Camping Trip

Valerie's POV:

Since the discovery of the other Riders, Raven and I had been studying everything we could about the history of magic, illusions, tracking spells and. concealment spells. These were going to be the most useful during our trip, and we needed to have them down perfectly.

Even if we weren't going to tell our parents, we did tell Anne, so that she could help us with the plan.

We also decided that before we left, we would do a camping trip all together, as a kind of goodbye activity. It was the last week of winter vacations, and we had decided to go the forest where I'd originally hid Isaldrí, close to my uncle's cottage. My mother would take us, and the dragons would fly there the afternoon before.

The next day, we got there, unloaded all our things, and ventured into the forest. Amethyst and Isaldrí had sent us a mental image of where they were, and we met them there.

We set up our tent while we discussed what we thought was going to happen during the trip.

"Where do you think we will find Riders?" Anne inquired.

"I don't think that we will find any more here in Canada, since we are already two here, but we'll check anyways. I say the most probable places are the US and Europe, but it would be super interesting too meet Riders from other places like Africa and Asia."

"Ooh, yes that would be so cool!" Raven agreed. "I just hope that they accept me as you have." She confessed.
"Of course they will!" I reassured her.
"Do you really think so?" She inquired, not really sure about it.
"Of course." Me and Anne replied in unison.

She smiled.

"I'm glad you really think so. I'm so lucky to have friends like you."
"We are great friends, aren't we?" Anne scoffed.
"Please. I've had enough sass from my sister." I complained.
"Whatever."
"Don't whatever me!" I scolded in mock anger.
"Who said you can tell me what to do?" She argued back, arching her eyebrow.
"I did."
"No. You can't."

We started arguing back and forth. It was kind of the stereotype 'yes.' 'no.' 'yes.' 'no.', until somebody repeated what the other said, and it finished. The difference was that this time, Raven got too impatient for that to happen, and yelled at us to stop.

"Look, we came here to be happy and to have one last event together before we leave to find the other Riders. We didn't come here to argue. Even if I know that you're just kidding, this really isn't the time." She chided.
"You're right Raven."

After that, everything was more peaceful. We finished setting up everything, and started to gather wood for the bonfire.

"It's a shame that none of us is a Fire Rider. It would be so much easier to build one that way." Raven commented.

"True, but then again, it's all part of the adventure, right?"
"Yeah, it is."

"What element do you think you would be if you were a Rider, Anne? I wondered.

I'd been pondering this for a while, but I couldn't seem to decide between Earth, Air and Water. She obviously was either a Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, but I couldn't decide about this, and I finally decided to ask her myself.

"I'd never really given much thought to it. I suppose that any other than Fire could work."

"You know, I think the same thing. I can't just seem to decide which of those it would be."

"I have an idea!" Raven exclaimed. "What about if we do a Q&A? We would take turns to ask each other questions to get to know each other better."

"Cool." Anne remarked

"Can we participate too?" Asked the dragons.

"Sure." We agreed.

Raven went first. "Ok, first question. How did you two meet?"

"It was at the stables actually. I moved here from Miami, and school hadn't started. I was looking for a place to ride. I didn't have Flicka back then, but I did take into account the fact that one day, I might have a horse of my own." I explained.

"I showed her around, and after that, we became fast friends. When school started, we became even closer, seeing as we already knew, each other, and were in the same classroom." Anne continued.

"Over time we grew closer, and then met you." I concluded.

"Now my turn. Can you tell us a little bit about your story Raven?" I asked hesitantly. I knew that she was very reserved about it, and didn't like bringing the topic up, so I didn't want to push her to say anything. "If you don't want to, I'll change question."

"I suppose I could tell you a little..." She trailed off. "I used to go to a different school. I had been best friends with a girl called Gaby my whole life. One day, I found out that she'd been spreading rumors about me for a while, so I left school. Then, I met you guys."

So that was why she was so edgy. I actually was surprised that she had decided to share. Anyways, the rest of the night passed quietly, without anything major. After a while we went to bed, and I laid there, in my sleeping bag, reflecting on everything. All was well.

Hi guys, sorry for the short chapter. From now on, things are going to get more exciting, and we will start meeting the new Riders. Character requests are still open, and will be until we get to the last of the main Riders, which is the last chapter I have planned for now. Comment on what you think of the new part of Raven's past, and don't forget to vote either, if the chapter deserves it.

~Valerie.
