☆Chapter 3☆
Chapter 3
Shizukas POV.
"Genin exams," I muttered under my breath as kakashi attempted for the fifth time to make bacon and eggs. Each time it seemed to get worse, ranging from flaming pots to a burnt to a crisp egg.
"What was that?" He took his eyes off the grill for a split second to see what I was saying, and I smelled smoke already. "Did you say something-" he was cut off by the fire alarm. "OH SHIT-" his eyes widened as he frantically ran to the sink, then doused the pan in cold water.
"-AKE MUSHROOMS," I finished while waving my unused chopsticks in the air. "No cursing unless it's me." He let out a sigh as his seventh or sixth pan is thrown into the garbage can. Ooh, that rhymed. "Anyway. I was talking about the genin exams, the one that I've taken like what, four five times already? I have headbands from almost every village there is, except the land of waves. That was just a depressing hellhole." I shivered at the reminder of the poor people all huddled on the streets. Their eyes were dead, hollow, completely washed of emotion. It was enough to send me far away from that place.
"Oh? You have that many headbands?" He asked, an eyebrow raised as if he thought I was lying.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my hoodie, getting ready to leave before he asks anything else. I popped a lollipop in my mouth as an alternate breakfast. "Yea. Don't believe me? Ask the hokage, kazekage, mizukage, raikage, and the tsuchikage. Everyone knows me, I'm more commonly known as the "Dragon wielder," some see me in the bingo book, but those copies only certain people have. Now if you don't mind, I'm late for school." I was about to walk out the door when I smelled smoke, "oh and, the stove is still on." Then waltzed outside as kakashi scrambled to the flame and sprayed it with water.
I arrived at the academy a little late since most people already received headbands. But that's fine.
The door slid open and I strolled in with confidence that I would ace the test. These exams are easy, and this one would probably be the easiest since it's about clones. And I know the shadow clone jutsu.
There are perks that come with holding eight dragons, one of which would be learning forbidden Justus.
My hands rested on the back of my neck as I made my way through the fan girls and fan boys to my seat beside naruto. "Hey whiskers." I greeted as I took out the cherry candy from my mouth and twirled it in my hands. "Whatcha thinking about?" I glanced at his figure. He was sweating little, but noticeable, and his heart was pounding. My eyes narrowed, why was he so nervous? It's just the clone jutsu, unless... Oh. "Hey." I tapped his shoulder. "Look at me." I pulled his chin gently to meet my gaze, "you'll do fine. Alright?"
He gulped then forced a small smile on his face, "yea. I'm going be the future hokage, so I gotta pass this. Believe it!" He pumped his fist in the air. I playfully rolled my eyes at his cheeriness.
"SHIZUKA RYUU" my name was announced throughout the classroom. Which caused an out roar of shrieks.
"It's fine. Being deaf can't be that bad." I whispered to no one as I practiced my ASL on my way to the testing room.
"Shizuka ryuu. Please create three clones." Someone mumbled back on earth, "shizuka?" They called again, but no use. I was in my own little world trying to remember how to sign "I want food." "SHIZUKA"
My eyes snapped up, "hm?" I raised my eyebrows, the room was blurry and seemed foggy. I squinted as everything finally started to return back to HD, "oh right. Three clones. Yea. Sure. Gimme a minute." I shook my head around to clear up my mind. Okay. Let's do this shit. I thought to myself as I did the hand signs.
Ram
Serpent
Tiger
"Shadow clown jutsu!" I half yelled half mumbled while fifteen other mes proofed out of nowhere. They all looked bored out of their mind as if asking me "why the hell did you make us?" Then there was that one me that laid on the ground drooling. I face palmed as the fifteen poofed away under my command. "There. Done. Now gimme the headband so I can complete my collection." I held a hand out.
"R-right. You can chose." He gestured to the table of headbands with such a variety of colors. Sense my sarcasm hey?
"Gee. It's so hard to chose between all these vibrant and colorful choices." I looked at them with my eyes narrowed, not amused in the least. "You have any other colors beside navy blue, navy blue, and navy blue?" My hand picked one up then dropped it back down as if it were some disgusting creature. As you can probably tell by now, I can be very salty when I want to be.
"Yes, of course. You can chose from this box." The other man whom I don't know replied with a giant box pulled out from under the table filled to the top with headbands. And guess what color there was? Maroon red, matte black, and navy blue. None of which are my cup of tea.
"Do you have anything, sea green? Or maybe turquoise?" I asked while scourging through the cardboard cubicle. "Oh wait. Nevermind, I found one." I stated as I pulled out the one and only turquoise band there was. I smiled in triumph as I tied it loosely around my neck so it's dangling below my necklace. "Thanks dolphin and the white haired man whom I don't know or trust. Now, bye." My hand waved as my legs guided me out the door back to the classroom.
"Hey whiskers. Your turn." I poked his temple. He gave me a million dollar grin then took off, leaving me in the dust with tens if not hundreds or fans. I gritted my teeth through my smile, "excuse me, I need to talk to-" my eyes frantically glanced around the room to try and find someone who seemed bored and not interested in anything in the slightest, "-the Nara." They immediately spread out and made a small passage for me to get through. "Thank you." I added a curt nod as I walked to Naras side and plopped myself down. "Sup."
"Why are you dressing as a boy." He stated rather then questioned quietly. Then slowly, as if it were a burden, raised his head to meet my gaze.
"Well. I wouldn't expect anything less of a Nara kid." I pressed back, "why am I dressed as a boy?" I restated then twisted my neck to face him again, "why is your hair shaped like a pineapple?" I retorted and arched an eyebrow at his weird haircut.
"Touché," he replied then placed his head back in his arms and probably fell asleep. I shrugged my shoulders as i soon after also fell into a small nap.
I'm not sure how many hours passed when someone finally shook me awake. "Oy. Troublesome woman, wake up." My eyelids felt like hundred pound barbells stitched together with hot glue. It takes a lot to wake me up in case you havnt noticed yet.
I groaned unhappily, "what..." I rubbed my eyes with my palms as mizu sent shards of Icy cold blood through my hand to wake me up even more. My eyes widened as suddenly a flash of heat passes through my eyelids like wildfire, the doing of one of the sankyoi triplets. "Yeah, OKAY. I'm up." I jerk awake.
"Finally. Everyone left for the family gathering thing. Naruto told me to wake you up. I don't know where he went." He scratched the back of his head. "You should go to your family. They're probably wondering where you are."
My gaze lowered, "my family's dead." And the atmosphere becomes dead silent. "But it's Fine!! You didn't know, and besides. They've been dead for like what, five, six years? Yeah, that sounds about right." I pondered on my parents death. wow.
"Oh, okay. I'm still sorry for your loss." He avoided my gaze. "Troublesome woman. Either way you gotta go unless you want to be locked inside." He sighed then held out a hand for me to grab.
He yanked me up then gestured me to follow after him, which I did like a lost puppy. He guided me out the back door to a gathered crowd of parents and children. The Nara gestured over to a small kid swinging all alone on a swing, then over to his father, which I took as a way of saying "I'm going to go before he starts to ramble." I nodded then strolled toward the child.
I gingerly stepped closer to find a boy in an orange jumpsuit and spiky yellow hair, whom turned out to be Naruto. "What's up whiskers? Why the depressing aura?" I questioned as I plopped my ass on the dirt next to him. "Where did you tie your headband?" I scanned him over but found no metal object.
"I didn't get one. I didn't pass...." his head was held low, but he sounded like he was on the verge of crying.
I softened my gaze at his vulnerable state, "hey. You can't possibly give up now! Think whiskers. Think!" I squished his cheeks together, "Would a hokage just give up if he lost a battle? Would he just lose hope?" He shook his head, "exactly. So why are you giving up? You can't give up just because you lost one battle. You still have a war to win." I gave him a closed eyes smile. "Understood?" A small grin slowly crept onto his face as he nodded his head viciously. "Good. Because I have no idea what I said." I took my hands off his face and fell backwards onto the grass. My eyes gazed at the clouds above, for a while we just sat in a comfortable silence.
Then, a shadowy figure towered over me and blocked my view. "Hi there Shizuka, Naruto."
The figure whom I found out was the white haired man from the testing room. "Hi there white haired man who I still don't know or trust. Whatcha want?" I pressed my foot into the soil and hoisted myself up.
"Actually, I was wondering if I can talk to naruto for a minute." He gave me a horrid fake smile that looked more like an evil grin if anything.
I narrowed my eyes, "do you not understand the name I chose to give you? White haired man whom I don't know or trust."
His mouth opened, getting ready to say something when naruto chimed in and cut him off. "It's okay ryuu, I got this. Believe it!" Before I could reply, a thumb was jabbed my way.
So hesitantly, I said, "fine. But if you need me at all just tell and I'll be there in a flash." He smiled goofily then walked off with the man. I sighed, then started to trot home. I waved at the people passing by and accepted some of their kind offers which included bread, dangos, some old clothes of both genders, and some fruits. I flashed each one of them with a genuine smile as a thanks.
My feet soon stood in front of the wooden door that lead to "home" I pushed the door open when no one answered my knocks and kicks, then inspected around the house. Nothing out of the ordinary. Kakashi must be out or something. Oh well.
I placed all of my goods on the table and threw the clothes onto my bed. I was about to go take a shower when a flash of purple skidded under my eyelids. Then followed by a "can I come out ryuu sama? Please? Pretty pretty pretty please?" The voice was of the youngest sankyoi triplets, who was only seven. They are triplets but each was born in a different dimension so
they have age gaps. The oldest is 13, the next is 10, and the youngest is 7. I chuckled as I let him out and explore the new home. He was in his baby Dragon form, the one he is in when he's bored and wants to play.
"Oh yay! I'm out! I'm free! Oh thank you ryuu sama!! Thank you!!" He glomped me in a warm yet cold dragon hug, like a puppy in a dragons body. He cooed as I wrapped my arms around his, for he always saw me as a mother figure since he was assigned to me right when he was born. He never saw his real mother, for she died shortly after birth, so I kinda took him under my wing.
So, we played around with a dragon ball toy that flickered pink everytime he caught it, then we raced around the house. A little later, I made us some dinner that we could both eat, and left some for kakashi in the fridge. It was about 10ish when the baby purple ball fell asleep purring in my arms, as well as when kakashi finally came home.
He opened the door with a bang, literally. The door slammed into the wall. I widened my eyes and glared into his skull until I could see it melt away. I brought my finger to my lip and made a hush gesture, then pointed to the sleeping dragon in my arms. "If you wake him up, I swear, you won't live to see tomorrow." I hissed with so much venom I'm sure I saw him flinch. Kakashi sweat-dropped then put his hands up in surrender, and walked to the kitchen. He looked around the cabinets for food but none was there so he sighed and walked away.
I facepalmed with my free hand, then held the dragon like a baby and walked slowly walked over to the fridge and took out the meal. "Kakashi!" I whispered as I jerked my head towards the food on the table.
He smiled under his mask and took the plate. He was about to microwave it when I quickly took it out of his hands and heated it up myself, scared that the beeping would wake him up. "There. You can eat it now." I whispered again, "don't worry about me seeing your face. I'm gonna be in my room sleeping. And I swear if I hear anything, even the sound of you breathing, i will chop off your tongue." I narrowed my laser shooting eyes at him, then quietly marched to my room where I presumed to place the baby under a small blanket and on top of a soft pillow. Honestly, I care more for my dragons then my blood relatives. If they were alive that is.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, then fell onto the bed while a few coughs escaped my throat.
I looked at my hand as a familiar black goo was dotted on my hands. My mind went blank, what? My heart started to pound and my breathing began to get ragged. I gripped tightly onto my necklace as if my life depended on it as I went to the bathroom to wash it off. It's probably just a side effect of the seal. It's fine. I'll be fine. Stop worrying over nothing. I thought repeatedly to myself.
My legs trotted back to the bed then gave out from under me. I flopped onto the mattress then gave up on hauling the lower half of my body up. My eyes slowly cluttered close as my breathing became more steady. It's fine. Everything will be fine.
HELLO CHILDRENNNNNN!! I'm so sorry for the late ass update, I work on a part of it everyday so it takes a little while. But here it is!!!! And damn, that foreshadowing tho. AND HAPPY TURKEY DAAAAY. Okay, I'm gonna go now. Cya!!
