12: A Meaningful Sorry
I was sitting on my bed trying to figure out what more I could do when my phone rang. I was about to ignore it when I saw the ID. Why would he call me?
"Michael?"
Just a reminder from the past chapitre.

"Hey Luce..."
"I- but- why- why are you calling?"
"Just saying that I got your notes, and-" Michael's voice was barely over a whisper.
"And?" Lucifer pressed.
"And I think I can manage. Of course, it'll be hard, you kinda ditched me three days in, but I miss you, Lucifer."
"What are you saying?" Are you saying what I think you're saying?
"I-" Michael took a moment to stop the trembling of his voice. "Were you serious? With your notes, all of it, is it true?"
"Yes." Now it was Lucifer's time to stop his voice from shaking. "All of it, I'm just a narcissistic bastard to have done that, I'm so incredibly sorry, I thought you wouldn't talk to me for the rest of my life." Lucifer didn't even try to chuckle at the end, because it was the truth.
"I thought so too, but... I can't stay away, you know. Every time I look away or get you out of my thoughts my soulmark burns so bad, it wants us to be together, and I'm willing to give you a try. And really, I can't take it anymore, it hurts so much staying away. It's like I went back to how I was before and it isn't nice."
"Really?" Lucifer's voice was filled with hope. Michael was taking him back!
"It'll be hard, but yes. Just don't ever ditch me again."
"I promise," Lucifer said, and he really meant it. "I promise Michael, I'll never let you go again."
"Then come at my house tomorrow after school. We have a lot of catching up to do, and I want to hear in person why you did that."
"Ok. Thank you, Michael, I don't know what I would've done if you stayed away."
Michael let out a dry laugh. "I know exactly what I would've done if you didn't send your notes," he said, the dark subtext making Lucifer involuntarily shiver. "Bye Lucifer."
"Bye Mike."
Lucifer did his best not to squeal when they hung up. After all he had said and done, Michael was willing to forgive him, to give him a second chance!
At school the next day, Michael acknowledged Lucifer's presence even if he didn't talk to him yet. Still, it was a big improvement.
When school ended, Lucifer dropped Sam and Gabriel at the Novak's house before driving off to Michael's. He was nervous to see Michael alone, but controlled himself. He wouldn't scrap everything, not this time.
When they sat together on Michael's bed was when Lucifer saw for the first time how awful Michael looked.
Michael's shirt was hanging loosely on his shoulders due to Michael's weight loss. His hair was messed up though still relatively clean, but his skin was too pale and there were dark bags under his eyes.
They sat there for a moment, not talking, only thinking of what would happen. Then Lucifer took upon himself and talked.
"I'm sorry."
Michael let out a sour chuckle. "Yeah, you already said that."
"I know, but I won't ever say it enough. I was so stupid, worried about the other's opinion of me-"
"What changed your mind?"
"Adam."
"Adam who?"
"Adam's in the team, he's been dating this guy, Samandriel. The other guys were so supportive, I realized they couldn't care less who I was dating."
"And your dad?"
"I don't know, but I don't think he cares. I mean, Gabriel's dating your brother and he has nothing against it, so..."
Michael scoffed, then looked at Lucifer with what could be either anger or sadness in his eyes. "Yeah, sure. See you tomorrow."
Lucifer took the cue and left, happy Michael could give him a try and angry he had done that to Michael.

Ok, without this author note the chapitre is 666 words guys!
I don't really have anything else to say, but I've noticed how sabriel and michifer seem to become two different stories and I'll try to do something about it.
