Chapter 4
"What was that?" Dune asked.
"Trouble." Sandstorm simply answered picking up Kalahari. I looked up. I noticed two dragons with swords fly towards the forest. They were a Water Dragon and a Electric Dragon. Right when they entered, I saw thunder immediately strike in the forest. A battle was going on. I grasped Syrian harder.
"I'm checking it out. I sense a battle is going on." I said. Both royal dragons nodded and we went it the forrest. I was immediately greeted with a large battle going on. One side had a bunch of wounded Nature Dragons and the other had a small army of Water and Electric Dragons with swords.
"Who dares trespass on this here land?" One of the Electric Dragons asked.
"This isn't your land you filthy pirates, you invaded us! One of the Nature Dragons yelled. "Since! If you don't shut up, my boss will make ya walk the plank." A Water Dragon yelled. I looked at Prince Dune and Princess Sandstorm. Both had their weapons out. "Dragons of the Nature Kingdom. We came to help cast off these pirates!" I announced. "Good. Because a bit of back up wouldn't hurt." I heard a voice respond. I saw a Nature Dragon approach us. He wore golden armor with green also mixed in. The Nature Dragon Emblem was on his shoulder pads. He also wore a headband that had green and gold mixed together. He also had gloves on his front paws that matched his armor. His bow was the most unusual part. It was pure golden with a dragon head on the middle of it. It had a green gem also planted in the middle of it. The bow's strangest feature was the lack of string. The dragon didn't even have any arrows with him either. I didn't recognize him, but Prince Dune immediately did.
"No way! Are you THE Leaf of the V.I.D.?" He asked looking like he saw a ghost.
"Yes that is me." Leaf nodded.
"Your THE bestest archer to ever live! And your in the Outlands!" Dune cheered shaking Leaf's paw really hard.
"Ugh! Not so hard you maniac." Leaf grumbled. I was waiting to see when Prince Dune would pass out.
"What are you doing in the Outlands?" Sandstorm asked.
"I was sent by Hagon to check up on other lands that needed help. I heard from a Nature Dragon that pirates were invading. So, I got my friends and came here." Leaf explained. "Interesting. It's good to meet you Leaf. My name is Inka." I responded.
"Its good to meet you as well.
"Anyways, me and my army will help you." I said.
"Okay then. They only have a few pirates. But they are really tough. Me and my army are having trouble." Leaf responded pointing at two other archers in the middle of battle. One was a Dark Dragon who's wings looked like a angels. The other was wearing hooded armor. I could barely tell he was a Nature elemented Dragon.
"Umbra. Robin. I'd like you to meet another army that will be assisting us." Leaf said pointing to us.
"Oh cool! Thank you a ton for helping." The Dark Dragoness responded. She walked up to Leaf and put her paw on his. Both of their tails wrapped around each other. Leaf rested his right wing on her.
"Are you Umbra! You were Leaf's amazing sidekick!" Dune asked.
"Yes that's me. And I'm was more his best friend back then." Umbra responded.
"Now we are both finally in the destined relationship that we deserved." Leaf responded nuzzling Umbra. I noticed Princess Sandstorm was smiling at the two cuddling each other. "Awwww. Congratulations you two." She finally spoke.
"Um HELP here!" Robin panicked.
"Coming! All right you three. How it's going to work is we fire at a range while the three of you attack close range." Leaf explained.
"All right! Let's show these pirates a bit of Gobi's TRUE power!" Dune cheered swiping his axe recklessly. He almost hit Robin.
"Gah! Watch where you swing that thing you fool!" Robin yelled.
"Sorry but Gobi is on fire today!" Dune shouted hitting some trees. Princess Sandstorm face palmed. The she drawing her sword and attacked the pirates Prince Dune missed. I flew upwards to get a view of the environment. I could see their leader at the edge of the forest. He was a hybrid of both Electric and Water and he had a pirate sword like the others.
"Arg! Not this time! I learned my lesson about airborne attackers!" He yelled shooting lightning at me. I tried countering, but it was too quick of a attack and I got hit. I roared in pain as I fell back down into the forest. Leaf immediately ran up to me.
"Are you okay?!" He asked.
"Yeah. I am. That was just unexpected. He had two elements." I said slowly getting up.
"That is is their leader. His name is Captain Voltage. I hate him. He captured me and Umbra and ever since we were freed, he's been wanting nothing but revenge." Leaf explained. "Sorry to hear that." I apologized.
"Don't be sorry. You had nothing to do with that. I actually kind of thank him. If he didn't capture us, me and Umbra would've never met and became a couple." Leaf explained chucking.
"I think we should have three of us face Captain Voltage and have the other three fight off his goons." I said.
"Hmmm. You are quite the planner are you." Leaf observed.
"I try. I did want to be a guard after all....before....failing." I responded sounding a bit depressed.
"Hmph. Those dragons on Excalibur's side expect too much." Leaf grumbled.
"No. I failed because I saw Nebula and got distracted." I explained.
"Ok." Leaf simply responded. I noticed Prince Dune and Princess Sandstorm now had a few scratches and bruises. I was suddenly shook at the fact if these injuries scared, I would die. I shook my head. Their injuries weren't that bad. And both of them were doing a good job fighting.
"Onto your plan, witch three do you want to fight Captain Voltage?" Leaf asked.
"Princess Sandstorm should. Her swordplay should be able to counter his and two archers should accompany her from a distance." I explained.
"Good idea. I'll send Umbra and Robin with her." Leaf said flying over to the rest of the team.
"Umbra and Robin! Get to their leader this instant!" Leaf commanded.
"What for?" Umbra asked. "Inka has a strategy that I want to try." Leaf explained flying over to me. Robin simply nodded as he flew to the edge of the forest.
"Are you okay? You never really cared for strategies. Believe me, I know you best." Umbra asked.
"Yes I'm fine. You have to fight at a range though." Leaf responded. I watched as she flew over to where Robin went. I ran over to Princess Sandstorm.
"Princess." I responded bowing.
"What do you need?! I'm trying to fight!" She scolded.
"I want you to fly up ahead and take on Captain Voltage." I said blocking a sword strike.
"Why? I'm trying to fight off these dragons right now!" Sandstorm yelled.
"It's better if you're swordplay could fight off the leader." I responded.
"Sorry. But I don't want to." Sandstorm responded turning her away from me and focusing on her fight. I sighed.
"Why dose she hate me?" I thought. I suddenly remembered that both Umbra and Robin were fighting the captain alone. I had to act fast. I saw right as the pirate was about to strike Princess Sandstorm, I immediately attacked for her. I knew Gobi being a lance was perfect for fighting swords.
"Hey you idiotic fool! That was MY opponent! Find your own!" Sandstorm scolded.
"Sorry." I simply responded. I didn't notice a upcoming pirate about to slash me.
"Hold on!" Dune yelled blocking the attack for me.
"Thank you." I responded.
"Are you okay? You normally see a enemy attack immediately." Dune asked in a worried tone.
"I'm fine. I'm just trying to think of a new plan since your sister won't fight Captain Voltage." I explained.
"Trust me, she wouldn't listen to me either." Dune sighed.
"I'll fight him then. My Lance should be stronger here anyways." I said flying away. "Okay! Good luck!" Dune cheered. I nodded and flew back to Voltage. I shivered at the horrible sight I expected to see. Umbra was in extreme pain and had blade markings all over her scales. Her Bow out of her reach. She was also in tears. Robin was guarding her. But I could tell he wouldn't stand a chance against Captain Voltage. I knew I was a terrible leader. I always was distracted. But I never use to be. Why now? I decided to fix my mistake. I landed beside Robin.
"Oh hey. Your not Sandstorm." He said. "Guard Umbra. I'll handle this." I commanded in a rather aggressive tone.
"O...okay Inka." Robin responded pushing Umbra back.
"You hurt my friend! You will pay!" I yelled rushing towards Voltage. He jumped over me. "Your a fool! Your so blinded by rage, you can't even fight me!" Voltage laughed.
"Stop fighting Inka! He's right. You shouldn't fight in this state!" Umbra cried.
"Humph. I can't let this fool hurt you and get away with your pain." I responded. "Ddddddddiiiiiiiieeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!" I yelled charging at Voltage. He flew up. I didn't have to react and I ran straight into a tree at full speed. I immediately passed out shortly after. The last thing I heard was Captain Voltage laughing at my failed strategy.
