Asleep
Jordan laid on his bed, the light metal helmet worn by the guards on the solid oak table beside his bed. He sighed, looking beside him to the leather-bound steel blade, glinting in the moonlight from the window, its copper hilt. It had perfect balance, making it an amazing sword. He slowly drifted off to sleep, surrendering his will to the dark abyss of sleep.

He was lying there, in a field. "How did I get here...?" He murmured, standing up slowly. All around him was an expanse of yellowing grass, not a house in sight. A few cows fed nearby, but otherwise nothing except the grass. "Where am I....?" He shook his head. "I-I'm dreaming..." He said aloud. "This is a dream." He said, with conviction this time. He looked around him once more, and saw a man. The man had a longbow across his back, with light leather armor. On the right side of his chest was an insignia of a red lion on a black backround, the symbol for the Guardians. The leather armor was studded with steel and highly durable, from the looks of it, made for mobility and mild defense.
"Hello." The man said, his gray-green eyes staring directly into Jordan's.
"Hi..." Jordan replied. "Who are you? Are you a Guardian?"
"Yes, but that is not important. I come with a message."
"Hmmm? For who?" Jordan asked, curious.
"For you." The man sighed and shook his head. "Should have been obvious, no?" His mouth curved slightly into the trace of a smile. "You must seek out the last of the Dragons. They are the only way to end the Blight."
"What blight?"
"Bye. Think on my words." Jordan suddenly felt strange. He closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he was awake again. "Huh..?" He murmured, and shook his head. "What was that about..."
