Levy's POV

I smirk inwardly as his eyes widen after I said his name.

"Y-ya can understand me," he ask me.

"How else would I know that your full name is Black Steel Gajeel and that you are the prince of dragons," I ask him.

"Oh yeah...makes sense. Alright. What I want is yer people to let the dragons go and stop breaking their spirits."

"I understand your standards. Though I don't know that my mother would let you or believe me," I say as I sigh.

"I understand Shrimp. So what are ya won a do with me? Try and break my spirit like the rest of your people?"

"No. And what's with the nickname Shrimp," I ask him.

"Well yer smaller than me and yer cute like one," Gajeel tells me.

I feel myself blush as I stutter to say something. Gajeel chuckles as he looks at me.

"So what are ya gonna do with me Princess?"

I regain my composure and look at Gajeel.

"I'm going to let you go Gajeel," I tell him.

He looks at me and lower his head.

"And why would ya do that? They will come after me and try and break me again little girl," he tells me.

"Then you have to obey me and make it look like I have control over you," I tell him.

"And why would I do that?"

"Would you rather have the Breaker do what he did today or pretend to be under my control. And don't forget you can tell me if you need anything or need something fix," I point out.

Their is silence as Gajeel thinks.

"That wouldn't be bad. And I can talk to the others and see what we can do together...alright Shrimp ya have yerself a deal," Gajeel tells me.

"Thank you for your cooperation Prince Black Steel Gajeel," I say as I bow slightly.

"Please just call me Gajeel. And I'll call ya Shrimp," he tells me.

"You know you can call me Levy," I tell him. "That is my real name."

"Please. We are at equal status so I can call ya want I wanna."

"Equal status? Your a dragon prince. I'm just a princess."

"Who is gonna be my rider until further notice," Gajeel points out. "Can ya talk to other dragons?"

"I have never been with a dragon for a long period of time. I see them fly overhead but I have never seen the Breaker try and break a dragon's spirit. I hear the dragons roar but I never tried to communicate with them," I tell Gajeel.

"Shall we take a stroll to see the others dragons and see if ya can?"

"Sure. Let me just get you free of the chains."

"Ah. I still need to eat and this is iron and I am the Iron Dragon," Gajeel says as he starts to eat the chains.

I watch him eat the chains. After he is done his scales shift and the chain necklace falls off. He eats that too and looks at me.

"Now that I'm free. Where to Shrimp?"

"Well we should find where you will be staying until further notice," I say as we start to walk towards the other dragons.

I help in surprise as Gajeel place me on his back.

"There ya go. Ya can look around and get use to being on my neck," he says as we continue.

"Princess?! What are you doing here," I hear a voice say and I turn to see Jet come up on his dragon Speedy.

"Hello Jet. I was looking for a place to put Gajeel," I tell him.

"You mean your dragon? The Royal holders for their dragon are in the deepest part of the caves. I'll show you where to put him."

I nod my head as we follow Jet.

"That's strange. The dragon is completely silent. Usually we can communicate to the other dragons through our head. Also, I'm 99% sure ya can communicate with me through yer head," Gajeel tells me.

"You so-wow! I'm communicating to another being through me head! This is so cool!!!"

"Yup. Now I can tell ya about dragons since we are gonna be working together. We have two forms. Our dragon form and then a humanoid form. Since I'm the prince I can look like a real human. Though I usually like to look like a human with wings and horns. Anyway. The other dragons can turn into a humanoid form but ya will see their scale, wings and horns. And we can speak yer language in our human/humanoid form. When we are a dragon we speak through our head. When we roar is a way to communicate out of the reach of communication through our head," Gajeel tells me as we continue to follow Jet.

"That is very interesting. Though why can I talk to dragons? Can all human talk with you or hear you through their head?"

"It's a special way for only two type of people. Some who's father or mother was a dragon and their other parent is human. Or their ancestor was part-human part-dragon. That ability pass through generation. Though the power to shift into a dragon does not."

"Wait what?! So your saying I have dragon blood running through me," I say in utter shock.

"That's exactly what I'm saying Shrimp."

"Why does your dragon don't have a collar," Jet ask me.

"We became friends and he doesn't need one," I tell him as he scuff.

"Please your Majesty! Dragons are too low of a creature to be able to follow our instructions without the collar. You have a collar in your chamber where your dragon will stay. I will place it on him once we reach there."

"There is no way in hell that he's gonna put a collar on me! I ain't a pet and nether are the dragons here!"

"What do the collars do," I ask Jet after hearing what Gajeel have to say in my head.

"They are leather and hold a piece of your hair. They will only listen to you with it on. It is easier to control a dragon with a collar and who's spirit is broken. If you tell them to kill themself they will do without a single thought. The collar stops them from thinking independently and just listen to you," he explains.

"Hell no! I ain't gonna have that fucking collar on! No way in hell," Gajeel proclaims as he stops and look at Jet dangerously.

"Then destroy mine. I'm not going to put that on my friend. I would rather have his trust than control his every action without his own consent."

"Princess Levy. These dragon were born to have humans control them," Jet says as he stops Speedy and look at me. "There is nothing you can do to change their destiny."

I look at him in pure shock to hear him say that. The rest of the way to the Royal chambers is in silence.
