. I gave myself injections. I found a dog wondering around it was a mangy thing. Almost no fur, and skin and bones. It even had teeth missing. But when it looked at me I realized it was a wolf. I reached out my hand. It growled at first till it sniffed the air realizing I wasn't a threat. Then it slowly walked over. Till it head touched my hand. When I injected something into its neck. It fell to the ground.

"Sorry sweetie but you got to learn not to be so trusting. I had to learn the hard way. Love is only a figment of the mind." I said petting it. As it's fur grew back thick and soft. It's fur was red and white. It teeth grew back white and sharp. It's eyes turned bright gold and where it was once all skin and bones. Is now full of fat and muscle. Now it looked perfectly healthy. It got up and licked me. It nuzzled up against me and laid its head on my lap. I petted her head. Then she licked the tears from my cheeks. I chuckled and she wagged her tail. My stomach growled. I got up.
"Come on I'm famished." I said, tying a rope around her neck.
"I'm naming you Sapphire. How's that sound?" I asked, she wagged her tail. I picked up the box and walked back. When Sarah stopped.
"Are you alright you just took off?" She asked I smiled and nodded.
She squealed when she seen Sapphire.
"Relax I found her in the woods I just fixed her up I want to take her with me if that's okay." I exclaimed.
"Ya sure but what is it?" She asked.
"Your kidding right it's a wolf." I replied.
"I've never seen one." She shrugged.
"Their the oldest breed of canine their very loyal." I said, petting her. She nodded. She showed me where the new apartment was, it was really high had a nice view and had a nice little balcony. It was really big but the furnishings were beautiful. There was even a spare room for the baby. She gave me the key and left. Mark and Davids apartments were in different buildings completely while mine was at the edge of the city. Apparently their more important than me. I walked in. I stepped out onto the balcony. When I seen my neighbor. He was a young man around my age but a bit older he was rather hadsome. He was tall muscular he was built like a soldier. He had dark black hair and green eyes. I turned away when he looked over. He smiled when he realized I was watching him.
"You expecting?" He asked.
"Ya it's a little girl." I conformed.
"So where's the father?" He asked.
"It's complicated." I replied.
"I see so you just move here?" He questioned curiously.
"Ya I was brought in this morning." I answered.
"I don't think a young expecting mother should live alone. They might say this place is safe but that's only cause all the crimes covered up. By the way I'm Bain. I'm a marine. Special task force." He smiled.
"Hi I'm Clair. I'm a scientist in bio weaponry." I said, petting Sapphire.
"I see. Wow where'd you get a wolf?" He asked.
"Found her in the woods, decided to bring her home." I said taking the rope off her neck.
"You mind if I bring something over?" He asked.
"Ya sure." I said, when he went in moments later I heard a knock at the door but when I opened it. It wasn't him but David.
"How'd you find me?" I asked.
"Your carrying my child I always know where you are." He replied, handing me a card.
"What's this?" I asked.
"It's my number keep me updated on the baby." He said, sternly.
"Do you even care?" I asked, chocking back my tears.
"It's just business we need to keep this strictly professional." He said, I bit my lip.
"We're humans not robots. None of this was ever business to me maybe to you but not to me. I cared about you A LOT might as well even call it love and you threw it back in my face. So you'll be lucky if I even let you see her. Goodbye David." I said, slamming the door in his face as tears ran down my face. I walked out onto my balcony and screamed as loud as I could. Then I walked inside sat in the corner beside my bed and cried. I put my hand on my stomach. When someone walked in.
