Lucinda was looking anxiously behind the dark rock not far from the entrance of the cave where she was hiding before.

Her large brown eyes searched the vast rocky scenery looking for any sigh of her enemies.

Despite the fact that she was healthy and athletic she wasn't in the best condition now.

The hunger made her weak every day.

She was trapped in this freezing dark cave without a proper meal to help her endure the cold for so many days.

With only few peace's of bread and nuts which was her everyday meal she couldn't support her previous stamina and endurance.

And she knew it.

But she had taken her decision.

Taking all the remaining provisions and water she damped her friend behind as she slept.

"She can die alone."she thought with a little sadness as she looked for the last time behind her.

She was useless for her anyway.
Only a burden.

-"I have to save myself now !" she whispered to herself softly but with determination in her soul.

Suddenly she started to walk as silently as possible hiding behind any rock or ice piece that she could find in her way.

The night was calm almost too calm.

Not a sound for the outside world from the beginning

She had spotted a forest not far from there.

"Not very far at least "she thought looking towards the dark forest that she could still see in the deem moonlight.

But as she prepared to cross another open ground she heard a small cracking sound from somewhere in the bushes no far from her.

The cold and a sudden fear sent chills up her spine.

She froze instinctively in her place.

Who was there ? she thought with a shivering cold feeling running down her s back.

No sound was coming from her lips.
She almost didn't breathe.

Not very far away and into the nearby forest two pairs of dark yellow eyes was watching her with intensity.

- This is a pretty one ! a harsh male voice said with a wicked smile.
"I didn't expect that in such a place " he continued laughing silently.

- "He shouldn't approached her so soon" the female voice replied angrily,
What if she runs now" !" she said with a low hissing like adder.

"-They never ran fast enough but we still have to chase them around t like children ! " she said again angrily.

The male turned his broad face towards her and made a low growling sound from his tusked mouth.

"- It was asked from us to bring them unharmed and alive ," the female continued but now avoiding to look directly at her mate eyes.

-"Bregor just scared her ! Look the clumsiness of your useless seed ! ",she whispered with obvious disappointment trying again to accuse his bastard son as she usually mentioned him ...

The other male figure remained silent for a while.

Both was in a arrow shooting distance and watched carefully their prey.

Lucinda was moving unseen, as she believed at least, behind the rocks and headed towards the forest near the edge of the valley.

-"Catch this one , he said angrily the deep male voice said with a commanding tone in his almost human voice.

-"I will follow her trail to find her hiding place.
Her injured friend he continued looking his mate in the eye's.

-"Yes ...the previous trails of them indicated us that one of the two females was limp"...This must be the other, he ended taking out a small shiny flask and sipping a crimson liquid from it.

Few still hot drops fell in the crystal blue ice, from his wild beard and evaporated immediately.

It was blood.

- "Take our hounds to track her down " ,the female sharply replied looking with her cold grey eyes towards the direction of the girl in the wastelands.

Her white sharp teeth appeared suddenly in her mouth as a wry smile carved in her pale grey face.

-"Foolish humans from the north ! They have no chance here ! ", she added with a small smirk still playing across her unnatural deep red lips.

Now because of her attempt her unwary friend ,Kiara will soon be in the mercy of the bounty hunters ...
