Chapter 3

I felt Dune come near me.
"Go away! You've seen enough!" I managed to yell while in tears.
"No way! You never went away when I was in trouble." Dune answered. I rolled over ignoring him.
"If we can talk about it. Maybe everything will be better." Dune suggested.
"My dream. My life's work. Gone. All for nothing." I answered quietly.
"Would it help if I told you I saw Nebula as well?" Dune asked who was now on the ground with me.
"You weren't even there." I groaned.
"Yeah I was. I knew you needed my support and I couldn't focus today so I snuck out at lunchtime. I even saw you in line. You were so focused on waiting that you didn't even see me." Dune explained.
"Hmph. How do I know your not lying." I mumbled.
"Because I would never lie to my best friend. We are a team!" Dune responded. I started to smile as much as I didn't want to.
"See. The Inka I know is coming back!" Dune cheered. I smiled. His optimism and happiness was nothing I could get mad at. It helped me think. I was happier again.
"Thanks Prince Dune. I'm feeling a lot better now. I never knew how much you're friendship mattered until now." I responded getting back up.
"Yea me!" I heard Dune cheer. He held out his paw. I held out mine as well. We shook paws. Smiling at each other.
"What's the plan? It seems like you have one." I asked.
"Well, we did both see Nebula right?" Dune asked.
"Yes we did." I responded. I thought a bit more. "I have a plan now!" I announced in excitement.
"Yes! What is it?" Dune asked.
"We go out to find Nebula. If he's in the Outlands, he should still be here. Once we find him, we lure him to here and we defeat him head on. In front of the whole town. Then they will have to believe us!" I explained.
"Great idea! But what will you use as a weapon?" Dune asked looking at my mess of broken guard supplies.
"I'm not sure. I can practice my mud breath." I suggested.
"Um, you chose to use a lance. You NEED a lance to even have a chance at fighting. I'll go get you one right now!" Dune said running out of my house.
"Okay." I tried responding.

I waited a hour or two before I saw Prince Dune and even Princess Sandstorm walk in. "Hey Inka! I not only got you a new lance, but I convinced Sandstorm to come with us!" Dune explained.
"More like forced me to come but okay." Sandstorm responded brushing dust off her blade.
"Here! Catch!" Dune commanded throwing me a golden lance. I immediately recognized it. "Syrian?! But I'm not royalty!" Responded at the royal weapon in my hand.
"I couldn't have Syrian sitting around while we were off  on a adventure. And you needed a lance so it works out perfectly." Dune explained. Princess Sandstorm shook her head. "I still can't believe you are not only going to give one of our Royal Weapons to a complete stranger, but we are giving it to a dragon that just smashed his own lance." She said looking at my broken guard supply pile.
"Trust me. He doesn't normally do that. His life dreams were crushed at that really hurt his feelings. Besides, these weapons are as hard as gold." Dune explained.
"Okay. Then why do you need me?" Sandstorm asked.
"Because your my sister! And we can't have two legendary weapons without the third." Dune responded.
"You are going to be in SO much trouble if father finds out. But it won't affect me much because this all your idea!" Sandstorm said.
"I know. But we WILL find Nebula! I promised you." Dune insured. He went over to try to give a paw shake but Princess Sandstorm simply walked away.
"Let's get going now!" Dune said looking at me. I looked at both of my new teammates.
"Sure. Let's do this!" I yelled. The three of us started walking when Princess Sandstorm stopped.
"I be right back. I need my guards so my father doesn't completely worry about me going away from my kingdom." Sandstorm said.
"But Sister, we can handle each other. We've got all three royal weapons at are use. And we can handle ourselves!" Dune responded.
"I know you're jealous because your guards abandoned you.  But I need to tell father that we are going and he wants us to be safe." Sandstorm explained. Prince Dune just grumbled. I never saw him do that before. I figured that something really bad must've happened. I figured I should ask him later. Prince Dune finally spoke.
"Well, we already have a guard! Inka can both our wonderful amazing friend and guard." He said. Princess Sandstorm just shook her head again.
"He can be your lame guard. I need mine to both come." She responded.
"Please! He came up with this idea. He probably only wants us to come." Dune responded. He looked at me waiting for me to approve of his answer. Princess Sandstorm also was looking at me.
"Princess Sandstorm, I want you to tell King Enki that we are going. Please tell him that we can handle ourselves and if one of you were to get hurt, he is free to punish and kill me." I said.
"Okay fine. But that preference had better be a fluke then. I don't want my guard to be a klutz." Sandstorm warned walking away. Prince Dune had a worried face on when I looked at him.
"Please don't die. My life is not more important than yours." He said with a tear coming out. "Yours is. I'm a failure compared to royalty. It's always been that way." I responded.
"Don't listen to her! You are the best! You brought us together! You can do this!" Dune yelled trying to make me feel better. He pretty much had a waterfall of tears running down his snout.
"I promise I will keep you both safe. I promise you that nothing will happen to me. Promise?" I responded trying cheering up the mood. "Pppppromice." Dune stuttered shaking paws with me. Princess Sandstorm had not came back yet. I decided to ask Prince Dune about his guards.
"Hey Prince Dune?" I asked.
"Yeah?" I responded in a nervous tone.
"What happened to your two guards?" I asked cautiously. Prince Dune began to sniff again. "Their names were ??? and ??? They tried to like me. They secretly despised me. One day, both of them quit and I was told that they became mates and lived on a different island far away from me." Dune explained. I put a paw on his shoulder.
"You don't have to worry now. You have your best friend and your sister helping you. You gave me encouragement. I shaw do the same." I said trying to cheering Prince Dune up. To no surprise, he cheered up faster than I did. Since Princess Sandstorm still wasn't back, I looked around for something to do. I looked at Syrian and thought a bit until I thought of a idea. A practice fight! I told Prince Dune my idea and he agreed.
"Lances are weak to Axes. This should be a easy fight for Gobi!" Dune said.
"A weapon is only as good as it's master." I responded preparing my lance. That's when I realized how different Syrian felt from other lances I previously used. It felt far heavier and it didn't flow well in the air. Prince Dune had the first attack. He swung Gobi at me and I countered. I tried jabbing his axe back. To my surprise, this sudden amount of force Syrian provided pushed Prince Dune back. Syrian felt hard to use but I never excepted one lance to be this powerful.
"Wow! Your already getting good with Syrian! But me and Gobi are not finished yet!" Dune cried throwing Gobi and diving it to me. I held Syrian to block a lot of the damage. I started to realize how terrible Prince Dune was with his weapon. It felt like he was using a completely different weapon. With each weapon, it requires a different strategy. Swords required a mixture of calm and crazy because of their various uses, Axes required zero strategy due to their bulk, Lances required a lot of patience due to their structures. Shields and Bows also had their own strategies but I never seen any dragon use them before so I was unsure. I knew Axe users flung their weapons everywhere but Prince Dune was using moves that required a lot of strength to pull off. Strength he lacked. I could tell because he was already painting. I decided to let him catch his breath before attacking. Suddenly, I heard a loud scream from nowhere. I turned to see Princess Sandstorm charge at me out of nowhere. I blocked her attack in a split second. "Geeze!" I yelled.
"Sorry, I couldn't resist your battle royal." Sandstorm said slashing at Syrian. I knew that Lances were extremely strong against swords. "Yeah! Kalahari is in the fight now!" Dune cheered. I was surprised how quickly Princess Sandstorm swung her blade. It felt like at least three slashes per second. I swing Syrian countering each strike. At this point, I practically was spinning my lance like a wheel. I finally caught grip Syrian to strike Kalahari extremely hard. It flung the sword out of Princess Sandstorm's paw far into the sandy ground a few feet away. I couldn't believe it. I looked at Princess Sandstorm who simply nodded.
"Looks like my brother wasn't joking at all. I'm impressed." She responded walking over to Kalahari to pick it up. I smiled. Suddenly, I heard a loud cry that sounded like a dragon being attacked coming from the other side of the nearby forest.
