Another Contest Entry

Okay, so this is for the on going ZeraTheThunderwing 's contest, for round 2. I also included a short story that kinda describes the picture, because I was bored. Anyways, the goal of this part of the contest was to draw your favorite OC doing their favorite activity. So of course I chose my little bean Brimstone, as he chases butterflies, and picks flowers, in the peaceful gardens in the Mantis Hive (while.... get this.... being alone! Because he is defiantly an introvert). Also I added the proof.

Brimstone peered at his target with narrowed eyes. He delicately stalked through the grass, listening for the tale-tell signs of a coming breeze. The air was silent. Maybe what some would call too silent, but for Brimstone, it was peaceful.

He had escaped from the judgy eyes of society, if only for a minute. The gardens in the Mantis Hive were one of the most beautiful gardens in all the hives. It opened into the fresh air and overlooked the Savannah. He rued the time it came for him to exit the perfect garden and re-enter the world.

It wasn't that he hated being with other dragons, it's just that when he was with them, he felt overwhelmed. Even at the dinner table with his parents, he could sense them silently judging him. How they rolled their eyes every time he jumped at the slightest sounds. What they didn't know was that his strange behavior was their fault.

Brimstone shook his head with annoyance at his constant thoughts and worrying, and sighed when his prey took flight at the sudden movement. But he would not give up. He bounded after it, and gracefully leaped into the air. When he landed, he was stunned as his prey seemed to duplicate endlessly. It's fellow butterflies darted from the long grass, and playfully fluttered around him. Brimstone skipped after the elegant creatures, careful not to crush the exquisite flower he had found earlier, in his jaw. He planned to give it as a gift to Copper, his best friend, but also his crush.

Tired out, Brimstone laid down in the winds-swept grassy field. The butterflies continued to fly around him. He stayed as still as a statue, as a beautiful and extremely small butterfly gilded closer to his head. It hovered right above his snout until it decided that he was a great place to land on. It folded its wings together, and an immediate calm swept over him. What did it matter about his worries and fears? He was safe for now. He stared at the butterfly and admired its angelic wings. He was simply enjoying the moments before the war and bloodshed broke out.
