Natsu watched Lucy sleeping soundly on the mat he had built especially for her. He smiled a bit. She looked so peaceful in her sleep. He wanted to join her, but he had to fight that urge knowing the other slayers would look down upon that if he did.

"What are you doing Natsu-san?" Wendy walked over to him.

"Just watching Lucy. You?"

Wendy shrugged. "Romeo is still asleep. When is Laxus-san going to return?"

"I don't know." Natsu shrugged as Laxus entered through his wing.

"Hey Laxus-san!" Wendy waved at the lightning dragon slayer.

"Hello Wendy. Natsu. Where are the others?" Laxus asked.

"They've decided to make a special bed for your queen Laxus." Natsu replied smiling brightly.

"They did?" Laxus looked slightly shocked.

"And they're even coating it in your scent so that when Mira-san wakes up, she'll know she's yours." Wendy added.

"Can I go see this?"

"Sure. We'll take you there!" Both Natsu and Wendy led Laxus to the other slayers.

A large bed made out of bamboo sticks and decorated with white and red roses stood at the front of the nesting grounds. At the foot of the bed, a plaque with the words Property of Laxus Dreyar stood prominently and proudly.

"Nice. I like it." Laxus grinned. "Can I put Mirajane in it now or do I have to wait?"

"You can lay her in now." Sting smiled stepping away from the bed.

"Alright." Laxus laid his queen onto the bed and covered her up. "Now we must scavenge for food, for we will have a feast tonight!"

The other dragon slayers roared in agreement. Then all but Natsu left to find food for the feast.

Natsu looked at Lucy once more. "My princess." He knelt down and moved closer to her. Her skin felt soft against his rough and scaly skin. Lucy was so warm and bright. "Luce...." He whispered, her eyes flickered as she began to awaken from her slumber.

"Natsu?" Lucy looked up at the fire dragon slayer.

"You sleep well princess?"

"Huh?" She looked at him oddly. "Are you feeling okay Natsu?"

"I'm feeling much better now that you're here with me." Lucy blushed a bit which made Natsu turn a slight red.

"Where am I?" Lucy asked, she was more awake and aware of her surroundings.

"A place where you will be safe." Natsu smiled. Lucy looked around and once she viewed the other slayers' mates, her eyes widened with fear.

"Why are we here?" She asked. Her voice trembled with fear.

"You are essential to the process."

"What process is that?"

"The dragon slayer mating season process."
