I got this idea from a dream so please bare with me this is going to epic. Warning adult content. Read at your own risk. Please remember this is the first book I published and I know there's a lot of flaws but please bare with me. But I didn't realize how bad untill after I read it. I honestly was so embarrassed at the time it took me two years to actually get the courage to even publish it. And by the time I realized my mistake. I couldn't fix it without scrapping the whole thing. But as my father always told me. Don't dwell on your mistakes learn from them. And his famous short version. (You Live And You learn.) In a world on the edge of destruction and all life has almost perished. Where war and famine corrupt the last of the human race. The world was practically a waste land. No plants grew and the only shelter they had were the collapsing buildings around them. A group of scientists are the only ones who can stop it. They have to create a biological weapon. There were only three of them. The main scientist Clair and her two assistants, Mark, and David. David was madly in love with Clair. She loved him to but she wasn't aloud to tell him because of her work. So she never told him how she really felt. Clair was a beautiful blond haired blue eyed beauty. David adored her and all she was. But Clair feared the day he'd find out the truth about her. Mark envied them and their love for each other. They even slept together just never could say they loved each other. Mark and David were like brothers. All three of them grew up together.

I was working late in the lab on genic mutations with reptiles when I accidentally cut my hand on the glass.

"Fuck it." I said pulling out a syringe. Sticking the needle in a bottle, I quickly filled it and injected myself. I grabbed a white lizard I've already experimented on, in which we mutated it with a bird so that it covered in feathers. Stroking its feathers gently I whispered.

"Sorry little guy but I rather it be me than someone else." He lifts his head, looking at me as if he understands. I kissed him on the head and walked into the machine turning it on and closed my eyes. The machine can fuse more than one genetics making them into one whole new creature. I fell when I felt a sharp pain in my stomach.

When the machine was done the lizard was gone because it was mutated with me. I pushed the door open and crawled out; grabbing another syringe full of serum I gave myself another injection. I grabbed a choker, well it wasn't really a choker, it was actually a collar I made so I can keep my test subjects under control by restraining them.

Once the pain went away I got up and blood ran down my leg; I grabbed a pregnancy test and ran into the bathroom to use it. I froze when it showed positive, no human has been able to reproduce since I was a child. My mother died giving birth and my father was a general. Tears ran down my face when I realized what this meant, but I was full of excitement and anxiety at the same time. I wiped my face.

"My little miracle. That's what I'll name you when your born." I said, rubbing my stomach. Then I started making my own pregnancy supplements since I knew my child wouldn't be completely human because I've been experimenting on myself for years. No one knew about it. I stayed up all night making experimenting to make it healthier for the baby. I tested all the serums on my experiments. When I finally made a break through some of them mutated. One lizard grew into an dragon a being said to be mythical. He was beautiful with light blue skin, like a Chinese water dragon from fairytales. But he was still very small. I picked him up he nuzzled against me I injected myself with same serum I used on him. When David and Mark walked in. I hid the syringe and pulled my sleeve down.

"Hey Clair did you stay all night?" David asked, I nodded.

"I made a break through." I said excitingly lifting the dragon up for them to see. They froze when they seen it.

"Is that what I think it is?" David asked.

"Its a dragon. If I fuse it with a bigger creature I might be able to make a bigger one." I said, when he climbed up to my neck and wrapped around nuzzling against my face.

"Absolutely not because I know your going to try it on yourself." He replied angrily. Picking him up when he noticed what was in my pocket he pulled the test out and froze when he seen it was positive.

"Is that what I think it is?" Mark asked, looking over his shoulder.

"Why didn't tell me?" He demanded.

"You know I'll become a target. Everyone will be targeting me for assassination. No ones been able to reproduce in over 15 years." I said, squeezing my arm. I flinched when he hugged me.

"You know I would never let that happen." He laid me on the table and strapped me down. I struggled when Mark came in and helped him. Then David whipped the blood off my legs and ripped my shirt open exposing my stomach.

"Can you grabbed the old sonogram machines?" He asked, Mark rolled the machine over to us and handed David a jell and he rubbed it on my stomach. Then he pugged the machine and handed David the sonogram part to him. He rubbed it on my stomach. When a picture showed up.

"Wow it's a lot bigger then I expected." Mark exclaimed. I looked at the screen. I seen it moving around. I could see it was fully form just really small. When I noticed it didn't look completely human it looked like a dragon. David froze.

"Why does it look like that is it okay?" He questioned.

"My guess is that she experimented on herself and it probably effected the baby because it looks like a dragon. But it looks like it's a girl." He said. I watched her move around. I made this weird growling noise she stopped moving when she heard me. Then David dashed out of the room with Mark hot on his tail. He had the small dragon in his hand. When I seen Mark picked up a serphant. Then I seen David pick up to of the syringes I had with the serum I used to make the dragon.

"David no." I yelled. When he shut the door. I started struggling and yelling. Everything went quiet till I heard a roar. I shuddered when I heard it. When the door flew open and a huge light blue water dragon that looked exactly like the small one. I squeezed my eyes shut when it came in. It sniffed me when a giant black serphant with huge spikes all along its back and sharp scales slithered in. I squeezed my eyes even tighter. When I felt someone caress my cheek. I looked up to see David standing beside me and Mark was standing at the bottom of the table.

"Sorry if we scared you." David said, kissing my forehead and Mark walked over to the closet and grabbed some clothes. They put them on and unstrapped me. When David picked me up he carried me to bathroom and put me in the bathtub. He turned on the water. He filled up the tub and cleaned me off.

"Why'd you do it?" I asked.

"Because I don't want the mother of my child to bare all the burden alone. Plus I want to be able to protect you both. It was my choice." He said, kissing me. He washed my hair and rinsed it. Then he picked me up.

"I'm pregnant not broken I can still walk." I said, when he put me down.

"I know I just chose not to let you." He snickered drying me off and dressing me.
