Meeting a wizard and a trickster

I woke up the next morning to people talking in the kitchen. I got up and stretched, opening my closet. Hm. I don't really feel like wearing one of my current dresses, I wonder if I can...

I stood in front of the mirror, and tapped into the magicka around me, visualizing the clothing I wanted to wear. A smocked knee-length dress in dark blue with a silver woven belt and black leggings. I closed my eyes, waving my hand.

When I opened them again, lo and behold the same outfit was on me, also with silver sandals. I like this spell, it means no more changing clothing manually before missions or in the middle if I need to; I can just cast a spell and go.

I walk out, plugging in my earbuds and blasting music as I went to the fridge in search of leftover pancakes. I didn't dare sing along to the lyrics, after all, I haven't even hummed since childhood unless I was on my own, far away from people. I nearly dropped my plate when I saw who Tony was talking to.

It was the older man from before, except this time in an odd outfit and a cloak. Wait, was that cloak moving on it's own? Just then, Peter and Star come walking in, Star more awake than anyone should be at this ungodly hour. Oh wait, it's just eight in the morning, I thought it was six.

I walk over to them silently, setting my plate down on a coffee table, and pick up a notebook and pencil.

Let's see how long it takes before they notice us, I write down, showing them and then FRIDAY's nearest camera.

It takes a while, and two smirking Nats-in-passing, before they look down and see us all chilling with food at the table.

"How long were you three there?" Tony asks.

Peter smiled innocently, "No idea Mr. S-Tony. FRIDAY?"

"Thirty seven minutes and thirteen seconds."

Star hummed, "We've lost our touch moon."

I nodded, "Indeed we have Star. But no worries, we can get it back with lots of practice."

Tony paled, "Remind me to never let you two hang out with Nat."

Star grinned cheekily, "Not a chance Tony, sorry."

He sighed, and Dr.Strange spoke up, "Tony, why are there three children in your tower?" He pointed at Peter, "That one looks enough like you I might believe he's your son," Peter nearly choked on orange juice, "But these two look nothing like you."

He narrowed his eyes, then widened them again with a look of recognition, "Actually. Remember when I mentioned someone wandering to the sanctum?" He asked, "That was her." He gestures at me.

"So?" Tony raised a brow, "I adopted three kids with Pep. Also," he said, addressing the second part, "So what if she wandered near the little hide out of yours? It's a big building with a big glass window. Any newcomers to the city would of course be interested."

The 'Wizard' shook his head, "But that's the thing Tony, I've cast shields on it, only people with the ability to learn magic would find any interest in it." He turned to me, "So would you like to learn magic? It's a careful art, not many can. Who knows, maybe you could become a Sorcerer Supreme one day."

I stood up, asking him to follow so we could speak of it somewhere without people offering commentary. I heard Star quietly snickering as I left.

He did so, and I walked into my room, closing the door behind Strange. He walked around, carefully picking up Miraak's staff from it's place by the door and spinning it a bit, inspecting it.

"Stop!" I hissed at him quietly, lunging and grabbing it in swift movements, "You don't touch these! You could've used up a charge!"

He raised a brow, "A charge?"

I sighed [You sigh a lot, your like Nico.] Annie stated. I mentally glared at her a moment until she backed off, then grabbed a filled petty soul gem.

I pointed the staff at the ground and tapped into it's charge, causing the tentacles to sprout from where it was pointed. Tapping the soul gem to the tip of the staff, I refilled it of the missing charge, and set it back by the door

He nodded, understanding, and we watched a few minutes until the tentacles disappeared.

"Anyways," He said awkwardly, "I could become your teacher. Although you have to keep your mind open or you can't use it." He laughed, "I didn't believe in magic at first, and I failed so many times, but eventually I learned to use it, and you can too."

I frowned, "So you didn't just have a natural connection to it?"

He tilted his head, "No? Magic is a learned skill on earth, not an inherent one."

I snorted, "And that's where your wrong." I summoned a frost Atronach by my side, before magically changing into my Archmage Robes and boots, as well as Morokei. Quickly conjuring doubles of myself and casting a quick detect life spell to check for onlookers, I walk up to him, "I was, like my mother, born with an affinity for magic."

He looked at the doubles and Atronach in shock, "What? How? Nobody is just a natural born sorcerer!"

I laughed, "Maybe not here. But back in Elswyr and Skyrim, and other places as well, hidden away, some are natural born mages. Of course, that is in a different plane from here, mayhaps I'll tell you later." I expelled the Atronach back to oblivion, "But probably not. It's a lot to explain. Magic is all around us, there's actually a surplus of magicka in the air. You guys are born with a gate, that needs to be unlocked before you can do anything."

I walked toward my potion station in the back, mixing some things for fun's sake, "I however, was born with that gateway wide open, just like my mother. My sister though, took after our father, enjoys ordinary weapons. Although she likes dual-handed weapons better than daggers, ever the tank."

I snorted and opened the door with a wave of my hand, "In fact. One magic you would not be able to learn until you are old and grey. The way of the Voice can only be learned through years patience or the blood of dragons. Do not tell Stark, he doesn't need to know. Goodbye." I heard him leave and changed back into the clothes I was wearing before, the robes and mask reappearing back in my closet.

I sighed, and sat on the floor of my balcony, looking out into the sky. The height reminds me of when I would shout myself off of the College of Winterhold, into the sea below. I loved doing it, the adrenaline rush, and the wake up call when you plunge into ice cold water.

Tony walked into my room, with a knock on the doorframe, "Fury has a last minute meeting on the helicarrier," he groaned, "I'll have to leave. Ask FRIDAY if you need anything, and Pepper's in her office. I'll be back before long, and if the trickster arrives and does anything bad or suspicious,"

He looked around at my weapons, "Well, stab first ask later. I've already told Peter and Star, and just in case it runs late, ask FRIDAY to forward the pizza order."

I nodded, "See you later Tony."

He ruffled my hair and I slightly scowled, making him laugh, "Yup. Definitely a mini-Natasha, see ya later kid." He takes a few steps away on the balcony and takes off, the rest of the suit forming mid-air.

I walk over to the living room silently, in case Star was playing a game, only to see Peter in an odd suit, sneaking out the window. Suspicious, but I can't throw accusations, since I have no idea what he's doing.

I could follow him, but he wouldn't react well to a vampire lord form. Even just partially transformed, the wings can fly, but are made for levitation, not extended flight.

I suppose I'll just have to question him when he returns.

I walked into the kitchen, following my nose to the smell of tea bags. There are a lot of different types, but ordinary tea is fine. I brew it and ignore the sounds of thunder outside, it was meant to storm later after all.

However I heard heavy footsteps, and a much lighter pair, and then loud voices. I widened my eyes, "Shit." I whispered, running into the living room to see Star facing off against the supposed god of thunder. She was barely holding her tongue, which likely would've spit accusations of some sort.

"Whoa whoa whoa," I said, dangerously calm, "Sis, what in Mundus is happening?"

She growled, "This man won't tell me who he is, how he got here, and is demanding to see Tony."

Thor glared, although it didn't make us flinch, "And she will not tell me where he is, nor why there is a child," he took another glance at me, "rather, children, in Stark's tower."

I sighed, "Tony is at a last minute meeting with some guy in a 'helicarrier'. His tone implied it was important, so I'm sorry you will have to wait until he returns." I walk back over to the couch and gently set the tea on the coffee table, producing a book from my satchel, "The reason we're here," I continued, "Is because Tony adopted us. And Peter, but I dunno where he went, probably to meet some friends at that deli he likes."

I took a sip of my tea and frowned, opening my satchel and digging around. I eventually found a small ziplock bag of moonsugar crystals, setting a crystal in my tea and watching it dissolve. Star slowly walked back to her room, watching distrustfully behind her.

Thor gave a loud booming chuckle, "I doubted Stark would adopt children, but good for him. Come along brother, to the cells!" I shook my head and held up a hand,

"Not quite Thor." I picked up a metal bracelet on the table, "Tony gave us instructions yesterday over dinner. This band limits his power. He's on house arrest of course." I opened one eye and looked them both up and down before tossing it to him, "But if either of you come into my room without knocking, it'll be stab first and ask questions later. Same goes for Star's room, but that may result more in bashing your head with a warhammer. The name is on the door, Moon."

I opened my other eye and began reading my book, sinking into the couch and listening to the sound of the bracelet snapping into place and all the other restraints falling off.

Thor walked off into the kitchen, muttering something about pop tarts, and Loki sat down on the other end of the couch. Just then it started pouring and I breathed a small sigh of relief, just in time.

I gazed out at the rain and walked into the elevator, "FRIDAY," I asked, "Roof please."

"Ms.Moontide, you know it is storming correct?"

I scoffed a moment, "No duh, that's why I want up there. And just call me Moon, no formalities for the AI." She didn't respond other than the movement of the elevator going upwards.

I smiled as I came to a stop and the door opened. I held a hand out and laughed, feeling the water lace delicately through my fingertips.

So as all people do, or as all people should in my opinion, I set my things down, removed my shoes, and began to dance.

The water made the roof slippery, but I was sure-footed as ever, sliding only of my own accord into the moves as the rain thrummed down around me like a song.

I started to hum along, no longer paying attention to anything really, slowly going into a daydream of back home. After all, nobody seems to enjoy the rain, and surely it won't get out of hand as long as I don't sing a word.

)Loki's POV(

The two mortals are odd to say the least. The tanner one, Star, I believe, seemed just as hot-headed as the bumbling oaf, but seemed not to know who we were.

The paler one, Moon, was much more calm and did know our names, yet she didn't fangirl like all the others do over Thor. Instead she seemed to have any aggression under check and appear calm. However she also looked ready to use the tea mug as a weapon or grab one, at no more than a moments notice. She still had clear distrust of us, but clearly knew that we were meant to be there.

Curious indeed.

As soon as it began to storm she went to the elevator and asked the AI to take her to the roof, I wonder why. She almost seemed relieved to get away from us, is it because she knows who we are? Or was there another reason?

Thor was in the kitchen, so I decided to follow her.

When I arrived I stayed in the shadows. She seemed very happy from where she stood, and I scowled, who enjoys getting soaked? Removing her sandals, she took a step and then another in a flowing movement. She was dancing? And to think 'dancing in the rain' was meant to just be a saying.

She started to hum, which i could hardly hear, and her moves got more complex, while still remaining graceful. It was nice to hear for some reason. How she wasn't slipping and falling off the roof I don't know, but she seemed to be happier than she was inside.

Eventually, she stopped and just laid down facing the sky, until the storm clouds left. I took this as my cue to leave.
